Can't really beat an Osprey pack. The Aether Plus 60 is for me the perfect pack for the multi-day trips. It combines space and comfort all in a quality built pack. All up it took 24 days to arrive from Amsterdam to Melbourne. Highly recommend TrekkInn!

Do not buy this pack or others like it. Osprey denies all responsibility for it's design faults and refuses to properly repair these packs or others like these.I have 2 Ospresy pack that have both failed in exactly the same place. The zip on the curve. It is so clearly a design fault yet Osprey says "With your pack being at least 4 years old this wear is inevitable". So, unless you want a pack that can be useless after some short amount of use, don't buy Osprey.

The Ariel Plus 85 backpack was a game changer for me. I'm not a "professional" backpacker, so packing everything but the "kitchen sink" was a desire. Although I wound up not packing that too, I did manage to get everything I needed, and more, into this pack for a 3 night solo trip. An ultralight tent and a 4.7" high sleeping pad were carried on the outside of the pack, while my mummy-style sleeping bag was in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. Other necessary items took up the rest of the space, with room to spare. Not only was there plenty of room in this bag, but it was incredibly comfortable. I'm humpbacked, so not many backpacks are comfortable for me. This pack has a lot of good things going for it, but there are some significant design flaws that outweigh the good for me. This pack broke before I even got to use it. The buckle attachments that secure the brain/top lid both broke due to poor design and had to be secured with a knot. The first one broke at orientation for a Rainier climb, the second side broke during the climb. Additionally, when you use the top lid as a daypack, the attachment for the straps makes absolutely no sense and is poorly designed. Also had to secure these with a knot.
I bought the Ariel Plus 85 as an expedition backpack for Denali (recommended to me). However, completely empty, it is a very heavy backpack. Itâs also incredibly over engineered with multiple extra bits that it just doesnât need - for example, there is another smaller backpack hidden in a compartment but as itâs stitched in, you have to cut it out in order to reduce the overall weight of the pack. The pack is comfortable to wear, but Iâm not sure itâs worth the added weight of the back support. Overall I was very disappointed with the purchase. It wasnât cheap, but itâs so heavy and unnecessarily bulky in places, I know Iâll never use it again
Took this on a maiden voyage across the Rockwall Trail... loaded it way too heavy, but it held up admirably. I found all the straps extremely adjustable, which was fortunate, because it allowed me to shift the load around between my hips and shoulders. Once I had some weight out of the pack, it began a lot more comfortable. Took me a while to get the hip straps where I wanted them; I would probably get it adjusted in a store before you use it, so you're not experimenting on the trail like I was. But overall, lots of room, and extremely easy to reach everything in your bag, which is awesome.
For the average backpacker, the Aether Plus 60 is the epitome of backpacks. I think Osprey has really come up with a pack that does it all. This pack is not only a combination of the best features found in their other great packs, but an evolution of new innovative features, making this one hard to beat.My favorite features on the Aether Plus (also found on some other Osprey packs) are the removable lid that converts to a day pack, the Stow on the Go trekking pole holder system and the stretchable âstuff pouchâ at the front of the pack. But specific to the Aether Plus, the complete access to the interior of the pack from the front and the additional two front vertical pockets make this pack extremely convenient. But specific to the Aether Plus, the complete access to the interior of the pack from the front and the additional two front vertical pockets make this pack extremely convenient. The straps on the side of the Aether Plus are contrasted in color compared to the nearby straps from the hood to make it easy for your eye to pick up the âcorrectâ strap when securing everything. I donât know why Osprey decided to switch the color scheme of the straps (light and dark) on this pack as compared to the Xenith, but the idea is the same; it makes it easy to discern whatâs what. These features married to the stable, yet comfortable and beautifully designed, adjustable nature of the suspension system, make it a pleasure to use on the trail. It even comes with its own rain cover in its own little bonus pouch! I love that pouch for its ability to also stow an ID wallet or next sectionâs map, thin gloves, or other small items you may not use on a regular basis. There's lots of ways to strap an item to the outside of the pack if need be and the design of the shoulder straps make it easy to attach a shoulder pouch or a Go Pro type of camera, and of course, secure the hydration tube. The Axo Green color just looks like it belongs in the forest and the 60L size is perfect for most of my three season trips. Thereâs no reason for me to look elsewhere.Certainly, if you need the room for colder temps, long excursions, or the need to pack a portion of someone elseâs gear, the Aether Plus has you covered with the 70, 85 and 100 L versions. Will this pack evolve? Of course. Just like everything. But you know how weâre always saying, âthey always discontinue the good stuffâ? Iâm confident I wonât have to say that about my backpack, now that I have the Osprey Aether Plus 60.
I bought this about a month ago and have done two backpacking trips, it is one of the best backpacks I've owned so far. Osprey really has outdone themselves, especially with the front opening compartment. Easy access for everything and fits so many things in it as well. Easy to clean and the straps don't hurt as bad as other brands.
Amazing build quality and feature set. The daylid is an amazing feature for a summit pack! Checks every box other than ultra light, perfect for bringing all the comfort items for a weekend trip and caries 50+ pounds with no problems. Wish the hydration sleeve was external instead of internal, love that on my girlfriends tempest but other than that 10/10 would buy again.
Has everything I needed including integrated day hike pack. Big enough to keep everything inside. Small pocket for chapstick and small items on the strap. Hydration integrated.Wish two pockets on hip straps bigger to fit iPhone pro max sizeHighly recommended
