Works really well!! Love that the handle is removable. Perfect complement to Ooni oven. Used the handle to push in a few inches further into the the oven after removing handle, and pulling the pan out a bit before hooking on pan to take it out. Recommend heavy duty heat resistant gloves for extra safety as the your hand is closer the intense heat, but really nice to have the cool handle the you can handle without a glove/mitt for better dexterity. I have small hands so I really like being able to pull the pan out to the edge and quickly hooking and Remington the pan without a glove.

Compared to other cast iron pans, this is easily by far, one of the best there is. There has been allot of thought put into it. The handle is a vast improvement on some of the cheaper makes.The wooden base is perfectly matched to the pan.As for cooking it certainly retains the heat and if seasoned correctly then you shouldn't have a problem with items sticking to. the surface.The lines on the grizzler, leaves evenly spaced scorch marks on the food which also helps the air flow under the food and allows any excess oil to drain away to the sides of the pan.

Disappointed in the pan. The exterior left a significant black residue on everything it came into contact with after use. My hands clothes counter dish towel were all covered in black and anything I touched (pantry door etc) had a black residue. It was an absolute mess and impossible to o clean. I have never had that happen with any other cast iron pan I own. Wish I could return it.

Yep, i have a very nice Lodge cast iron for my breadmaking and when i saw the Ooni cast iron grizzler pan while buying my Ooni wood oven i could not resist and add it to my order. When i got it i saw that the quality is even better than what i was expecting for the price and it include the wooden plate too. One thing you need to know with cast iron is that you need to clean mostly with hot water and gentle scrub, a little bit of dish soap if needed and then after drying it you rub a very light film of olive oil on it. I do that everytime i cook on a cast iron and this is IMHO the best way to keep it like new all of your life. Note that with this size cast iron grizzler pan you can fit two side to side in the Ooni oven.
I have used this pan for searing pineapple prior to adding it to my pizzas, shock horror!This pan is lovely to use and just the right dimensions for my ooni oven.I did have a small problem assembling the stand where one of the pre drilled holes didn't line up with the small leg so rather than send it back I decided to drill a new hole myself.Three drill bits later I managed to get through the stainless steel and get the stand assembled correctly.The stand only looks like tin foil but it takes some drilling !!??!!
These are amazing useful little pans.Handle system fits all of them so easy to swap between pans.They are a gread size for having multiple sides etc. in the oven at the same time.Then when your serving they look super smart on the woodon boards
What a great accessory. Did a Tri tip sous vide for 8 1/2 hours in a simple marinade. Heated the Ooni up to 800. It was the perfect sear. That meat was amazing. Can't wait to do more. Really smart design having the detachable handle, and the wooden trivet is a must. I think there is a larger grill pan available. Might get that one if I plan on doing larger quantities in the future.
That Plate is awesome! It has really extended the capabilities of my Karu 16.We’re making bacon and eggs, grilled meats, fish, vegetables and best of all it seems that this combination is better than a regular grill because Karu consumes less firewood and emits less heat in this crazy summer days.Best of all, residual oil that has sprayed on the pizza stone is easily cleaned by pyrolysis when all cooking is done.I just love this addition!
We try to eat a lot of vegetables in our house. This was great for quickly grilling up some veggies to go with your pizza. It does take some of the heat away from the oven so if you're trying to quickly heat up your oven, I would wait until you've cooked your pizzas to use this. Apparently you can also use this to cook meat like steaks or kabobs, but we haven't tried that yet. Could be great when you're camping and you don't want to eat pizza every night.
