I own another one of these I keep at a different property. I like Ryobi products especially being able to utilize batteries and chargers I already own. The only problem I had was the collet wasnāt lined up well and would not hold the tool. I looked this issue up on Google and was able to solve it. I was thinking I would need to return it ( 120 miles round trip to a Home Depot). Iām glad I didnāt have to. If this issue hadnāt happened, I would rate it. 5.

I was pleasantly surprised how much torque this small impact wrench had. My first use was to lift my zero turn mower to replace the blades. I could only lift the mower a certain height which left a narrow gap to get the blades out and luckily the impact is short enough to squeeze in there to remove them. Wasnāt sure if it would have enough power to get them off but it did. I have a high impact and medium impact wrench but they were too big to squeeze in there. This smaller impact will fill the bill for me for tighter situations.

This little impact wrench really helped me out with doing a brake job on my cars, which is why I bought it. (I have not had to use it for fastening screws into wood.) I can fit it into the wheel well and let it loosen the bolts that are holding everything together. I put it on the maximum setting or even the auto setting, and just squeeze the trigger and wait for the loosening-magic to happen. I tried doing this without the wrench, and it was horrible to break the frozen bolts loose. I have even used it to loosen and tighten the wheel lug nuts, after I have broken them free with a big manual torque wrench. Too bad it was the tool only for the price, but I have other Ryobi batteries, so I didn't need to try a different brand. I would buy this again after my success ...Ā MoreThis little impact wrench really helped me out with doing a brake job on my cars, which is why I bought it. Never got the tool in the deal. Contacted CS but no dice. Another person in the group had the same thing happen to them and they got a refund. I would recommend you film yourself unboxing HD boxes. I film myself unboxing all boxes now. Wish I had open the box in front of my door bell camera then I would have evidence to submit. No deals for this tool for a while so I'll go to eBay to get one. Wish they had a 3/8 version like Milwaukee.
Got the online-only deal for the impact & socket set for $140. Typically the impact alone goes for $170. Took it outside to test and it got the lugs off my Tacoma with ease. I tested both the 4.5ah battery and the 2.5ah, both did the job. The lugs were torqued to 83ft lbs, and this impact is rated for 600 ft lbs of breakaway torque. Even still I was impressed by how easily they loosened. The impact feels durable and also is a small enough form factor to work with. Overall, very impressed.
Significantly more power than a drill when driving screws!!I decided to add this Ryobi impact driver to my tool collection to complement my drill.I love how the impact driver is more compact than a drill (see photo). Your hand is not as far away from the screw, so you have better leverage when driving.I also love how it only takes one hand to insert and remove the drill bits, thanks to an ingenious quick release ring (see photo). The placement of the LED light at the base of the handle near the battery is also ingenious as it shines up completely illuminating the work area (see photo).FYI there is an ample amount of rubber guarding around this driver to prevent it from getting damaged as you lay it down and or possibly drop it.I used this impact driver to ...Ā MoreSignificantly more power than a drill when driving screws!!I decided to add this Ryobi impact driver to my tool collection to complement my drill.I love how the impact driver is more compact than a drill (see photo). This impact driver had no issue driving in the screw, and seems to be less prone to strip out the screws than a drill.I then used a drill to drive in the 4 inch screws to compare it to the impact driverās performance. I noticed that about halfway in the drill started slowing down and struggling some.FYI this impact driver is not designed to be used as a drill, so owning a driver and a drill is a worthy investment as both have their specific strengths.Overall I highly recommend this Ryobi impact driver, especially since it takes the same Lithium battery series as all the other cordless Ryobi cordless tools.
