Omron HBF-514C Body Composition Monitor and Scale with Seven Fitness I

I’d say, if you’re planning to buy a weighing scale, get this. It has many features giving you a more informed data on your body’s composition. Also, it can store data on it too giving you an update of how your weight has differed from today and yesterday’s. Equally, it can recognise multiple household member and store data for multiple people. Great tool to keep your weight in check and learn your BMI, body fat, muscle mass, etc.

I received this Scale yesterday. But I have it in white.The setup was not to complicated, it came with a Handbook. So you can set up 4 different Users and also Guest Users. To set up a User you have to type in your Age, weight, Size and your sex. The scale measures your weight, your Body Fat, your Skeletal Muscle, your visceral Fat rating and shows you your BMII'm 5'11 and have a weight of 210 (way too much, I know) so the scale showed me that I'd have 42% Body Fat, I'm not too sure if that's right- I'm ordering me a manual Body Fat measure and compare if that's right. So far I'm happy with the scale, for what I can say in just a day. The price was 63.12 $ after tax on Amazon and I think that's a Price you can accept. We purchased the Full Body Monitor & Scale to help us in our New Year's Resolution to get healthier & lose weight. Its ability to provide info for more than just weight was appealing & blended in with our other steps we're implementing in 2015.It took longer than I anticipated to figure out how to setup & configure the device, in spite of my having several decades of computer support/training experience, but once this was completed, operation was relatively simple. This becomes problematic if the scale has been pushed flush to the wall when turning it on, but lesson learned. The data storage & display are clear & once familiar, understandable, but there is a learning curve.All things considered, it does what it claims to do, just requires more effort than expected…

Excellent Body Monitor

I bought this full-body sensor body composition monitor and scale to monitor my weight loss progress. It is easy to set up and easy to use. I love that it can save measurements for four (4) different people or it can be used in a guest mode.

Good Value

The unit worked as described right out of the box (once batteries were installed). It's nice looking, easy to set-up and easy to use. As has been noted by others, bioelectrical impedance has its limitations in measuring body composition. This device does not precisely measure your fat vs. lean mass. Rather it gives you reference points to track your progress (or the lack thereof). Your relative hydration and other factors can skew the results fairly widely so it is recommended that you attempt to be consistent in time of day, fluid intake, etc. in order to receive consistent reporting. Imagine the difference between weighing yourself out of the shower vs fully dressed with a heavy coat on and you begin to get the idea. As long as you wear the same clothes & coat each time, even though you'll weigh heavy you'll still be able to track your progress. Think of this device in a similar fashion. The numbers may be off but it will track changes if used in a deliberate & consistent manner.

Good numbers

This scale looks cool. Out of the box you absolutely have to read the instructions. Once you have, set your saved number and every morning weigh yourself. Make sure you don’t have on socks or shoes, bare feet. Otherwise you won’t be able to use the handle part correctly. It will say ERR. The sheet to log your number is remarkably helpful. Our scale is against a small wall, so the handle portion lays there for our weight. It it’s snapped into the scale your weight will be off a pound or so. Other than they this is a good buy.

Great Scale!

I needed a new scale and decided to get this one because of the body sensor feature. It's very easy to setup and use as long as you read the instructions. I like that it keeps a record of your weight and other measurements for up to 90 days. It is also very fast to calculate when you turn it on. The other electronic scales that I have previously owned took longer to hit the 0.0lb mark so that you could step on the scale. I had to change the batteries within the first week because I didn't realize that the rechargeable ones I put in weren't fully charged. When I replaced them I had to enter the date, time, etc. again. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying that it didn't save the data since it still had all of my measurements from that week.

It works!

Seems to be accurate. Programmed parameters give a good baseline for weight loss progress even if it is not (don't know for sure) exactly accurate. Have wanted 1 like this for a long time. Used the 1 at the gym until now. This scale seems to be well made. I would recommend it for someone wanting to track their progress with diet and/or exercise.

Reliable weight, random body composition results

Weight is measured reliably and consistently, at least in simple mode without hand device. In "full" measurements mode (with the hand device) it is always slightly less than weight in simple mode.Body composition just shows random results. No matter how you try to follow the procedure and do repeatable measurements, results are random. Mine may vary from 18% to 26%, all taken within a few minutes. I don't know what they measure, but it obviously has little relationship to real person.

Use it all the time, glad I bought it

I dont mind it. It doesnt he doesnt talk to me doesnt beep at me and bother me I use it all the time because its my silent friend. It helps me keep track of my bone density and my visceral fluids. Also keeps an inventory of my weight loss and holding weight. I do have a back issue so reaching down to get the little hand controller is annoying for my neck and shoulders but I dont I do have a back issue so reaching down to get the little hand controller is annoying for my neck and shoulders but I dont see how they can avoid it in design.
