works great i have old pc so plugging second hd into this make it super more normal works with m2.nvme just suggestion get usb hub with power switchs and turn on just at login.. that way it does not not corrupt install paths looking forward too have 7 m.2 nvme drives lol.. M2 nvme not M2. Sata. also usap supported.. just i installed anti virus too that drive now i blow up internet.. so be careful.. seem too work at maximum speed on usb 3.0

I bought this because it was one of the few options that was actively cooled and sounded fast. The fan however make more noise than I'd like. While it comes with all the tools to install the M.2 drive, the instructions do not reflect what you get. Materials are average and affixing the chip is not as simple as the instructions suggest. I also bought this with a Belkin 40gbs USB-C cable, but the fastest transfer speeds I got were just shy of half of what was advertised - 900mbs (using Samsung 980 pro chip). Overall average product.

Received, works. Have not tested speed, however instruction manual does not match the parts given,it is old instruction manual where it used a sliding clip to secure the ssd, provided was a silicone stump to hold the ssd down instead.

My previous report said it slowed down after 500MB - That should have been 'after 500GB' not MB.
The SSD was easily installed.If I could do it almost everyone else should have no trouble. However it does require your own pliers to remove 4 pins in order to access the motherboard.Worked well and able to download about 500MB in 5 minutes (1.2GB/sec) before slowing down. This is twice the speed of a similar branded external SSD

The instructions I received did not match the system. A pair of fine pliers was required to remove 4 pins in order to expose the motherboard. Installation of the M2 SSD was otherwise quick and easy.I downloaded a 1.2 Terabyte folder with approximately 500 Gigabyte downloading in one minute before the speed began to fall off due to heat. This was several times more and faster than download to the same SSD installed into a similarly configured (USB 3.2 Gen 2x2) uncooled enclosure.
