For anyone wondering, it is essentially the exact same device as the TX-NR6100, which got the highly coveted THX cinema sound certification. This version of that device simply dropped the THX licensing, tweaked a couple settings, and sold it exclusively to Costco with a much friendlier price tag, but the internal hardware powering your speaker setup is the SAME! Also ! If you bought this to use with your new Xbox Series X or Playstation and have a TV capable of 4k@120hz gaming, then you have to do a weird tweak in the menu options. Go change the specific input/output to "8k standard/enhanced". In my case I routed the Xbox through the "GAME" input, and then make sure you use a ULTRA highspeed HDMI 48gbps cable from HDMI OUT to your display. Their menu options are not intuitive and the descriptions of selectable features don't always make sense. Sometimes a function is devoid of any description whatsoever. They need a better English translator to write for them, but for the $$$/value, it's well worth the hardware.

Absolutely amazing sound with quality speakers. Very easy to setup and has features of some of the high end receivers. I can't imagine a better sound except audiophiles can at the end of the day the reality of human hearing spectrum should be respected not just the benchmark findings in my humble opinion.

Been out of town for the past of the week and finally got time to check it today. The status of this receiver is amazing. Condition is mint as described. All the functions work perfectly. However, the remote is not included in the package somehow, I think that was shown in the pics. Sorry for the late feedback but I am very happy about this receiver. Would be a perfect purchase if the remote is there. Thank you.

Review is not regarding purchased item, but rather the seller. Cowboy Joe is not selling NEW merchandise. I purchased an Onkyo TX-NR6050 expecting it to be NEW in an unopened box. What I received was a resealed box with a wiped down front face with opened resealed bagged parts. Seller needs to clearly indicate items are OPEN BOX. Item returned immediately via the convenience of a local WalMart. Repurchased item directly from Onkyo with warranty.
Excellent value. At the 'sale price', this receiver is top-notch. I haven't added the 2 speakers and extra sub to take advantage of the 7.2, but it sounds great as 5.1. The setup was relatively easy and it has adequate power.I still need to figure out why I need to mute my tv when I use the receiver and I haven't successfully used the Spotify app.
Excellent Receiver but just a tad more difficult to set up than my last one. Once setup everything is working just fine, had a few problems getting it to play sound from my TV but no fault of the receiver mostly me and the lack of through instructions. Manual needs to be improved on the different problems connection a turn table and getting audio on televisions from youtube and movies.
I never thought spending over a thousand dollars on a new home theater system could sound so terrible, but here we are. It doesn't matter how much I tweak the settings, but I can't just get nice crisp clear sound with this receiver. Everything is either overly muffled, or it's heavily processed and full of digital artifacts. Bass is all over the place, very inconsistent. I've tried tweaking every possible setting, doing a factory reset, calibrating with the microphone, switching between all the different modes, adjusting the treble/vocal/bass. No matter what I try, it just sounds awful.Maybe there's some magic setting buried somewhere that would make everything magically sound beautiful, clear, and present. But I haven't found that setting, and I've fought with ... MoreI never thought spending over a thousand dollars on a new home theater system could sound so terrible, but here we are. But I haven't found that setting, and I've fought with this receiver long enough that it's no longer worth it. I hooked up my other receiver which is over 20 years old and that one just gives me beautiful clear sound with no fuss, no configuration or tweaking required.Needless to say, I'll be returning this receiver.
Some difficulty in setting up. I made the assumption that because it had a zone that I could use the zone as my main speakers and be volume controlled by the knob on the unit, I now see my assumptions are very wrong. I have self powered speakers. So I purchased some un-powered front speakers. The audio calibration does not deal with the zone outputs also. The sources from my game box emphasize sub-bass. It's an Xbox One X. It's way over boomy for this receiver. But music sourced from the xbox seems to be equalized well. I put music on an external SSD. This works with the Xbox, but not at all on the receiver (the receiver has USB). Way more odd problems than expected, but no real deal breakers. Some things that I can't tell you is how game console makers EQ there audio, I suspect that game makers, console makers, and TV makers put little thought into the market that wants receivers. I have a Samsung 4K TV attached. The Samsung TV always wants to take over what I would prefer the receiver does so I have learned how to control around those things. Yes, there is a learning curve. Even in view of the few complaints I have, I think that this is at least a 4.5 star receiver. Well worth the money!
Multi Room and Source Audio / Video receiver.Second Zone HDMI output. Ample power. This is the second one of these that I have installed for clients. Audio output is nice and warm.User interface for set up is easy.
its great. the sound is good. I use it as a computer receiver. The setup was a little weird, I had to plug in a HDMI monitor and use the remote. Normally I just use a tos link for audio. It has dhcp but i dont, now that it is setup i can connect over the network and make changes to the sound settings. The auto-setup the speakers thing was terrible but once it put in sane settings it sounds really good.
