Best Trail Runners
These are by far my favorite pair of Ons I've owned. Just bought my second pair! I recommend sizing up a half size as they fit a big snug. I have a narrow foot & high arch and these fit like a glove and require 0 break-in time! They're super lightweight but still very sturdy when running on varied terrain. They have a little "switch" on the laces that you can flip to either tighten or loosen as you run & your feet expand without having to retie your shoes.... Show more

Current favorite
I hate to say that these are my current favorites, because they are so dang expensive usually! 179$! I won my first pair in a competition and didn’t want to love them because of their price but absolutely do love them! But I saw them on sale at Fleet feet. I replaced my originals. The shoe has a wide toebox, fantastic, laces, sturdy rock plate, yet agile, the tongue keeps rocks out generally. And basically I don’t have to think about my feet. Anyone who knows knows how important it is. I appreciate you getting them on sale at Fleet feet because they are definitely worth 140 bucks. I still wear my originals that have 400 miles on them but I know the new ones are going to feel ridiculously good !!!! The shipping was fast.... Show more

Good shoe, just terrible traction on wet concrete
I decided to try this shoe out after wearing down the pair I'd been running in all of quarantine. These seemed really neat and cool on the rack and the REI salesperson who helped me said they were good for narrow feet, similar to the shoes I'd been running in previously. I've never worn a pair of On shoes before and I was excited to try these out, but unfortunately I came up mildly disappointed. The big negative for me was that these shoes have little to no traction on wet concrete (sidewalks, roads, etc). I found myself slipping and almost falling during my first walk in these on some slightly wet sidewalk, which seemed odd since I expected these to have good traction. I understand that these shoes are trail-running specific, and I run in trail running shoes ... MoreI decided to try this shoe out after wearing down the pair I'd been running in all of quarantine. I found myself slipping and almost falling during my first walk in these on some slightly wet sidewalk, which seemed odd since I expected these to have good traction. I understand that these shoes are trail-running specific, and I run in trail running shoes purposefully because I prefer trails to roads. But my usual routes require running on road or sidewalk in order to get to the trails, unless I wanted to drive which kinda ruins the run. I purchased these shoes in the summer and found that during the warm, dry summer months, that on the few runs I did with these that I had no traction issues on dry concrete or any of the trails. I think these shoes probably have great traction on trails in any condition, but it was disappointing to have traction issues on wet concrete of all things. With summer coming to a close, I decided to not risk getting an injury and return them before the wet, fall weather arrived and get another pair of La Sportiva Bushido II's since I had been running in those previously and knew they had great traction. On the positive side, I did really enjoy the feel of these shoes. The toe-heel drop was a little higher than what I was running in previously but didn't run into any issues. I found that these shoes provided a lot of bounce in my step and for the most part they were a fun shoe to run in. The main issue was that most of the time I spent wearing them I was thinking about how bad the traction was and not focusing on my run. I think the ability to loosen or tighten the laces is a really cool feature and I utilized that on most of the runs I did with these. Overall, this shoe is good, but I can't get past the traction issues, especially since I live in an area that receives a lot of rain.... Show more

Good traction on a stiffshoe
These shoes look to be, and feel really durable which I love to see. These could easily last a couple seasons which is rare in trail runners. I like the water-tight material used on the lower part of the uppers, it kept my feet nice and dry during a couple days of rain, mud, and snow, while still being plenty breathable due to the airy material used for the rest of the upper. The tread is really great, much better on wet/damp rocks than any shoe, or maybe even boot, that I've used before. Mud was definitely a problem though... there is a deep Y-shaped groove in the tread and it easily fills will mud, but it's really hard to get mud out of there. The holes through the side of the midsole weren't too problematic even in pretty deep mud, but I imagine they could get ... MoreThese shoes look to be, and feel really durable which I love to see. The holes through the side of the midsole weren't too problematic even in pretty deep mud, but I imagine they could get filled in pretty easily if you're going through the right mix of dirt/mud. The shoe was surprisingly stiff, I was expecting a bit more of a bouncy feel based on the construction of the mid-sole, but the extremely stiff insole and board under it made me feel like I had to run flat-footed. It had a bit of that clunky feel of a new hiking boot due to the stiffness. I'm sure with more use they'll loosen up to what's more my taste. I did like that I couldn't feel rocks, etc. which I've found to be an issue with some thinner and cushier trail runners.I have to bring it up though it's a problem with most running shoe brands, when will shoe manufacturers figure out what shape a foot is? The uppers dug into my (albeit slightly wide) toes making a pretty uncomfortable experience. I'm sure when the upper inevitably blows out at that spot it will be more comfortable. If your foot is pretty much average throughout, then this shoe would be a fine fit, but if you like a good toe box then this probably isn't the choice for you.... Show more

