We just acquired a 10 month rehomed husky puppy (massive frame already) who was on IAMS and would leave kibble in his bowl. I can feel his backbone and ribs poking up under his hair, so he surely doesn't need to be leaving food in his bowl. Petco reco'd this today for picky eaters. We also have a 6 yr old husky mix who is finicky that we've tried on several kinds of Science Diet and a few others without much success --- same with wet food ---- she just picks at it then holds out for table scraps. I fed puppy a cup when I got home from Petco. He ate it so fast am not sure he even chewed! He was done before I had given the other dog some. Gave him another cup and same thing. Am letting the 2 cups digest before letting him have more. After that she ate half her cup which is awesome progress.

We got our standard size Aussie pup at 4 months old, he had been eating a less expensive, common dry “feed store brand” of lamb with rice food and was not really interested in it. I researched all dog foods and decided Orijen was the best…our pup agrees even 9 months later. His overall everything improved. We also use it for training and treats. Love that bag is vacuum packed also. Quality product for the price and health of my fur baby!

I bought this for my cane corso after she rejected blue Buffalo. She is doing amazing. I got her when she was about 10 weeks old. She had a dry itchy coat with dander and and her energy wasn't great and she was quite small. She is now 19 weeks old. Soft shiny coat with no dander. Healthy energetic puppy! She eats every last bite. Vet assumes she's going to be around 150 pounds and orijen will be her only food, period!

I bought the first couple bags in store, the food is great. Last week I chose to order online and pickup in store because of the 20% discount. At first the store gave me a 13lb bag although my purchase is a 25lb bag, I didn't realize that when I picked it up because I was in rush and did not think the store will make this type of mistake. Later that day I found out they gave me wrong bag so we brought the food back to store to switch, then they gave us a 25lb bag that's not tight like other ones you can pick out from the shelf yourself. so YES I found a HOLE on the package, who knows how long it's been there, and I'm not sure the food is still fresh. BE CAREFUL when you try to order online and pickup in store! I figured that Petco gives you the discount so they can ... MoreI bought the first couple bags in store, the food is great. BE CAREFUL when you try to order online and pickup in store! I figured that Petco gives you the discount so they can sell the problem ones in their inventory to you since the process is you take whatever the counter hand to you. Very disappointed with what happened to me. Remember Petco is not the only place sells Orijen, when your store got a problem one you should throw it out instead of considering our fur babies as the trash cans to eat your stale food.
We picked up our Rory last week? The breeder had him on TLC whole food instead of a puppy food. We wanted to wait a little longer to switch him over but on the vets advice we did it immediately. For those that don\'t know, TLC is basically a pyramid scheme for breeders. You have to use their code to order the food and I assume they get some sort of money back. It is not a quality food, there is no nutritionist on staff and they spend lots of money making sure all the reviews online are good. After the 2nd day, he started only eating the Orijen kibble and leaving the other tlc stuff behind. We made the call to switch fully without the easing/ mixing since he wasn\'t eating the other stuff anyways. Its been a week now. Luna, our 8 month old German Shepherd/Golden Retriever cross, has been eating Orijen Large Breed Puppy food since she was 10 weeks old. She loves this food and licks her bowl clean every time. We were given a complementary bag of a competitor's puppy food when we brought her home and switched her to Orijen after we compared the list of ingredients for both. We were impressed by Orijen's list of quality ingredients (different animal proteins, vegetables and fruits) and lack of cheap 'fillers' (corn, wheat gluten, melamine, etc.) found in many other brands. It actually smells like food and agrees with her tummy, as she's not had any digestive problems and her stools have been consistent. If you have a large breed puppy I highly recommend Orijens large puppy food. My 10 month old German shepard had soft poop and sometimes liquid from most foods we tried UNTIL finding this! He eats 4 cups a day keeping him full/satisfied and his poop has been so healthy since the switch. This does have high protein so I was told it's the best food for high energy pups that get a lot of activity. They make it with grain and without. Our vet told us to switch to with grains right away. The one with grains is a little harder to find in store so we were told to add brown rice until we find it.
I have had many dogs in my life and I've been very concerned about their nutrition. My family is very partial to golden retrievers (we've owned 5 of them) and while genetics are one component of disease in the breed, you need to ensure your dogs are getting the best nutrition. I've had our 16-week-old puppy on this since she's been 8 weeks and not only does she love it, she looks amazing. Her coat is very soft and shiny, and she's doing very well. If you're able to afford this food for your dog, it is the right move for their overall health. I can't imagine putting any dog on a diet of corn / rice that's in these other brands. Also - if Orijen is out of your price range, they also own Acana. We do the best we can for our dogs, and as long as you're giving them love, and frequent vet visits and taking care of business everything will be just fine.
I've done lots of research into the best macros for growing large puppies and i'm happy to endorse that this food is amazing as it does not give any allergies to my 2 Singapore Specials, plus it helps to moderate their growth ensuring that they grow at a well-maintained rate so that their joints and bones can form well. This is one of the very few brands of puppy food available in a formulation for large breeds. I love that you could see all the ingredients are either fresh or raw in their production on youtube. Definitely recommend!
After dealing with our puppy's digestion issues, we searched for an appropriate food to give our now 5-month-old Goldendoodle. Not only does he LOVE it (scarfs it down), the smell is light (some dog foods really stink). And while this may be TMI (I don't even care because while he remained hydrated, he had diarrhea for 2 weeks in the house), his poo looks FANTASTIC. Shiny (yes shiny), healthy, light odor...picture-perfect. We still add a probiotic and multi-vitamin, but we did that with his old kibble, and his poo didn't look like this. I can't believe I've become this person who obsesses about my puppy's poo, but I'm a believer. His breath and body even smell better. I could go on and on. So happy with this food. It is a bit pricey but SO worth it considering I ... MoreAfter dealing with our puppy's digestion issues, we searched for an appropriate food to give our now 5-month-old Goldendoodle.
