I have 2 kittens, both brilliant at using the litter tray. Ya! Their little piddles and the dirty bits can be picked out as small clumps and disposed of leaving the tray with the remaining litter still clean and fresh. I am putting the Poo down the loo and wet into the bathroom swing bin. Wet clumps don't have a smell. Maybe because they are young kittens, but maybe the litter is masking the smell - I don't know yet. Downside - The floor nearby does get messy and needs a daily sweep-up. Currently using kitten litter trays with low sides. An enclosed type would probably keep the floor much cleaner.

I rush bought this by mistake, thinking it was normal wood pellet litter, so was disappointed when I saw what appeared to be a bag of paper fluff. However I think this stuff is fantastic. What I particularly like about it is how light weight it is, even when wet, others I've used becomes leaden when saturated, or don't absorb anything, I don't know how this stuff manages to stay so light weight after absorbing the same amount of wee as the clay. This is a massive bonus as I have 5 indoor cats, and have become somewhat disabled since their arrivals. Which makes bin day quite a trial, for me and the bin men! It's a workout taking the litter bags to the pick up point, and they must hate my house. This is so much lighter and easier to lift than anything else I've tried. ... MoreI rush bought this by mistake, thinking it was normal wood pellet litter, so was disappointed when I saw what appeared to be a bag of paper fluff. I have read that it can be flushed, which I would be delighted to do, but our sewer system/plumbing is pathetic and backs up if you cough near it, so haven't risked trying. The particles though small didn't seem to create any problems for my 5 indoor cats, though it can stick to the furry feet of one of my ladies. It does track a little, but I haven't used a litter yet that didn't. They did take a short while to get used to it, and still prefer to use the fullers earth type litter, or wood pellet given the choice, If we had kittens in the house I would use this without worry, as it's nice and soft on their little paddy paws. I didn't notice any dust, which is great, as my utility room usually looks as if there's been some kind of explosion in a chalk pit. It clumps really easily and well, and is a doddle to remove. I don't notice more smell than usual when they pooped, or less smell, poop is poop, it's stinky. The one issue I have, and unfortunately it's the decider is that it's pricey compared to my normal brand, and with 5 indoor cats it's really not a feasible regular buy for me. A 10 litre bag only properly fills 3 trays, not enough for all of mine, therefore I don't even have enough for top ups from one 'standard' bag.

My cat doesn't like wood pellet litter, so that is why I haven't tried this sooner (as this has wood fibres in-I didn't think he would like this either). I was wrong! Decided to try a little bag just in case my cat didn't like this. It says this is plant based with wood fibres, and certainly doesn't smell like the smelly wood pellet based litter. We have tried a few clumping cat litters that were all awful. That is why I've mainly bought non-clumping cat litters so far. Until now! Clumps nearly instantly! I clean up the wee clumps every time my cat goes to the toilet and it's a breeze, I pick the little ball of clump up with a toilet paper sheets and dispose of into the toilet (yes, as per packaging-you can dispose of it in the toilet), and I do-1 clump at a time ... MoreMy cat doesn't like wood pellet litter, so that is why I haven't tried this sooner (as this has wood fibres in-I didn't think he would like this either). I have now had this toilet litter for a few days (my cat is an indoor cat so doesn't go outside, and only goes to the toilet indoors), so I've flushed down quite a few of his wee clumps, and my toilet hasn't clogged up yet! Absolutely brilliant and eco friendly, and such great value for money! Gentle on my cat's paws and doesn't stick to them either, doesn't trail all over the place, there are no nasty smells either. And my furbaby likes it! I am totally converted and will now only buy this from now on -)

