Ortiz Sardines in Olive Oil 140g
In 1891, Bernardo Ortiz de Zarate founded in Vizcaya (Spain) Conservas Ortiz. Since then, five generations have overseen the family business and continued to advance the artisanal and traditional fishing and processing techniques of Bernardo. From the beginning, Ortiz has dedicated itself to the preparation of the highest quality canned seafood. Today the Conservas Ortiz label is one of the most recognized labels in the world for tuna, anchovies and other related specialty canned fish, its products sold in over 40 countries. I sent relatives 8 jars as a gift . They said it was the best jarred/canned sardines--that they have ever eaten So, I just now, ordered 8 --for my family ! I appreciate that extra virgin olive oil is used and that they are packed in glass jars. Price is excellent.

These sardines are very good. I prefer these smaller fish, sometimes referred to as sprats. these little guys have no detectable scales but I don't think that the guts have been removed from these fish. I really wish that they would remove it. These are yummy, tender, the oil is nice, etc.

Delicious Sardines packed in a Glass Jar and in Olive Oil! Not cooked in a tin can like all the other sardines. Ortiz sardines have a clean taste! We eat them straight with some fresh lemon juice and a little hot sauce or we smash them and turn them into a tuna salad type dish, except no tuna, use the Ortiz sardines instead and add pickles, mayonnaise, & onions.

Lovely sardines, but the giant tin I saw in a deli recently (and I mean a tin as large as a small tyre) was only ?40, this makes these small tins massively expensive. Wouldn't recommend until price is lower.
Can you imagine the beauty of these little fish as they nestle in the tin, all burnished gold and silver. The design on the tin is fantastic too. As for the taste.... Ortiz sardines are The Food Of The Gods. I adore them.
Your service is as always great! Quick delivery as I was panicking because they are my husband’s favourite and I was low in stock.Keep up the good work.Thank you once again!
The best I have ever tasted, could just eat them out of the tin! Try mashed up on toasted Tiger Bread, rubbed with garlic and covered with chopped tomatoes in a little olive oil. Hot grill for a couple of mins, then top with finely chopped shallots that have been soaked in a little pickled onion vinegar for 30 mins, and a squeeze of lemon. Great !
These sardines bottled in glass are from Ortiz, arguably among the most respected fish canners in the world and for good reason (for the most discerning sea food lover only). This "Antigua" product features jumbo sardines of the finest gourmet quality packed in fresh olive oil and comprises a unique product, exceptional but pricey and not found anywhere in the canning industry. Sardines are ordinarily both steamed and roasted in the can and packed in oil. This sardine process can cause an extraordinarily high exposure to undesirable can liner chemicals, such as BPA or others. Alternatively, glass packaging is one of the most inert forms of food preservation and avoids this untoward exposure.
These are the best sardines in olive oil! And I have tried a lot of brands. The oil is really olive oil, the sardines are soft, but firm. Just the way they should be. The flavor is intense, but not too strong. Love them.
is it sad times when I review tinned sardines umprompted? Or is this what happens when you hit 40?chunky, not too salty tasty fish. THese retain shape when cooking. i like them with courgetti but also on toast. i have tried a lot to get close to the waitrose lemons ones and these are nicer tbh. Ocado will probably discontinue them like they seam to do with most decent imo quality produce these days. stocking up as on offer. you wont look back my fishy friends.
