No matter what, this phone is still the best bang for the buck especially here on swappa. The reason I chose this phone is due to working multiple food/grocery delivery gigs that has been oversaturated. So I always look for an edge and it made sense that if you have the fastest processor with the ability to outperform majority of the phones out there coupled with 5G service you will get more opportunities to be first in line and accept the better paying orders. Pros: The camera is absolutely brilliant for the money. Upon release this phone really was a market leader up there with the best of Samsung for Android and competitive with apple, but for far less money. It's really the reason I use this phone. Personally I am not a massive fan of phones with curved edges on the screen, bit of a gimmick that actually makes the screen more prone to smashing when dropped, something to be aware of. It is also incredibly hard to find a case for this phone in 2022, nowhere stocks anything, even OnePlus are low on supplies, so you are stuck to the default clear one they supply really unless you are lucky. I would also maybe add that no phone needs to be this big, but this is far from the only phone out there that falls foul of this.

An amazing phone with high value/price ratio

Very nice phone. I had a OnePlus 6t and was hesitated to update to 8 pro because not sure if it was worth a upgrade from 6t from 8 Pro. My wife was using a Honor View 10 so 8 Pro should be a big upgrade for her. Then I decided to buy one 8 Pro 12G/256G @$599 for her as the Mother's day gift. The phone was surprisingly good. Big curved high quality screen makes everything looks much better. The performance is also much better than my 6t. The camera is excellent as well. Its ok,but not good like others

it's good, but it doesn't beat the competition. I still have the Xiaomi mi 10 pro, which is much better than the oneplus 8 pro. the battery, camera and sound are much better. it's not what oneplus used to be. I think the last real oneplus is the oneplus 7 pro. what came after him Is ok,but not good like previous. if I knew he was so weak more than 300 pounds I wouldn't have spent on the this phone.

Not as good as I read in ratings

It's been 5 days using it and I put my sim card back in my S9. I will start off by saying the screen refresh rate is very nice, it is slim and easy to use. With that, I will say the control-ability and features do not compare to my S9. Not a huge deal, but all my panoramic pictures from my S9 when I transferred them, the Oneplus 8T transferred them to 360° photos and there is no settings to change it to a panoramic. Again, not a huge deal. The photo app leaves A LOT to be desired. Its missing a lot of basic features like being able to organize the photos and change the main page to display smaller previews or block photos. Now with my S9 I used gallery anyways. The oneplus comes with gallery, but I cannot find a way to save photos to gallery app instead of the ... MoreIt's been 5 days using it and I put my sim card back in my S9. After 3 days of using it I noticed my wife hadn't answered a question I had texted her, so I sent another text to her and it wouldn't send. So I restarted it and got messages from hours before and the one finally sent. I wouldn't expect that from a brand new phone, let alone after restarting it after I installed my apps I wanted. The messages app is missing a lot of features too. I like my text smaller in my message app and larger in others, like the internet and spotify, etc. You can change the text size - in settings and it changes the text throughout the entire phone. You cannot independently size text in messages. The exterior speakers are just okay, nothing to write home about. And I cannot tell any picture quality difference between my S9 and this. Maybe a little better zoom, and a couple more small features no one who is into taking photos will ever use because that type of person will have a 1k dollar camera that takes a million times better photos. Also, the battery life on it lasts as long as my 2 year old S9. So I cannot imagine what it will be like in a year. All-in-all I am returning it and I am debating just sticking with the S9 or getting the S20. Haven't made up my mind yet. I was a little deceived reading reviews about how great the Oneplus 8T is, but quite frankly, the phone (to me) left a ton to be desired.

The stealthy OTA ruined my phone

The stealthy OTA ruined my phone. Since then, data connection keeps having problems, display tone is never correct, font size and display size are never the same, no phone call app can be found anymore. My OP8 pro is basically non-usable. I spent days after days to fix everything due to the unallowed OTA, the phone is never as good as before. They use unallowed OTA to ruin my phone. The people who delivered OTA and forced the unallowed upgrade are thieves and need to be arrested!

This phone stinks

I've had this phone since the release after loving the OnePlus 7 Pro. I'm still waiting for software updates to fix glitches. Everytime a software update comes out to fix features, other features are lost. If you want to use text messages, you'll need to clear the app cache every 30 mins. If you watch YouTube is wonky, picking up 5g is wonky in NYC, I have to constantly change to 4G because even when I have service for 5 minutes I still can't use any internet apps, the keyboard stinks. Everything about this phone stinks. I've always hated iPhones but I might switch because I have so much hatred for this phone. Please OnePlus you turned me against android after the original Motorola Droid what we you doing. VERY displeased with this product and the company policies for their default phones

During the time I had my phone (for 40 hours) I spent more time calling tech support than actually enjoying my phone. Don't get me wrong, the customer service was phenomenal but my issue was still not resolved. When I bought this phone, I was promised with a long battery life. However, that was a completely different case. I would charge my phone to 100% before I sleep, then turn off the location, WiFi, and basically anything that will drain the battery. I would then turn on battery save mode and airplane mode to make sure that there will be nothing to drain my battery from other apps. All that was in vain as I woke up to a phone that had only 14% battery left despite no apps running throughout the night. As a long time OnePlus customer, this is a highly disappointing situation. I suggest that you don't buy this phone until they make sure that the whole package is alright. Don't waste your time to buy a falsely advertised phone just for it to not work and then having to wait a long process to have it replaced.

only works about 25% of the time