Great show but kills until you break them in
The first time I tried these I could barely get my feet in them. They were so tight! Wore them for a walk (not a run) and got blisters. The second time I tried them I couldn’t even put them on. It wasn’t until the third time trying them that they got somewhat more comfortable. By the fourth time I was able to get them on with minimal issue and they were pretty comfortable. Not sure how they would be on a run as I don’t feel they’re very padded and I feel myself under (?) pronating (is that when your feet roll inwards?). I’ll use them for walks and cross training. I did receive several compliments on them. The design is great!I received these sneakers for free in exchange for writing a review.... Show more

Looks cute but gave me blister on back of ankle
I got the pink ones because they look great in the store. I’m usually 7.5 and can fit into 7 too for some brand, but ended up getting size 8 in these. The shoes do not have a lot of cushion but I think they are still comfortable. I wore them on a very easy 3mi hike and my right foot got a terrible blister in the back of my foot around ankle area. I wasn’t sure why at first, but after I took them off I realized the back has a seam that come together and it protrudes out and you can actually feel it, that bump was rubbing against my ankle the whole time. My left foot was fine, but I think I will have to return these. I’m really sad because I really love the style.... Show more

LOVED the shoe, but not durable
I have truly loved these shoes. I sized up by a half size and always thought I should’ve gone up a full size. They are comfy, supportive, snug enough, but not too snug, and feel good even after a long run. However, the soles completely wore out after only about 150-175 miles. The soles are great as they’re super grippy, but the got worn out surprisingly fast, which is a big disappointment because the rest of the shoe is still in great shape. I would’ve given 5 stars if they lasted longer.... Show more

Poor material quality
I am quite disappointed in these ON shoes. I have had them for a year and very rarely wear this pair. The mesh on the upper sides of the shoes have torn open and look awful. I was originally going to return them due to the exterior material not looking nice after two wears but held on anyway because I liked the fit. Since I do not wear them often I did not notice the tears until recently and it is now too late to return.... Show more

Review of On Cloudultra - Womens Trail Running Shoes
Good looking shoes. Excellent cushioning. Very small sizing. All my running shoes are size 9.5. These came up way too small in 9.5 so I exchanged for 10.5. They're still cosy but I can manage it with very thin running socks.... Show more

Super lightweight
I had been looking for a new pair of runners when I was sent these shoes. I was really excited when I took them out of the box, they're super lightweight and seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. After several runs I can say, I love these shoes. The uppers are soft and stretchy, but fit snugly so dirt and rocks don't get in. The soles are a little stiff, but they really protect your feet from impacts if you land on a sizable object. The laces hold tight and I love the release tab that you can flip to loosen the fit if your foot swells. The downsides are because of the snug fit it can be a bit of a struggle to get these on. I had an easier time sliding my barefoot into them than I did while wearing socks. The stiffness of the sole makes it a little difficult ... The stiffness of the sole makes it a little difficult to really feel your foot when you are doing things like climbing up an uneven surface. My feet also tended to get a little sweatier then in my other runners. The do seem to push my foot into more of a mid outside foot strike when I run, but not in an uncomfortable way. My foot was also a smidge sweatier than it gets in my other runners.Overall though, I love these shoes and have made them my regular running shoe.... Show more
