Absolutely gorgeous scent, but so-so product.

I’ve purchased this several times. I stop using it, searching for something better, then go back to it hoping for different results, but it’s always the same. By no means is it a bad product, but it’s a pretty standard silicone formulation. The packaging is beautiful, and I personally find the scent lovely, even though I’m not a fan of heavily scented product, but at the end of the day this is just ok for me. It definitely imparts a bit of shine when you initially apply, but you have to be really careful about product buildup with this. That’s just how silicone formulas are, they tend to attract dirt and caused dullness if over-applied. I was hoping for some shine and moisture miracle, so was a little let down. It looks really pretty, I find the strong scent to be quite nice, but it definitely should be used sparingly. A clarifying shampoo here and there is helpful too. I recently got my haircut at a super fancy salon in the capital city, and the owner said that in his opinion, Oribe stuff is just OK for what it costs. The product is worth a try but is by no means a miracle treatment.

Best Hair Oil I’ve tried!

First of all there is nothing I disliked about this product. Well maybe the price but it’s not that bad considering one pump is all I need. I have fine long wavy hair and I have A LOT of it. People are always surprised how much hair I actually have since when you first look at it, it looks less cuz of how thin it is. So most oils weight it down even more and I look like I have 3 strands lol. But this oil didn’t weight down my hair at all and it gave it just the rite amount of shine without it looking greasy. What I like the most about it is that it controlled my frizzy hair with the first use. It left my hair so soft as well. All I did the first time was let my hair air dry then applied the hair oil and my waves came out so nice. The rite side is much shinier and my waves are more defined, and on my left side my hair is frizzy and my waves are bit defined. Also I don’t use conditioner at all! So yes I recommend this product 100%!!!

I received the Oribe Gold Lust Hair Oil for my honest review. For reference I have very fine hair but A LOT of it, that is EXTREMELY dry (especially since I live in the desert) and is naturally wavy/slightly curly. I can only wash my hair once a week or less otherwise it becomes even drier, and I very rarely use heat on my hair other than to style my bangs.I absolutely love this hair oil! I use it three different ways, and found it to be fantastic for each one which I usually have to use several different products for. The first is after I have washes and towel dried my hair, I use it to add hydration to my hair, help make it easier to brush out, and keep it from getting frizzy, so I can then let it dry 90% of the way followed by French braiding before bed. The second is to aid in detangling my hair when I brush it out every night to re-braid it. And the third, is a couple times a week I need something that helps with frizz and my hair feeling dry, and adds shine, after I have taken it out of the braid in the morning and am styling my hair for the day. So I usually gently take my braid out, run my fingers through my hair, spray some texturizing spray in it, and put it up in a easy and cute half up style or something like that. But around days 3 and 6, I usually need something I can scrunch into my hair after using the texturizing spray to bring a bit of the shine back and help with the frizz, while also keeping the wavy and bouncy look I am going for without it being too heavy or looking greasy, and this is great for that as well. But with all that said, I have no problem paying luxury pricing for a really great hair oil especially one as good as this one, but this is just kind of getting into ridiculousness with the price of it. And there are some amazing similar products on the market that are much more affordable. Though I do like it enough that I will definitely buy it if I can get it on sale.

Love everything but the dropper
25 July 2023

First time trying this hair oil - I bought it with a lot of other Oribe products as I decided to finally buy ā€˜nice’ products for my hair. I can definitely notice a difference between this and less expensive hair oils I’ve used over the years. Non-greasy and actually works to make my hair soft and tame the frizz (a bit!) I love the scent - it’s very light. A little goes a long way, which is good - both because of the price and because of the applicator. The dropper-style applicator is one reason I’ve deducted a star - it irritates me. It’s not actually a dropper, just a tube, so it’s not easy to control. I usually end up wasting a few drops as they fall out between the bottle and my hand, and the way they drip out of the tube is a bit slow. But it does mean I don’t ...Ā MoreFirst time trying this hair oil - I bought it with a lot of other Oribe products as I decided to finally buy ā€˜nice’ products for my hair. I enjoyed using this nourishing hair oil from Oribe and I feel like my hair has grown healthier. It maybe the fact that it's encouraged me to take better care of my hair but my hair ends feels stronger. This is a multi use oil with my favorite part being the heat protecting. I use it as soon as I finish washing my hair it has a nice light scent, some oils are so overpowering. It's easy to use and quickly absorbed into my hair. It gives a beautiful shine and helps control frizz and flyaways. The ingredients are great no nonsense junk ingredients. It's a beautifully packaged product and it elevates my self care game. Nice but couldn't use it alone

Taken from the Oribe website:"This luxuriously light oil absorbs instantly to restore hair to its prime. Infused with a rich blend of jasmine, edelweiss flower, lychee, sandalwood, cassis, bergamot and argan extracts, each protective drop penetrates the hair to deeply condition, strengthen and smooth—imparting intense nourishment and incredible shine. Works wonders on dry, damaged and color-treated hair…Liquid gold."I would agree with this assessment. This is a very light oil. I have very fine hair and I typically avoid oils bc they make my hair stringy. This one did it's job helping to eliminate frizz and didn't leave any residue on my hands, which frankly was shocking haha! I did receive this from influenster for my honest thoughts.

Nothing Special / Subpar (Sadly)

I am super into haircare and (above all else) always on the lookout for my next holy grail hair oil. Sadly, this was not it. Though ā€œOribe’s Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oilā€ satisfies baseline expectations in the sense that it *does* leave your hair shinier and smoother upon application, the benefits are certainly not significant nor special enough to justify purchasing it over another, better option.Particularly, given its higher-end price point, this product positions itself as an equivalent alternative to acclaimed and beloved hair oils like Ouai, Briogeo, Olaplex, etc. However, IMO, its quality and payoff are more comparable to that of lower-end drugstore products (Ex: Garnier). If so, then yes! And hey, if that's your jam, no judgement here! That said, though, this product *does* manage to have one major redeeming quality. I am delighted to report that this oil is extremely lightweight! I have fine hair (and lots of it), so it's difficult to find finishing oil that won’t turn my head into Greasy City if I happen to apply .002% too much. But this product definitely provides (much appreciated) wiggle room between luscious and lard! In my experience, it will not weigh down your locks, and a little goes a long way. :)

I am obsessed with Oribe now! I have been using this oil along with the shampoo and conditioner and it makes such a difference. My hair is so frizzy and dry naturally. I get a chemical blowdry twice a year so can omly use keratin safe products. The whole oribe range is keratin safe so that makes things super simple. I would highly recommend this hair oil, i have thick and relatively long hair and it has worked wonders. I use one pump on damp hair and it helps protect against heat damage as well as going a long way to keeping my hair smooth. I used to get 2 keratin blowdrys a year but since switching all my hair care to oribe, i only need 1. The products are pricey but a little goes a long way so you have them for ages.
