Oneplus 8 Pro IN2025 (256GB/12GB, Black, English Box, 5G)

I bought this phone in October 2020. I would not recommend this phone for the steep price tag. Often when I call people they can't hear me but I can hear them or vice versa. Each time I have to restart the phone and go through this process on 30-40% of the calls I was making/receiving. For my small business this is a problem and makes it awkward with clients I speak to. For a long time the text messages I would send were coming in double to the reciver almost every single time and photos I would send turned out to be really blurry. I stopped using the provided text messages app and download googles text message app which fixed the problem. Finally the life on the battery is also a joke. Best value in smartphones available.

Smooth and fast with a beautiful display. Plenty of RAM and internal storage. Battery life is on par with other phones - nothing extraordinary, but it'll get you through a day of pretty heavy use. Camera is good. It's not as good as a S20 or iPhone 12, but certainly a major step up from just about whatever you may have if you're upgrading from a phone you've had a couple of years. My favorite thing about this phone, and what differentiates if from any number of other Android devices is the stock user interface - Oxygen OS. It's very intuitive, has lots of useful features, and TONS of customization options - all while operating fast and smooth, with zero bugs/glitches. Great Battery Life! Verizon Version Has Minor Issues.

I recently switched over from a Google Pixel 2XL to the OnePlus 8. This phone is great! It fixes a few annoying features of the Google phone and seems to be well-designed overall. The battery life is looonnngggg....It goes down about 25 to 50% per DAY depending on how much I use the phone. And when you need to charge the phone, it goes from 50 to 100% in 30 minutes! The OnePlus 8 has the one killer feature every phone should have from the factory - a screen protector installed. No need to buy one here. The OnePlus 8 comes with a fingerprint sensor built into the screen, which is better than a physical button on the back or the front. The first thing was that I had a tough time activating this phone. It seems to me that Verizon has trouble with 5G sim cards and their activation. If yours has trouble with just activation, go to a store and have them sim swap. Mine activated right away when the new 5G sim was installed, but the phone support team wanted to ship a new phone and swap the current one. OnePlus seems to be on top of updates for their unlocked phones, but of course Verizon's version will be behind the 8-ball. It is May and they only have March available. That is also a con compared to Google Pixel phones that were always up-to-date. The camera is also not quite as good as my Pixel 2XL, but I am not a photo nerd and can't make out the difference that much. Lastly, the Verizon OnePlus 8 is designed differently than any other OnePlus 8 on the market. So, those cheap cases online will not fit this phone due to button placement. Verizon's 5G antenna requires design changes and forces you to buy their expensive Otterbox cases here on the website. Just plan ahead when purchasing, but at least you save a bit not getting a screen protector. Highly recommend a OnePlus 8, and just wish Verizon offered the Pro version.

Great phone for iphone converts! Worth a try if you want away from the iPhone eco system.

I really like the design, but the front camera in the middle or as pop up like on the OP (OnePlus) 7 Pro would have been great, but thats just preference. I would HIGHLY recommend once you get the phone to go into 'Settings' and 'System Updates', and do all the updates! That fixed all my issues. I dont have any WiFi and Mobile connection issues atm. Updates are from Verizon path not OP directly, so the updates will be delayed. If that is a major problem for you then you'll have to buy the phone upfront from OP. I'm also very happy with the build quality, and the feel of the phone.I do have 5g in my area it works extremely well. WiFI 6 AX also works excellent, I get over 800 meg down at home on this phone. Honestly if your an iPhone user looking to get out of the Apple walled garden I found the interface and performance of this device to be very good. I dont have any regrets so far, its worth a try.

Has its quirks, but overall durable and solid.

Surprised at how many negative reviews honestly. I've had this phone for 2 years going on three. Battery life has barely deterred, and performance is consistent. In the beginning I did have issues with connectivity, for maybe 3-4 months. But after a couple updates that cleared up. I have to restart my phone here and there because things will occasionally get choppy, but any tech will need the occasionally refresh. I'm glad to have had one of the last well made one plus phones. Recommend if you want something on a budget that can contend against higher tier phones.

So in December 2020, I purchased this phone from T-Mobile under promotion where if you traded in your Galaxy Note 9, You would get this device for free in monthly bill credits. A few months later, I now realize this was a mistake. Should have kept my Note 9. There are two things I enjoy about this phone. The 30T Warp charge speeds and the screen resolution are awesome. That's where it stops though. I hate the software and Oneplus' Android skin. It just feels clunky and incomplete to me personally. I also really miss my headphone jack, expandable memory, always on display, being able to use wireless charge, and other various things that Oneplus just doesn't have. At least not on this device. Stupid stuff really gets on my nerves like not being able to silence your messenger app notifications unless your in silent mode. Seriously? Why? I also really hate the fact that your media/alarms are separate from your phones notifications and you have to manage them by using a slider button. When typing, about half the time you try to push the space bar on the keyboard, you end up hitting the home button because their so close together. The whole device just feels like an unpolished product if you ask me. The software isn't really isnt user friendly at all. I have had it for two months and there are certain things I still can't figure out. The camera on the OP 8 is actually rather good though. Definitely avoid this device if you are dependent on the headphone jack and expandable memory. I was actually lucky enough to be able to find another Note 9 unlocked and pre-owned for a very reasonable price from Samsung's website directly and this device will either be stuck in a drawer or sold.

When you're activating, choose to use the new SIM instead of swapping your old one. Service has been flawless for me this way.This phone has been pretty great overall. The unlocked OnePlus 8 is on the July 2020 update, while the Verizon variant has only May 2020. Also the Verizon variant won't let you update OnePlus apps, like the launcher and Zen Mode, on Google Play. All OnePlus app updates have to be sideloaded.Overall great device, I just hope Verizon speeds up their update process. I'd recommend.

I wanted a phone which didn't cost too much money but delivered the goods and this phone fits the bill perfectly. I am not too concerned with what the camera can do although of course it can be useful and does produce great images. I tend to use the smartphone more these days and my PC less. On previous phones I have found things to be rather slow when using the web. Not so with this model. It has the latest Snapdragon 865 processor which is what prompted me to buy it and so far it has lived up to expectations. I've no doubt it is great for the gaming addicts but have to say I am not one of them. I find the Oxygen interface pretty simple and straightforward to use. The phone has a screen protector fitted which is a sensible idea and ought to be followed by other manufacturers I think. The fingerprint reader is ok most of the time but occasionally has periods when it fails to respond. Having said that, I have had other phones with similar problems. The face recognition works perfectly well. All in all I am very pleased with this phone and the more I use it the better I like it.

The Verizon-specific design for this model means that the only cases that work have to come specifically from Verizon or they won't fit. I have had multiple times where the phone will not make or accept calls, and there have been numerous issues sending and receiving text messages. I have the same issue where things randomly freeze, especially on the internet, and you have to close the program or click the square button on the bottom and re-select the screen you were just on to unfreeze. Android 11 has been out for months now, including on the unlocked worldwide OnePlus 8s, but it isn't compatible with Verizon... We have to wait for Verizon to play with it before we will see anything, probably when Android 12 is released. A premium phone like this should also support wireless Android Auto, but it sure doesn't.I will not buy anything other than Pixel from Verizon from now on, this phone simply isn't worth the money with the unreliable quality. My experience with this phone may be the straw that pushes me to explore other providers after 9+ years of Verizon.
