If you are still brushing your teeth manually, I think that this is a great product for you to try out if you’ve been thinking of a electronic toothbrush. This item is highly affordable and lasts forever!

I have had this electric toothbrush for going on seven years now, and it still works like it's brand new! Before getting an Oral B, I had a few different Sonicares, and I like this much better. It is a super basic model of electric toothbrush, it is timed to vibrate after 2 minutes is up and that's about it. I think that it has lasted me so long because there isn't really anything on it that would break or malfunction, and I like that. I really like that the brush heads are round, they fit around my teeth better than a traditional shaped brush. The brush heads are also smaller, so they fit everywhere inside of your mouth easily. I definitely get the best clean from this toothbrush. When I go to see the dentist they are always really happy with how clean and healthy ... MoreI have had this electric toothbrush for going on seven years now, and it still works like it's brand new! The replacement heads come in a few different varietys, so you will likely find exactly what your looking for in a brush head. The only reason I didn't give this a full five stars is because I know that there are much nicer electric toothbrushes available. I definitely recommend this electric toothbrush. I don't see me needing to repurchase any time in the near future, but when I do need to I will repurchase.

They come in different colors, that I did not know, or I would've got black or pink. Never going to go back to a manual EVER! EVER! My gums and teeth have been messed up from manuals that dentists (not mine now but as a child and teenager) have told me to use, too soft, not soft enough, one that didn't fit in my mouth to get the hard to reach ones... ones that left my teeth with plaque still on them having to get flossers or using a clean fingernail to have to scrape the gunk off a tooth... NEVER AGAIN! Yes, it takes some getting used to (gums slightly bleed at first, it's minor, not having to brush your teeth the way you would with a manual) but it's worth it. My 3 children and I all have our own and I'm not buying anything else. I thought I'd try the Humm...heh ... MoreThey come in different colors, that I did not know, or I would've got black or pink. It's not worth the tag on the shelf. 1 charge lasts a long time, but I charge mine every 2-3 days for an hour, then eventually 8 hours overnight. My teeth and gums never looked healthier and cleaner since I started using this. I replace the heads every 3 months and yes you CAN use Equate brand on them- they work imho just as well and not expensive. I HIGHLY recommend!

My friends at work were talking about how much they loved their electric toothbrushes and I realized that I had to switch. I started out with this cheaper one to give it a try, I’ve had it for alittle over a year now and it’s a great tooth brush. Definitely cleans better than a manual toothbrush without all that extra work on your part. It’s rechargeable so I just place it back on the base after each use. Brush heads are changeable, those are a little steep price wise, But I suppose that’s the price you pay for convenience. I have no complaints otherwise, it’s a quality product

Brushing my teeth is now “self care”
24 October 2021

My only complaint is the small brush head, but I ordered it for its smaller size and realized I prefer a bigger head afterward. I LOVE this toothbrush. Like I get giddy about brushing now. It’s like another step in my self care in the morning. Leaves me feeling very fresh. The speed/friction is just right, nothing hurts. My favorite features are the timed quadrant vibrations and the final buzz buzz “your done” at the end so I know every tooth got plenty of attention.

Great toothbrush

Great toothbrush. I was pretty sceptical at first. But ive had it for maybe a month now and i love it. Defenetly feel like my mouth is much cleaner. Not to mention i can have different toothbrush heads? I feel like i get a dentist cleaning after every brush. I also LOVE the fact that all i have to do is recharge rhe battery and not waste anymore money on batteries like i did with my last power toothbrush. Defenetly worth the investment. Not to mention it times your brushing for 2 min. It has a longer vibrate when your time is over for brushing, shorter vibrating bursts to change positions and sides for brushing. Defenetly helps if you dont keep track of 2 min. If you dont want to spend so much money on childrens power tooth brushes, this would be good for your kids ... MoreGreat toothbrush. But if you dont care to spend more money, then yeah pay extra for the art on the toothbrushes that oral b makes for kids. All in all, im very pleased with my purchase.

Happy Teeth!

This was my first leap from manual toothbrush to electric, and I'm really glad I tried it. The entire process from setup to cleanup was super easy. Just plug in the base, click on the head, and you're ready to go. Mine came with the Precision Clean brush head, which describes itself as "providing gentle cleaning action for both teeth and gums." It definitely delivered on that point. As someone with sensitive gums, I'm used to spitting out a mouthful of blood every time I brush my teeth, but this didn't make me bleed at all. It feels like it's spinning really powerfully, but it's not pushing down hard enough to hurt sensitive gums and teeth. It feels like it's spinning really powerfully, but it's not pushing down hard enough to hurt sensitive gums and teeth. There's a timer on the toothbrush (the "Professional Timer" on this model) that indicates when to switch between the four quadrants of your mouth until you hit the recommended 2 minutes of brushing time. This is the only thing that was somewhat confusing at first. The instructions state that, "A short stuttering sound" will occur at these intervals, but in my experience, there's not actually a sound. The toothbrush just sort of stalls for a second - twice at each 30-second mark, and four times at the 2-minute mark, sort of like it's trying to communicate with you via Morse Code. But once I figured out what that meant, it was a pretty helpful tool. As for cleaning power, my teeth felt great afterwards. I felt like I'd just walked out of the dentist office! Whereas sometimes using a manual toothbrush, you can see that you've missed a spot, or still feel like something is stuck in your teeth, this toothbrush didn't miss a thing. I'm pretty satisfied with the Precision Clean brush head, but the base is also compatible with a number of other Oral-B brush heads as listed in the instruction manual, so I'm excited to test those out as well. Overall, an awesome toothbrush!