I already own the Ryobi 18 volt impact driver and use it often with a hex to socket drive adapter for when I am driving/impacting hex head fasteners. I snapped one of socket adapters and felt it was time to go the proper impact tool - the Ryobi impact wrench.Out of the box, this impact is slightly smaller and lighter than my driver. However, my driver isn't brushless and may be the reason for its weight and size. So, I'm thinking this Ryobi tool is going to somewhat wimpy compared to the brushed impact driver. I was wrong - this tool is anything but wimpy.I spent the full weekend with this impact wrench to knock out a list of projects. I was wrong - this tool is anything but wimpy.I spent the full weekend with this impact wrench to knock out a list of projects. I am very impressed!Features that I like is the variable speed smooth trigger control and top that off with the 4 speed gear switch with auto. The auto speed kinda had me scratching my head on how and when to apply it. That's when I figured that's what the "auto" means, let the tool decide. I had a project of mounting a side rail on my utility trailer with 1/2" bolts. I was pleased to see that the auto sort of senses the torque of the driver and either kicks in or backs off on speed and impacts.Another plus of this tool is the LED light which my driver lacks. The placement of the light is not the best location in my opinion since it is easy to obstruct depending on how you hold the tool. One item I found as a con is the lack of a tool clip. There are two points to mount one but Ryobi chose not to provide one. This is a necessity in my opinion.I am very satisfied with this tool otherwise and will now be my go-to tool instead of the impact driver.
Nice Light Duty Impact wrench. I would put this impact driver in the category of light to medium duty power tool. This particular unit is just the TOOL ONLY! The 18V battery, battery charger, sockets, and any socket extensions, ALL COME SEPARATLY! Soā¦be sure to check the details on what is bundled with the tool before placing your order. It is part of the RYOBI suite of power tools (260) that all use the same model battery, and battery chargers, interchangeably. It is simple to operate and has four separate speeds (modes). The drive is ½ inch, so you will need an adapter if you already have ¼ inch or 3/8 inch sockets and extensions.FEATURES I LIKE:Easy to operate.Four modes/speeds (low, Medium, High, Auto) . Good feature. It is part of the One+ universal batter/charger suite of tools. One battery/charger works with all of the One+ power tools.FEATURES THAT COULD BE IMPROVED:We found the tool to be somewhat āanemicā to break away tight lug nuts. We had trouble getting the tool to break loose tire lug nuts that had been torqued on to about 70-100 ft lbs. We had to resort to a conventional lug wrench to initially break the nuts loose.
I received an RYOBI Compact 1/2 inch with 4 different modes on an Impact Wrench that uses the standard 18 V battery platform. The Mode switches from Mode 1, Mode 2, Mode 3, and Automatic mode RPM. Each of these has different RPM max settings 1st Mode has 0 ā 850 RPM, 2nd Mode has 0 ā 2,100 RPM, 3rd Mode has 0 ā 2,800 RPM each of these different modes that you have selected. It also has the option to have the impact wrench auto select the correct speed you need to operate at. But if you want to select the best speed for your need, you have that option. This ability to select the Max speed each Mode has Impact Wrench features a brushless motor delivering up to, 275 ft./lbs. of breakaway torque, and 3,800 IPM, providing this tool with more power. Backed by the RYOBI 3-Year Manufacturerās Warranty, this Compact 1/2 in 4 Mode Impact Wrench only includes the tool and no battery but does include an operatorās manual. The battery and charger are available separately.
These new Ryobi Brushless motors are VERY strong.I like the compact size and light weight. It fits in my tool bags neatly without usurping too much room. But it performs like a show-dog when it comes to POWER!HOW I TESTED THIS:I just built and installed super heavy-duty railings for our basement steps. They have 22 balusters with 6 two-inch lag-screws each. This little beast drilled all the pilot-holes then drove all 132 of those long-bolts home fast, on a single charge, and still had plenty of juice left. That indicates a strong efficient motor and power management. The single LED light shines upward from the driver's base. Some prefer the "shadowless" three-LED nose-mounted light designs. But I find that the shadow this light casts actually makes it easier ...Ā MoreThese new Ryobi Brushless motors are VERY strong.I like the compact size and light weight. That indicates a strong efficient motor and power management. The single LED light shines upward from the driver's base. Some prefer the "shadowless" three-LED nose-mounted light designs. But I find that the shadow this light casts actually makes it easier to locate and place the bit. The shadow and the bit converge to inform my weary eyes and guide my hands. That may seem like a small thing, but when you have over a hundred holes to drill and bolts to drive, that saves time and frustration. The spring-release chuck is also a welcome feature. It ejects quick-change bits automatically without touching the bit. That's much appreciated when a drill-bit is HOT. I can't say how many times I've burnt my fingers pulling out hot bits from older chuck designs. So far, I've tried out four new Ryobi tools with their brushless motors. This, and the others, offer powerful professional performance at a very reasonable price.
