When I went looking for a new watch I have onde Timex chronograph, and I have a citizen chronograph, but this time I was looking for a non battery operated watch. The blue face is gorgeous the bezel is nicely beveled so that it does not look cheap. The numbering on the bezel actually looks quite classic.This watch does not disappoint. There are different color options available depending on your own preferences. And apparently some people have switched out the metal bracelet for a rubber bracelet.

I have owned several of these watches over the years and they never disappoint. I love the Sunday blue dial and the consistent reliability of the hand assembled Japanese movement. This is a 200m dive watch that punches way above its weight. Only criticism would be that the bracelets tend to be a bit rattly and don't have solid end links and you only get mineral glass when most watches in this price range now get at least sapphire coating. I own 2 Orient watches and thoroughly recommend.

The blue dial gives a dressy, exquisite look to a "utilitarian" watch. I've tested it's accuracy via the NIST Atomic clock and after 24 or so hours it's running about 12-13 seconds fast - which is within the factory advertised specs. I'm not a NASA rocket scientist so that's not an issue. Many people complain about the "difficulty" in unscrewing the crown, manipulating the bezel... Perhaps I have strong fingers as this is not an issue for me. The luminosity is very very good. Lasts a nice 7-8 hours and easily readable in the dark/at night once your eyes adjust. Outstanding! Not too large or too small. Is very accurate for a Auto Mechanical out of the box. Blue is so dark it is almost black except in bright light. Lum charges fast and is very good. The band unlike many metal bands actually fits my wrist with little modification. No rattling of the band or movement. A little difficult to set with a very small crown. I was looking for a dress watch as I do have my SK Diver from 1980 but this was too good to pass by.
This is one of the best watches for the money. It's very accurate, well-made, and the fit & finish are excellent. It's nice having a day/date complication. I don't think I could go back to just a date after this. The blue dial really looks spectacular in person. The style is very traditional for a dive watch, but it's not just another clone of a more famous one. The bezel and lug shape makes it look smaller on the wrist than other 40+mm watches. I have a smaller and more shallow watch that always gets caught on the pocket of my jeans, but the sloping of the bezel makes this much slide in and out without getting snagged. The bracelet doesn't yank out my arm hair, which is nice! If something ever happened to it, I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.
Very nice, relatively inexpensive and a good quality watch. Classy look and feel, Japanese automatic movement keeps great time. I decided to purchase this after reading several positive reviews. I was searching for a great looking and great functioning waterproof watch that if I damaged I wouldn't be totally bummed. I use this as an everyday watch and save my really expensive Swiss watch of similar design for upscale occasions. Walmart online had the best price I could find at the time I purchased it. It has that submariner look and feel. The only negative is the crown is a bit smooth and a little difficult screw down. I'm definitely happy my purchase and think it's a good value.
These werent available in the States for years and Ive been eager to get one. They are built very much like Seikos and you can see the linage with earlier German watches, much like the way Subaru and Porsche have similar engines. I really like that Orient can be manually wound. A former Seiko Tech once told me that Seiko saved 8 cents per movement by eliminating manual wind. Sounds plausible. I like the styling of the case. The dial color is more European than some Asian watches. Bracelet quality is not equal to case quality but for this price not a deal breaker. Accuracy appears better than stated and it makes a nice even pattern on my timing machine. Looking forward to wearing it more. I would have added a picture but it kicks me back to the beginning when I try.
The watch looks gorgeous, balanced, dial colour matching with the bezel, screw in crown, 200 m water proof, unbeatable for its price. I had work the ORIENT Mako XL for over there years, great quality, accurate, solid, relatively scratch resistant, no discoloration on the beautiful bezel, which has provided a reference for me on ORIENT. I like the Mako XL model better in its macro size case and a smoother rotation on its bezel, but the Mako ii has a higher price tag. Your choice.
I’ve had mine for at least half a year plus, was my first watch I’ve ever purchased and it got me into collecting them. Keeps time well enough, it’s usually my daily wear because it’s automatic. The lume on it is great, it glows nice in the dark especially if you’re in sunlight often. Haven’t had any issues, I have a watch that cost about twice the price and I still wear this one more! Highly recommend. Can’t say if it is durable for heavy work as I sit at a desk, so far so good for me though.
