I am new to backpacking and this is my first pack. I did alot of research and decided on this one. My plan is to do mostly weekend overnights. I have not fully loaded my pack yet but just took a 3 mile test hike with elevation changes of 300'. Temp was about 85 degrees. Pack was well balanced (about 20 lbs), comfortable and most importantly the ventilation was the most impressive. this is a great pack but the newest model does not come with the flap jacket like older models did. Most review videos you see on the web are of older models and show this feature but is not a problem for me. I highly recommend this pack.I am 5'10" 230lbs. pack fits like a glove and it truly never slowed me down

I bought this pack about a month ago, as I was headed on a backpacking trip to Iceland. I didn't have time to go get fitted and I figured that I could return it if I didn't like the fit. From the moment I tried it on, I loved it. The formed hip supports funnel all the weight onto your hips and pelvis and off of your shoulders. It is super easy to adjust on the trail to alter where the weight lands. I usually get headaches from carrying backpacks, as I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders anyhow and somehow, I actually felt better than usual while wearing this pack. It was so comfortable that I never dreaded putting my pack back on after a rest. I carried ~30 lbs and could it could have handled more. After walking around in a couple airports with this on, I'm considering having this pack be my carry-on in future as it is extremely portable. I had a friend who bought this pack too, and she said her anti-gravity suspension creaked when she walked. Mine did at first, but after putting weight in it, the creaking went away. The only thing I would change about this pack is the length of the adjustable part of the shoulder straps. I don't have much room to tighten the straps when I've just gotten them to not be loose. Overall, I consider this pack to be one of the best high-ticket purchasing decisions I've made in awhile.

The only problem I've encountered was getting the hip belt right. I'm a skinny guy with bony hips so it took a bit to get the hip belt right. But the pack is super customizable so I eventually figured out the setup.I got this bag to downsize/upgrade from my old 70L(?) pack. Its been perfect for 4 days of backpacking or quick car camping as well. I was initially worried about having less pockets than my old pack, but that turned out to be a non issue. Great bag!

Did a lot if research to pick out this pack. Measured my torso and body to select the right size. It arrived fast even over the holidays and had every feature advertised. At first I didn't quite like the fit, but 30 seconds on YouTube had me realizing I hadn't adjusted all of the many adjustment points on this bag. Voila, perfect fit. What I love is that the frame can be adjusted up and down within the pack itself, making it sit in just the right spot on my long torso. My only complaint so far is that the chest strap isn't adjustable up/down. I like the removable flap to separate the bottom compartment (let's me stick my tent poles down into it to reduce the overall height), and it has just the right number of pockets. The side waterbottle pockets are great too. The ... MoreDid a lot if research to pick out this pack. Measured my torso and body to select the right size. Absolutely stoked to get out in the mountains with this pack. Did piles of research before purchasing and I am really happy with this purchase. Antigravity works amazingly well and the straps are completely adjustable. The hip straps are stiff and will likely soften over time, but I like the stiffness. Lots of little extras that make the purchase worth it - straps for poles, space for a bladder, separate sleeping bag section, top pocket can be removed and still have weatherproof flap…so many great features. It’s also so light! Not obviously ultralight, but still very light. Cannot wait to try it out for a 4-5 day backpack trip in the summer!
This backpack was worth the price even though I purchased it when it wasn’t on sale. I preferred it over the Ariel 60L+ 10L. The Aura 65L in Vestal Grey (size small) arrived with the stitching ripped. The return was hassle free and customer support was great.I expedited the Aura 65L in Challenger Blue (size xsmall) and it fit great. I am barely 5feet 2inches and the small gapped at the shoulder straps. The xsmall fit perfectly. I used it for the West Coast Trail and carried almost 40lbs without feeling the weight. The hip belt was stiff for some time but took the weight off of me so that was the trade-off. I would recommend this backpack to others.
I bought this backpack as a gift for my husband, who is a multi-day hiker. I am not a hiker myself, so I was a little nervous about the purchase, but Osprey made it easy take the chance. And he loves it! Its very well ventilated, light weight, and has great access for things you need to reach for regularly. The hip straps are molded in a "hugging" position, so it makes the load feel more securely positioned over his hips and takes pressure off his lower back. And I love the color, he looks great in this shade of green. We are very happy with the purchase!
This pack relaxed my 20 year old REI Flash50. I was packing for a weekend trip in Uwharrie NF and I ripped a seam. Off to REI I went for a last minute pack purchase. This Osprey pack is the pack of packs. It’s only 50 liters but a perfect size for me of up to a week or so. It is excellent quality and it is obvious from the get go. The lower sleeping bag pouch fits my Kammok Mantis perfectly. The side pockets have both horizontal and vertical access which is great for water bottles. It took me about all of the first day to get the back adjusted properly but once it’s set you’re good to go. The back webbing provides for excellent airflow and allows the load to conform to your body. I love this bag, I should have bought it years ago. I was so excited to get this pack in after reading reviews on it myself, It certainly has lived up to my expectations. This pack is so adjustable!!! I was in between sizes and could have sized down but the medium ended fitting me great on the smallest settings! The mesh anti gravity back is super nice but it does push the pack out further so just be aware of that if you are comparing packs and are planning to load your pack pretty heavily. All the pockets and compartments are super useful and help with organizing (though I would still recommend packing cubes for your really small things). My only itty bitty complaint is that I wish the load lifter straps were a bit longer as they are maxed out at the smallest back setting. Super awesome pack, would definitely recommend!
I bought this pack for a 3 week backpacking trip in yellowstone with 14 days of backcountry as an upgrade from my old one that had been to the blue ridge mountains and iceland with me. The trip really pushed this pack to it's limits and it performed phenomenally.Functionality:The main section of the pack is massive. You can easily fit all your layers, gear (stove, cooking utensils etc.), tent, sleeping bag (synthetic or down) and a blowup sleeping pad. The only issue I could see with it is you can only access the main resevoir from the top or the bottom. But issues with this are easily avoidable by putting your rain layers in the mesh outer (where I keep mine that way they're easily accessible and if they're wet they aren't going with the rest of my gear) and your ... MoreI bought this pack for a 3 week backpacking trip in yellowstone with 14 days of backcountry as an upgrade from my old one that had been to the blue ridge mountains and iceland with me. But issues with this are easily avoidable by putting your rain layers in the mesh outer (where I keep mine that way they're easily accessible and if they're wet they aren't going with the rest of my gear) and your bug spray, sunscreen, hat, gloves, etc. should always be kept in the brain of the pack or hip straps. The brain has two portions, one is where I keep my hat, gloves, and a backup rain poncho, and the other is where I keep bug spray, sunscreen, and toiletries. The hips straps are an excellent spot for maps, passports, wallets, chapstick, etc. All small things you need quick access too. And the water bottle holders easily accommodate a nalgene.Comfort. It's unreal. I saw some reviews talking about the hip straps and shoulder padding, but issues with this are very easily avoidable. When buying any pack you should always go into your local moosejaw or other camping store to get properly fitted, and then wear your pack around and allow it to mold properly to your body. Osprey's ventilation system on the back is crazy comfortable, extremely breathable, and impressively durable. Not much else to say about it.Other: the pack has outer straps on the bottom that accommodate a roll up sleeping pad like a thermarest, and there are straps and loops all over that allow you to carabiner extra waterbottles, a hammock, etc. There are also some loops, and a bungee at the top that perfectly hold an ice-axe as well. It's definitely a pack for the intermediate or advanced adventurer, but I would still recommend it to someone starting out as long as they have someone to tell them all the features and show them how to pack properly.
