The Orange Crush Mini is designed to give you classic Orange tone in a small, lightweight package. Whether you’re jamming in your bedroom or warning up backstage, the Crush Mini is the perfect companion. The simple controls give you access to all kinds of classic sounds. Crank up the Gain for heavy distortion or dial in clean and crunch tones by backing off the Gain and turning the Volume up. A quick tweak of the Shape control (anticlockwise for more mids, clockwise for more scooped) and you’re ready to rock! Another exciting feature of the Crush Mini is the Speaker Output (8 Ohms minimum). Hook this up to pretty much any speaker cabinet and get ready for a surprisingly big sound! The Crush Mini features a built-in tuner, as well as a headphone output that mutes the speaker for silent practice. You can also play along to your favourite tracks using the Aux In. Powered by a 9V battery (included) or an external 9V DC adapter (centre negative), the Crush Mini switches on automatically when you plug in your guitar.

Amazing Tiny Amp!!

It's everything I was looking for and more. Orange you are amazing.

Yeah, I know I cannot get a JSM 800 sound at home :)The Crush 20 is a great value practice/beginner amp because of its outstanding headphone functionality which is what I use chiefly. With a good beginner guitar in the 400-700$ range, this is all I feel I need to get started. Great clean tones for a person with heavy tastes (with a Shecter Omen 6). Distorted tone is very nice at the right settings. I like the tuner. I cannot say that the reverb even works. Hard to tell a difference (I got an open box amp so that mighty be why). Here are the limits:1/ The gain is worthless IMO beyond 60% or so. It is just noise after that. It is also worthless under 9 o'clock or so. You are really looking at 10 to 1 o'clock.2/ The speaker is, obviously 8" and it sounds like it. I don't think there is any way around this.3/ All in all, the normal use sound is not as nice as the headphone emulated 4x12 sound. It is okay.4/ The clean channel needs to be used above 9 o'clock; the sound does not "come alive" at the lowest settings.Having learned a lot more, I have no gripes having paid for an open box Crush 20 RT. But at full price, you have to pitch this against the Blackstar HT 1R tiny but good tube amp and I am not sure how the Crush 20RT will win that 200 vs 330$ comparo. If you prefer modelling, the Katana is not that much pricier than the Crush either at about 270. For a beginner, it offers a lot more to explore.I thought the Orange might help one learn to do without modelling but it is only good for that on the headphones output. The speaker is too limiting for that. This is why I am giving it 4 stars. Its value depends a lot on how much you really pay for it.If I go for the Blackstar HT1, which also has an 8" speaker, I will sell the Crush. If I go for the HT5, I might keep the Crush for the distinctive Orange tone via headphones. If I needed an amp to play with others or to others, I would surely look at a minimum of 10" speaker, but preferably 12".

I bought this a few months ago and use it to noodle quietly with both bass and guitar. It is easy to use but the sound quality is only ok,not great due to the small speaker. Battery life is good for a few hours at the park. Today I hooked it up to a 15in bass cab and then to a 2/10 bass cab, I was blown away! The sound was the best! Smooth chocolate to gravel rough grind and all the volume I would want for a solo practice. A very good sound all around but thru another cab.

Great for late night practice, but not much else.
4 October 2022

Good practice amp for the price. Built in tuner is nice. Controls are a little wonky. Even at max volume and low gain ("clean") there's no volume. Gain needs set to at least 1/3 to get audible sound. EQ sounds like trash for anything less than halfway, but almost always sits between 80-100%. Mine gets an annoying wavy pulse when the EQ is set lower. Other than the option of being battery powered I feel it falls short of my old Fender Frontman 15G. Kinda regret getting it and not upgrading to the newer Frontman 20G at the similar price point.

Great for use with a 10 inch speaker cab
22 February 2022

I use this small Orange Crush Mini 3 Watt Amp head with a homebrew 10 inch speaker cabinet. I don't use it's built in speaker at all. I also don't use a battery, but plug it into a small isolated power supply. It fits nicely on my bedstand next to an Orange Micro Dark which I have setup for headphones. Overall the quality is very nice as it's solidly built and the pots arn't scratchy. The only ding that I have on quality is that the battery door came broken, but I don't care as it is on the bottom of the amp and I don't use a battery as stated earlier.