It operates differently than my previous brushes.

This my third Oral-B electric toothbrush. This one is definitely different however. It operates at a much slower speed than the previous two. I’m not sure that’s bad from an effectiveness standpoint, but I’m more comfortable with the higher speed units. When I operate this current brush, I get the feeling that it’s about to die on me at any moment, even though I’m very careful to continually charge it. Good, bad, I’m not sure, but surely different.

My First Electric Toothbrush
23 February 2017

After years of recommendations from my dentist, I decided to give electric toothbrushes a try with the Oral-B Pro 500. My dentist very much pushed electric toothbrushes as the best way for me to clean my teeth at home. The Oral-B Pro 500 brush came with a compact charging station that easily fit on my bathroom countertop. The instructions tell you to charge the product for 24 hours before the first use and say that after that it will not damage the battery to continuously leave it on the charging station when you aren't brushing. The charging station itself served as a nice, sanitary place to store my toothbrush. Out of curiosity I did not charge recharge the brush after it's initial charge to see how long it lasted. The charging station itself served as a nice, sanitary place to store my toothbrush. Out of curiosity I did not charge recharge the brush after it's initial charge to see how long it lasted. I found that while brushing twice a day, the fully charged brush lasted 8 days without needing recharged. So my favorite things about the brush were that based on speaking with my dentist, I believe I was getting the best at home care for my teeth, the brush was easy to use and store, and the battery life was very good. As this was my first electric toothbrush, I am not sure if the products' cons are specific to the Oral-B Pro 500 brush or to all electric toothbrushes, but I found that I needed to reapply toothpaste to the brush (typically 3 applications of toothpaste per brushing) in order to reach all of my teeth properly. I also found that my teeth were sensitive to the vibrations caused by the electric toothbrush, but this did decrease the more that I used it. Overall I would recommend the Oral-B Pro 500 electric toothbrush to anyone looking to give electric toothbrushes a try as AT was very easy to use and it gets the job done!

Oral-B Pro 500 Review!
9 February 2017

I have been using the Oral-B Pro 500 for about 1 month, and overall I really enjoy using this product! The electric toothbrush came with one Precision Clean brush head and the charger. The toothbrush has one button to turn on/off and has a 2 minute timer. Pros: - The brush head is easy to put on and take off and clean. - Charging is really simple too, you just place it on the charging port and leave it be. No need to press any buttons or anything. - I definitely feel like my teeth are getting a much more thorough clean after switching from a regular toothbrush. My teeth are very sensitive to cold temperatures, but I noticed that after switching to the Oral-B, the sensitivity has gone down and my teeth do not hurt me as much (hasn't completely gone away though). - ... MoreI have been using the Oral-B Pro 500 for about 1 month, and overall I really enjoy using this product! - Good gum stimulation/cleaning that I cannot get with my regular toothbrush! But I have to say the brush head was a bit strong when I was first using it so my gums initially felt uncomfortable. Not painful, just felt like it was roughed up a bit. I'm used to it now, but people with sensitive gums might want to avoid using the Precision Clean brush head and try other brush heads that are geared for sensitive teeth/gums. - The Oral-B Pro 500 also has a 2 minute timer in it which begins when you first turn on the button, and it vibrates twice every 30 seconds so that you can clean each quadrant of your mouth. On the 2 minute mark, it vibrates 3-4 times. Good way to know you're cleaning your mouth thoroughly. - There is a variety of different brush heads you can try with the Pro 500. Several different brush heads geared for different kinds of cleaning. Cons: - There is NO indicator on the toothbrush or the charger port to let you know if the toothbrush is fully charged or low on battery. It gets annoying especially if you forget to place your toothbrush on the charger (like me because I cannot keep the charger in the bathroom) and your toothbrush runs out of power while brushing. It's not a big deal if you place your electric toothbrush on the charger every time after use. - Battery life seems short if you brush longer than 2 minutes, twice a day. It says that the toothbrush can last for several days without charging when used for 2 minutes, twice a day. Obviously the battery life is short for me because I use it for 4-5 minutes while brushing, twice a day. So my toothbrush ends up losing all power by the 3rd day I have not charged it. So if you brush longer than 2 minutes, then the battery life is definitely going to be short for you. - The indicator blue bristles on the brush head have faded more than halfway after 1 month of use, telling me that I should change it already, but it says on the Precision Clean brush head that it is recommended to change it every 3 months. Probably because I brush longer than 2 minutes, but the recommended brush head life does not match what I actually experience. - I find the timer helpful, but I wish there was a way to turn off the timer so that it did not vibrate/stutter. I usually brush my teeth for longer than 2 minutes so sometimes the stuttering gets annoying. Not really a con but still thought to mention it: - This isn't really a con since you can change the brush heads and because you get used to it, but the Precision Clean brush head felt very small compared to my regular toothbrush. But like I said, you get used to it. - Brush heads are expensive if you try to buy them in stores, like at CVS. (But on Amazon they are way cheaper so again this isn't really a con). Even with all the cons I listed, I can overlook them since they're not major disadvantages of the product and I really really enjoy this product! I haven't switched back to my regular toothbrush nor do I intend to. If you can overlook the cons like me, I think the Oral-B Pro 500 would be a great fit for you.
