I switched from well known "premium" type retail kibble after learning more about the ingredients found in even some of the most expensive cat food products. My two 2 year old cats thoroughly liked and ate this brand but I felt I wanted to provide my cats with a much higher quality food that contained no animal by products, grains or other non nutritious ingredients. BEST FOR MY CAT

My cat became diabetic about 5 months ago. With perseverance and commitment to ensure his diet was comprised of the very best ingredients and high protein, I chose Orijen 6 Fish Grain Free Dry Cat Food. This was chosen to be used in conjunction with a high protein wet food that my cat would tolerate, as he is quite persnickety!At this time, he is now Diabetes Free and I have to thank Orijen for assisting me in returning him back to a terrific state of health!

Bagheera really likes it!

Bagheera was having trouble with vomiting back up his food every couple of weeks, despite limiting his serving size and giving him an elevated dish. I changed him to Orijen 6 Fish, and he loves it. He also isn’t vomiting, and I’ve had him on this for several months. His coat is sleek and shiny, and he has tons of energy. He is 3 1/2, indoor cat, and extremely picky. Will not eat wet food, only dry food, and it “better be good,” he says.

Dissatisfied & Disappointed

Another company taken over by Mars (a brand that literally makes chocolate) now responsible for cat food *sigh* I changed my cats to this food thinking the ingredients were better quality but ever since changing to this food and slowly introducing it to my cats they’ve had SO MANY digestive issues. One of my cat’s was having uncontrollable diarrhea and vomiting, my other cat was vomiting completely undigested food, and my third cat was also suffering from vomiting luckily my fourth cat seems unfazed. I wouldn’t recommend this food for your cats.

Good for them, good for me

My two cats have been eating Orijen for over a year now and this flavor is one of their favorites. The pieces of kibble are the perfect size, shape, and crunchy texture they find irresistible. They smell savory and a little fishy, but just enough to entice the cat and not stinky enough to make your home smell funky. I love that this food is nutritionally dense so they don't need to eat a lot of it to feel satisfied. This food also has a great impact on their digestive system, they're very regular and don't have gas or want to eat grass. The litterbox smells less pungent and is easy to clean. My only gripe is that the smaller bags have a re-sealable closure top and the bigger bags do not. My cat ate it but it made her horribly sick

My cat has been dealing with skin issues so I decided to try this food. She loves fish so she did eat this right away with no hesitation. However, 10 days after eating this, she started throwing up everything that she ate (dry and wet food, fed together). She threw up 6 times in one day. I had to take her to the vet to get checked out. After fluids and anti-nausea medication she seemed better. I started to feed her small amounts of wet and dry food, but separately. After about 30 min of having eaten only the dry food, she started to drool and foam at the mouth. Happened twice and didn't happen at all with wet food (Fancy Feast grilled). I just read a lot of other reviews saying that this also made other cats vomit. Thankfully, Petco has a great return policy.

One of the few wild caught formulas available.

I use a combination of wet and dry food for my cats. I buy Orijen Six Fish because one of my cats has severe chronic atopic dermatitis. It's a tug of war to administer oral fish oil supplements to her. She benefits greatly from the Omega 3 in this product and enjoys the taste of the food. There are other formulas on the market using farmed fish. I choose Orijen because it contains only wild caught fish, and as long as that continues, I will remain a customer.

I have five cats and all of them gobble this up. I have a cat that is on a restricted diet and she begs for this. Unfortunately, I give it to her occasionally wondering if I’m gonna make her sick doing so. So far she has not gotten sick, even though she is on a special kidney formula most of the time. I have tried the other flavors from this brand, they get eaten, but not as ravenously. This flavor is much higher in omega-3’s than other formulas I’ve seen. Most of the time I add extra omega threes to all of my cats foods, but they don’t appreciate it when I do that because it makes it taste funny. Except for one kitty who does like it and licks the bowl. With this formula, I just leave out the extra omega-3 oil and let them have the rich omega-3‘s that come with this.

you get what you pay for

This food is very expensive (over $100 for the large bag). There may be even pricier foods out there, but this tops the bill for me. My cat has had issues with her stool being very liquidy most of the time for nearly two years, we have been to the vet many times and tried other foods: Hills d/d skin and food sensitivity duck and green pea, Natural Balance duck and green pea (which worked well with the first bag but the second bag i bought was quite different by sight and her problems returned) and Natural Balance wet food, duck and salmon, again, she enjoyed at first but subsequent batches actually had her acting scared of the food... not sure what is going on over there.... but that leads me to this food. I want to buy more, i wish there were comparable foods at a lower price, or wet foods that were similar so she didnt have to swallow her kibble whole.Seems like a great food though, and again, it solved our issue with liquidy stools which is a big deal. **If your cat is having that issue and that is why you are reading this, I would say this is worth a try. **