One of my cats has asthma so I can't use any dusty litters. I've also bought various eco friendly litters but none I've tried are good at masking odours, the paper stuff all has to be removed daily and the corn litter clumps into lumps so solid you need a chisel to remove the clumps so the whole lot ends up being thrown out daily. This is the best I've tried. The clumps are easy to remove and you simply pop it in a biodegradable dog poo bag (or biodegradable food bag that you use in the kitchen caddy) and stick it in the landfill bin knowing that it is biodegradable and won't remain in landfill for years or,well.... forever! I have 2 cats and used to have to clean 3 litter trays every day but, now I only have to completely change them once a week and, believe me ... MoreOne of my cats has asthma so I can't use any dusty litters. I have 2 cats and used to have to clean 3 litter trays every day but, now I only have to completely change them once a week and, believe me when I say I have a sense of smell that is probably on par with a bloodhound and, although I wish I didn't at times, I would know if there was ANY bad smell occurring. I can assure you when the clumps are removed and any faeces that may have slipped onto the tray wiped off with 'RSPCA wee away' cleaner on a piece of kitchen roll there is NO BAD SMELL LINGERING. When I remove the clumps I simply add a wee drop more litter and the job's done for the day. When I completely change the litter I fill up the co-op biodegradable bags with it, pop in the landfill bin and feel safe in the knowledge that I'm not destroying the planet by owning cats! I bought a small bag to begin with to see how it would go and, because the larger packs are more expensive than most other litters, considering the amount of use you get out of it, I would say the larger packs are better value for money than cheaper litters which you have to change every day so, as well as destroying the planet with cheaper clay based litter, it is also false economy at the end of the day. I just went ahead and bought a 20litre bag and will continue to use this litter until I am, eventually, dead and eaten by my cats. (And my dog since he's a faithless wretch). I won't mind this, however, so long as whomever I leave my pets to use cats best litter, disposed off in biodegradable cornstarch bags thus preventing my own remains from turning the world into one big old litter tray. Definitely recommend. Now all we need is stainless steel litter trays or, s'thing other than plastic to become the norm. I've just read some other reviews and don't kmow why other people don't like it. It does track onto the floor a wee bit but I vacuum daily so I really don't think a tiny amount if litter on a hard floor is a big deal considering this is ECO FRIENDLY and doesn't need to be completely changed every day. I suppose some people just don't take into account the environment. ****sighs*** Don't believe the bad reviews- honestly- it's great stuff and dusty clay litter GAVE my eldest cat asthma btw so it's also safer for your cats health as well as the environment. Buy a mat for around the litter tray, any litter tracked out onto the mat can easily be swept up with a wee brush and shovel while you're removing clumps.

Over the last year, I've tried many types of cat litter. I prefer the idea of biodegradable litter, and the economy of clumping litter. This forms the neatest and cleanest clumps of any I've tried some of the others need a very deep bed of litter and even then, the gooey messy clumps leave bits behind so the remainder gets nasty and smelly. With this, a single solid ball of soiled litter forms and can be lifted out leaving the rest clean. No sticky residue on the bottom of the tray. Nice clean wood chip smell. You will need a litter mat, though, to reduce tracking, especially for cats with hairy paws.

Best litter you’ll find
9 April 2023

I have found Cat’s Best to be the best litter I have used.I have been using Cat’s Best for years now and even though it is a bit dearer than other types of litter, I find it is well worth the price. Long lasting, it’s economical to use, easy to dispose of and virtually odourless . Some times it’s hard to find but I still shop around for best price. The only major criticism I have is that occasionally a bag arrives that has been handled roughly and some of the litter has been broken down to a fine dust . It is messy and bag doesn’t last as long but I’ve been told after mentioning this to the seller at that time, to return the bag for refund. For me this isn’t a big problem because it’s a great product .

Game Changer!

Cat's Best brand name sums up this product accurately; it is THE best kitty litter I have ever come across and great value for money! It alleviates ALL excretion smells quickly & effectively, clumps for easy removal & it's biodegradable & flushable, making it super easy & convenient to maintain, without adding to landfill. The initial outlay may seem expensive, however when used as per manufacturer's instructions, it by far outlasts any other litter I have used, making this product cheaper to use in the long run than other inferior products requiring very frequent total product replacement. There is some mild tracking on surrounding floor after use; easily swept or vacuumed up; which is a minor inconvenience when compared to the sum of benefits of using this ... MoreCat's Best brand name sums up this product accurately; it is THE best kitty litter I have ever come across and great value for money! Have been using for 7years - Best Cat Litter
27 August 2023

I have two 7-year-old Maine Coon cats. When I got them, I lived in a two-bedroom apartment and was particular and paranoid about keeping my house from smelling like cats and their pee. I tried different litters, but I could always smell the cat's presence until I was recommended this litter. Once I switched, there was no turning back. It controls the smell of having two indoor cats; you would have no idea we have cats. It's enviro and even toilet-friendly, so I can flush their poop which is a big bonus. Plus, it lasts way longer than regular litters, so I buy less. I've recommended this litter to many people, I can't stress how great it is! The only downfall is litter does make its way out of their trays, but I vacuum it everyday. It's no big deal and a small price ... MoreI have two 7-year-old Maine Coon cats. Much better than the pallet version
17 December 2022

It's more of a comparison review.Used Fatto klumpend before. I liked it because it clumps very well but because it's so fine the grains get caught between my cat's toe beans and gets everywhere, and if it's wet it leaves white marks on the wooden floor that can't be vacuumed away, only wet clean.Tried the pallet version of Cat's Best, it's hard to scoop da poop with regular litter scoop. The Cat's Best Original so far the best I tried. It's very light so very easy to scoop through the litter for a light "treasure hunt". But because it's so light, I built some walls around three sides of the litter box so nothing gets out, my cat is really going for it when she shovels... But nothing gets caught in her paws, just the right size.