Nice looking and sounding amp, only environmentally impaired by tiny battery capacity, with apparently flimsy lid..
30 December 2022

Bought for our disabled son, who really liked it and enjoys making a noise on his guitar. Thankfully it's not too loud. Only problem is one of the lugs on the battery compartment was missing and was not found in the packaging. We can only assume that it must have been broken and not mentioned in the description. A piece of tape suffices for now though. If it's really 3W RMS output then the tiny PP3 battery is going to need very regular replacement. Otherwise very happy with purchase.

Pretty rad little practice amp.

Wasn't expecting much but this little thing sounds a LOT better than other practice amps I've tried. Took a gamble on it, and was pleasantly surprised when it arrived! Looks fantastic, sounds as good as it can being the size that it is. Has a pretty decent tuner built into it! I started laughing as I plugged in my pedal board that was massive in comparison to the little amp. Also another cool hidden feature if this is also a amp/head! You can plug this into a cab and run it that way as well! (Haven't tried it yet so can't say anything about that other than its possible) Can run on batteries OR power. Doesn't come with a power supply. the distortion is alright on it, but when I threw my distortron pedal infront of it it sounded pretty awesome haha. Just buy it for practice really, but.. I really don't think you'll regret it. And the price point makes it very attainable for anyone.

Solid, powerful and versatile practice amp with a decent tone.
2 April 2019

Powerful and great little practice amp. I bought the previous version before this one and have used it happily for many years for teaching students in their own home. Also great for low volume practice. The addition of the gain pot give a lot more versatility and the mid scoop tone pot has a lot more tonal variations than the previous standard tone pot which rolled out the treble. As before, the onboard tuner is very handy. The input sensing on function is clever and gives more space for the top panel layout, but part of me would have preferred a switch, by no means a huge gripe. The MP3 in is helpful for playing along to backing tracks or working tracks out by ear. I've not used the extension cab out yet, but it could be interesting. Maybe an option to run a stereo cab like on the Blackstar Fly 3 would have been better. I can say from having had the Fly 3, I much prefer the sound of the Orange. It goes from useable cleans, to a powerful distortion, to a decent doom tone with the mids pot dialled in right. Solid, lots of fun and deceptively loud for a 3 watt best with a little speaker in it.

Now let me first state that Guitar Center is the only place I'd buy this from, to try it out and return it to the store. Guitar Center is the BEST. This little amplifier is the WORST. I bought this specifically for it's cabinet output and the fact that it can run on a 9 volt battery. I own four other mini amplifiers, two of them are pedals and the other two are Blackstar Fly 3 (with the extension cabinet.) Here's the crux of my review: The Blackstar Fly 3 is louder and sounds far better than the Orange Crush Mini, even if that Crush Mini is powering a larger speaker cabinet (a 2x10, in this case.) So yes, two 3" speakers in the Blackstar are louder, and the sound quality is far superior to the Orange Crush Mini driving a 2x10" cabinet. The 5mm is amazing, and the VHT is very good also. So if you want to drive a cabinet with a pedal size amp you can put in your pocket, try the Electro Harmonix 5mm. The VHT Redline is also very good and has the added features of an aux in jack and headphone out jack. An adapter cable to use a battery can be had (I have a few of them.) Avoid the Orange Crush Mini, the Blackstar Fly 3 is far superior.

I have only had this amp for a few days, but I love it so far. It is well made and I have no concerns about quality or longevity. I like this amp for two main reasons: A) It has a lovely clean sound. Very jazzy and alive. I have not plugged in my acoustic yet, but it should work well. B) The gain channel has a wide range and is very musical. I was concerned that it would be a shredder's amp. This is not the case. I can get good blues tones and absolutely killer British Invasion sounds. All at bedroom volumes. What a blast. At 20 watts, it can get fairly loud without breaking up. I can certainly use it for church gigs, summer street fairs, that kind of stuff. It isn't going to cut it on a full-on gig, but that is why I will keep my Mesa Boogie. I would recommend this amp to anyone.
