My kids have several Osmo sets so the Detective Agency was a perfect addition for them! You need to already have the base to be able to play. Then you need to download the Detective app. There are different age levels and abilities that can be set before play. Each map is 2 sided. They come in a nice case as well as with a magnifying glass, because you need one of those to be a true detective! There are 4 double sided maps. The purpose of the game is to travel the world and help people solve mysteries, while learning many new things along the way! My kids ages 6-12 all enjoy playing this!

What a clever, interactive approach to teaching kids about cities and important landmarks. It was engaging and captured the attention of my 6-year old for hours. Even our 11-year old enjoyed it! (It came in handy during coronavirus quarantine!) I am very impressed with the whole Osmo system (we own an additional activity/set). It works flawlessly--no glitches. What a cool learning tool!
My son was so excited to receive this game in the mail mid week we promised he would get to try it out over the weekend! The weekend came and we opened they game only to realize you need to purchase the base to be able to play the game( we knew you need an iPad to play ) he was so disappointed ! We ordered the base and it will be here within a week hopefully! We did go over the pieces that were included it comes with several maps and a magnifying glass it seems to be an interactive learning game that allows the child to explore different countries while being a detective looking for clues ! It seems like it will be a fun learning tool for my little one!
My kids have loved figuring this out. They are 6 & 10 and the app can adapt to both of them. We use ours with a kindle Fire. There are several maps included for real places around the globe and 1 fictional town. But the app includes real photos and historical facts about the places they visit. My oldest really loves geography and could spend hours playing with this. It’s nice to see an educational extension that isn’t just math or reading.

Since then they have played almost every day since we gave it to them. We have so many different conversations about what they learned and what they are excited to explore next. Take seek and finds and enhance the experience for the digital age. Osmo provides yet another awesome app for youth learning and development. This can be enjoyed independently or with a parent. Travel the world using fold up maps, find clues to solve the mystery. Comes with one magnifying glass that the tablet will recognize. We use a regular magnifier too when using teamwork but only the game provides magnifier registers when a clue is found on the game board. Osmo rocks. The boards themselves are made of VERY durable cardboard. They come neatly in a sleeve along with the magnifying glass! This item is also great quality! my son has so much fun looking for the various items on the boards that the game tells him to find. He really using the game!
