I contacted customer service several weeks ago to verify which were correct. They said the description dimensions were correct. After receiving the bag, it turns out that neither is correct. It is more like 11"H x 23"W x 12"D. So beware if you need either the height or the depth to be at least 16". I brought this to the attention of the customer service representative a few weeks ago but received no reply.

It’s a quality bag. I had one for many years. that was same color and same material. Didn’t have the straps for carrying like a back pack. I don’t know if I’m going to like them or not. If I get the same years of use as the other one, I will be very happy! It was on many trips.

The bag works great if you’re using it to carry a lot of stuff. Definitely lots of room to pack for a weekend getaway. Straps are padded and comfy. Side pockets work well for all the little things you need to carry. However, the bag is unstructured. It will droop and be awkward to carry if not completely full. Would be nice to have compression straps inside the bag to keep things from moving.
This bad does exactly what I wanted it to do. It appears smaller than its actual volume, but it's the perfect size for weekend trips for a man with size medium/large clothes. Having the shoulder straps is very convenient, especially for hotel checkout when my arms are too full with other items. If you look around, Osprey sells a "matching" black shoulder sling strap, in case you don't want to use the dual shoulder straps. Downsides: top is a little tricky to keep open due to back pad (not a bid deal), and should sling is sold separately.
I love that this bag can be carried as a backpack. I have back issues, so carrying a bag off only one shoulder had become an issue for me. This bag comfortably holds my swim fins, hand paddles, towel, flipflops, clothes and shower kit. The zipper that opens at the top makes accessibility easy. Front pocket is great to hold items I don't want to lose including a clip for keys. The end pocket is big enough to hold my phone and wallet with license. Highly recommend and grateful to have found a duffle that meets my needs.
This is my second Osprey bag and I will never buy anything else! In love with my bag! I went for something bigger this time, and the 60L duffel is perfect for weekends away or even longer - it has so much space! And handy pockets. I added my own shoulder strap for easy carry.
This bag is smaller than a Patagonia 55 liter "Black Hole" duffel (I have several), so it's definitely not 60 liters by comparison. I also calculated the volume based on length x width x height, and it works out closer to 50 liters (and there's some volume loss due to the slight taper from bottom to top that you can see in the photos). It's definitely not 16 inches wide as stated in the specs (more like 13), except maybe when it's empty. With that said, it's nice Osprey quality and will hopefully last for years, just with less capacity than I expected.
I Love this bag. I generally find Osprey gear overbuilt - great quality and durability - but just too much weight in the construction. But this duffel has been perfect - its light, tough and quite comfortable to adapt as a backpack for short hauls...Perfect for carry on only travel. I reckon I need another one for the Memsahib now! (she also loves it!)
