Ortlieb Dry Bag PD350 22L Black/Slate
The Ortlieb medium weight PD350 dry bag is probably the best drybag in the world! It is tough and incredibly durable yet light enough to use practically everywhere. Originally designed for water sports the Ortlieb drybag has become the choice of all outdoor enthusiasts who want to keep their kit dry and clean. The roll top closure whilst not guaranteed 100% waterproof does meet IP64 standards which describes the bag as “Dust proof, no penetration of dust and protected against splash water coming from all directions”. Once the top is rolled it is secured with a tough buckle and there are two d-rings for additional security or locking. The base features a loop for fixing or holding and it is reinforced with PD620 fabric for increased stability and abrasion resistance.

Have used an older version of this bag for many years for canoeing and putting wet watersports gear in. That one has begin to crack along the crease where you roll it up, which is inevitable, so bought this one to replace it for using on top of a rack for cycle touring.Worked brilliantly, although I was slightly careless with packing and the rack managed to wear a 2cm slit in it - although it was being rather bounced around on very rough roads and getting covered in gritty paste from the road and stream crossings didn't help. Once discovered, I covered the area in contact with the rack with tape and didn't have any further problems on the trip. A friend of mine on the same trip had the heavier duty PS450 version of this bag and didn't have the same problem, but ... It is available elsewhere in other colours - the yellow one is much more visible and much easier to find your stuff in.

I have been using Ortlieb products since 20 years and I appreciate them for their durability. I tried different drybags from other companies before, but those are made to last. I use them for bilepacking and 13L is the perfect volume to install to your handlebar or on your rear rack. Will buy them again

Nicely made, reasonably priced. A little heavy, but more than makes up for it in durability.

I started to commute with my road bike on which I cannot fit a rack. I have a pair of Ortlieb panniers I'm very happy with (except when it comes to carrying them off the bike...) and instead of buying yet another bag or backpack, I thought this adapter would be great to keep using the pannier. In addition, the reviews I read about it were very positive (now I'm wondering whether they related to the same product...). As the pannier can be uncomfortable to carry off the bike when we go touring, the idea was also to use the adapter during cycling holidays. Sadly, I was quite disappointed to discover what the adapter and padding actually are: it's very light (which is good) but rather feel like a piece of cardboard. The "padding" is only some sort of pre-moulded material (plastic I assume?) and is very hard. I did not find the fitting quite right either and the repartition of the weight on the back is just wrong (not sure whether it's me who missed some adjustments). Overall, as long as you don't carry much in your pannier, the overall experience is bearable, but as soon as you have a bit of weight (e.g your laptop, a heavy lock) it is just very painful for your back. I expected a bit better from Ortlieb but it looks like they cannot do something that works on the bike and off the bike as well (except maybe for the more expensive models?). I just stopped using it and reverted to my hiking light backpack with a rain cover that does the job much better and my back thanks me every day for that.
I bought four of these bags for a 6-day kayak trip and they are impressively robust. I used them for sleeping bags and other "must stay dry" items, and had no problems with moisture. They are by far the most abrasion resistant bags of all the brands I own, and the shape works well for storing in kayak hatches,
This dry bag is perfect for your tent and a few other things for bike packing as it is longer than the other brands. This makes it also a bit more streamlined behind your bike. I use it on a beam rack.
Massive (but rolls down to be not so large if you like), and keeps stuff dry. I use this bag to transfer bedding onto a boat via a splashy dinghy and everything stays dry as a bone! Haven't dropped it in the water or submerged it (yet!) so can't say if it's completely waterproof but all seems good so far! It has a loop on the bottom and loops at the opening on the top so you could add your own strap if you like.
Ortlieb has been making the worlds best panniers for years so I thought they would be making very good dry bags. These dry bags are about half as thick as their panniers and I would say low to mid quality. I have good quality dry bags and these are far from them.
The medium weight is just the right thickness material to be strong enough but soft enough to push into hatches etc. 22L is the perfect size to fit into my front hatch, and still holds plenty of kit. I've got 2, different colours so I know whats in each etc.
Unfortunately this rucksack adapter is unusable. Despite being covered with what look like well placed supports that should go either side of your spine, all the weight of your baggage goes into the small of your back. No amount of adjustment corrects this. Also, the over shoulder straps haven't been well placed and dig into the skin.
