I am planning to used this for short flights away to Scotland to visit family. This is more like luggage but isn't. It is skilfully made to fit so much in and can be used as a rucksack too. Lots of space for things like shoes too. This was a bargain for the quality and practical benefits. I think the size may be ok to take on flights as extra hand luggage which I believe may be allowed by some airlines when you pay an extra fee.

The bag works great if you’re using it to carry a lot of stuff. Definitely lots of room to pack for a weekend getaway. Straps are padded and comfy. Side pockets work well for all the little things you need to carry. However, the bag is unstructured. It will droop and be awkward to carry if not completely full. Would be nice to have compression straps inside the bag to keep things from moving.

I got this in the ash/mamba black color (per my girlfriend's suggestion) and when it arrived, I thought it was very good looking. The girlfriend even agreed, and patted herself on the back about the color choice.I kept looking at it for a couple days, thinking something was wrong...then I figured it out - it was just too small for what I bought it for, which is a carry-on at the airport.I ended up buying the Osprey 45L bag, which is perfect for me.This bag is great and Osprey makes great products, but for me, it's just not big enough.

I bought this for to use as a gym bag. As far as size goes, I think it'd be prefect, just right for a pair of shoes and your smelly gym clothes with a couple pockets for your ear buds, etc...Also, built with the quality you'd expect from Osprey - with a nice detail of the integrated shoulder strap/handle. I'm a true fan! That said, the way the straps are placed on the bag, makes it fold up on itself whenever you pick it up. It only looks like it does in the pictures when it's completely full of wadded paper (like in the pictures) making it awkward to carry. Unfortunately, I will be returning it.
Nice enough bag, but the web description is incorrect in two details, both of which are important to me. First, there is NO water bottle holder. Second, the packaging is marked in two places as weighing 1.41 pounds (confirmed by my luggage scale), NOT the 1.2 pounds listed on the web page. I purchased this for an upcoming trip with carry-on restrictions, both number and weight, so an extra 18% in weight and no bottle space become big deals. Basically, it's a nice enough bag, but REI mislead me and wasted my time.
I already have the Osprey Hikelite 18 rucksack which I use on a daily basis. The Osprey Daylite 30 Duffel Bag adds to my carrying capacity and will be particularly useful for overnight stays. It is robust and of excellent quality and is perfect for carrying what I will need on my back, which is much more comfortable for me. Excellent service from John Lewis, as usual, with the convenience of being able to pick up my purchase at my local Waitrose, without the need to wait at home for delivery.
I recently traveled via Spirit and didn't want to pay for a carry on. So got this for my personal bag (free) for a weekend get away. It was perfect size. Fit everything and then some. Easy access to items needed while traveling without the hassle of trying to find where I put it because it moved. Love that I can trow it over my shoulder or use it as a backpack. It stays open too. Got one in Grey & blue. One for me & one for my son.
Very well made and just the size I wanted. Adequate zippered pockets to secure the different types of items. Will make a great overnight bag! Using mostly as a gym bag though. I don't use the name duffel to describe it because it has more structure than a typical duffel bag.
Checks all the boxes. I wanted a bag sized to do all. I can take it to the gym, use as an overnight/weekend bag, or even carry-on if need be. I own several Osprey products and known have done me wrong. Products built to last, and I believe this product holds that standard.
My love for Osprey began with the previous model of the Transporter duffel - a simple duffel with straps that can be used like a backpack. My wife decided to take that pack, so I bought a 2017 Transporter, and it didn't really feel like the same bag at all. The straps were much more complicated, and there were fewer exterior pockets as well. The new Daylite Duffel brought back what I loved from the older Transporter series: quality materials, simple design, and hassle-free usability. If you need something to carry stuff for a weekend, or a short trip with no checked bags through an airport, this is the one to get.
