Origins Ginzing Energizing Gel Cream with Caffeine & Niacinamide 50ml

I've shopped at Beauty Affairs for a few years now without a problem, however last week my package was stolen- at the fault of the courier. I purchased around $200+ of skincare and was completely devastated when it happened, as I didn't think I would be able to get it resent or refunded because it wasn't Beauty Affair’s fault. I contacted them and to my surprise, they immediately offered to resend or refund my purchase, not only that but they included a gift! I have never had such exceptional customer service from any other company in my whole life! However, recently I noticed some sun spots on my face and I know this product has citrus essential oils in it which can cause photosensitivity. I did the research and it said online that citrus related essential oils only cause photosensitivity in certain amounts, so I reached out to Origins to ask if the concentration of citrus oils were high enough in the product to cause sun sensitivity, and all I got back was a vague response stating "you can be sure the GinZing oil Free Gel Moisturizer is expertly formulated to enhance your skin." This response essenitally disregarded my question completely. A simple "no they're not at a high enough level to cause this" or "yes they can ...." would have been much better than a vague non-response. And I do wear SPF daily. So for this reason my review is 3 stars instead of 5. The customer deserves some transparency and at the very least a response that's directly related to teh question asked.

The new formula irritates my sensitive skin

I have used the Ginzing Oil Free Gel Moisturizer for YEARS, and it's been the perfect moisturizer for my very sensitive skin. It kept me feeling hydrated all day long. The new formula is terrible. They added niacinamide, which irritates my face. I can only use a niacinamide 2-3 times per week, at night, because otherwise I get red, irritated patches.So now I can't use Origins moisturizers at all. THANKS A LOT. They're just trying to appeal to 20 year olds on tik tok. Guess what. 20 year olds don't have great skin because of their skincare routines. Too greasy!

I wanted to find a replacement for the Original Skin Matte Moisturizer which to my shock and horror has been discontinued. I am a cancer survivor and this product worked great for my skin. It is light and gives the right amount of moisture. The Ginzing Energizing Gel Cream was the recommended replacement and it is heavy, greasy, and makes my skin feel sticky after putting it on. It also looks shiny and caused some break out which was very frustrating since I have very clear skin. I am truly sad as I cannot see another option for a moisturizer that compares to Original Skin which is a matte moisturizer. I guess that means I will have to start looking at other companies. Sad about that because I have been a loyal customer for many decades.

Why did you change the old version??

I have used the old version of this product for years. It was fabulous. I don't understand why Origins felt the need to update the formula. The new formula is tacky/sticky and has a heaviness to it compared to the previous version. It might be fine for some but it just doesn't compare. I'm so disappointed. I will not be buying this again. Also I'm not sure you can call this new formula a "best seller" when it's new? Kind of misleading. Seems like you're combining the old reviews of this product with the new ones. So the best seller stats are likely based on the old version. Perhaps you should consider bringing the old formula back if you want to retain your customers!
