If the Rolex Explorer and Submariner had a child, it would look like the Mako II. Simply unique and my favorite watch ever. It combines the practicality of the Explorer and the functionality of the Submariner into a beautiful and unique watch!
My best automatic watch so far, not so big not so small, you can dressed it up with different bands, I replaced it with Nato Strap and order some more leather bands. I should have bought it long time ago because I don't know the brand but after a few research, I'm convinced and very happy with the purchase. Bit harder to unscrew the crown, but everything is perfect for me.
Nice watch, not as large and bulky as many watches currently. Only had it swimming and will test further in snorkeling later this summer. Band adjusted easily for proper fit. Only complaint is the one way bezel is difficult to rotate to move or set.
Excellent watch for the moeny! I bought mne for modding. The in-house movement is as good as any NH35/36 automatic movement and can easily be regulated with a timegrapher as need be. Straight out of the box mine came on the fast side at 12 sec. fast/24 hours aper timegrapher with the dial in the up position after full winding On the wrist that translate to 2-3 sec fast/24 hours. That is excellent IMHO!
This is my first Orient watch....but have been curious for the last couple of years after reading the reviews. I have a Rolex but refuse to wear it daily as I'm hard on them. So my go to daily watch has been Invicta which I thought was a pretty good product but the movements were off and I couldn't stand the flimsy bands. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the quality of the Orient watch exceeded my expectations especially at this price. The watch band has much tighter tollerences that I'm used to with my homage watches. This is a great watch so far! I'll update after I see how the movement holds up!
I had the first Orient Mako which was ok but I feel Orient stepped up their game with the Mako II. Love the design (no extra stem) and the hand winding is a nice feature. I've had it for about a month and it's keeping great time. I highly recommend this if you're in the market for an entry level automatic watch.
It keeps time well except it runs a little fast. Gaines only about one minute per day. The winding stem will not tighten all the way down. I think this will cause a leak and water will go in if I try and swim with it. Those are the only two issues I see.
