I bought this a few weeks ago to take for a casual day bag for outings. I really tried to like this pack. Unfortunately the strap is extremely cumbersome for such a tiny bag. Also you cannot sling it around to the front very easily, you basically have to take it off. You can fit maybe a couple bottles of water and a few small things. The biggest complaint though is the darn strap. The strap is made for a full size back pack. It sticks out not laying very flat.

We have 2 of the older version of the sling bags and were excited about the improvements. We were sadly disappointed. The strap is so rough that it rubbed my neck and shoulder so much the irritation for hours after using. It probably would have rubbed them raw if I wasn't constantly adjusting them to stop touching those hot spots. The strap to tighten the strap is also annoying. It doesn’t lock in place so it is constantly getting pulled out so you have this loop hanging off the strap. Osprey had a good bag before, yet they made adjustments to the bag that were unnecessary. The double zippers and being able to change the strap direction are the only real improvements everything else makes the bag unusable for us.

Bought this in cosmic red during the anniversary sale and love it so much. Yes the bag is on the smaller size - it is a sling bag so it’s not supposed to be big - but it’s just the right size for a day trip/ hike where you only need to carry the essentials (phone, card holder, small water bottle and room for a few other items you pick up along the way). I was worried about whether I’d like the sling/over one shoulder style and whether it’d be comfortable, but the extra padding around the shoulder strap works to alleviate any pain that I thought I’d have. Anyway love the bag and pop of red. Great buy during the anniversary sale and well worth the sale price.

I purchased this to use during my trip overseas. It worked wonderfully, but I noticed it was just a tad too big. I have found that most slings are either too small to too big. I still found this very useful and secure. You have to make sure you adjust it well, as it can slide and before you know it, its under your arm or you are wearing it as an unintended backpack. The pockets worked wonderfully and it allowed me to move around while traveling with ease. I would recommend this product.

I have a large smartphone (Note 20 Ultra) with a beefy protective case and it fits no problem ... plus there is even room to spare for other items like a small wallet, pack of tissues, keys etc. Lightweight. Uncomplicated design with some organization. Main compartment sleeve/pocket is plenty big enough to hold a Kindle Paperwhite SE ereader plus a large insulated water bottle, snacks, and more. While the top opening theoretically would work for the right-to-left shoulder swap available with the strap (which is now on an annoying swivel attachment at a small point, making it unstable), the top zippers render the sling virtually unusable when you pull it around to the front to get something out of. The previous version never had anything fall out of because it functions as a pouch when on your chest. The new version has interior pockets which are also vertically oriented, making everything slide out when the sling is moved to the chest. As a wheelchair user, I find using a sling bag to be the most functional and convenient carry option.
Just arrived. I wore it around the house with two water bottles, cell phone, and keys. Room for more! Perfect for long walk while dogs run free. Very comfortable, mostly padded adjustable strap. I prefer to sling it across my front for easy access. Main opening has two zippers that meet at top, each extending 3/4 way down on each side, so no struggling to pull things out. A couple smaller pockets inside, including a zippered mesh pocket with an inside latch-hook to keep your key safe. Roomy front pocket on outside for cell phone. Soft padded back with thick shoulder pad. Lightweight. This is a no nonsense, no frills bag, perfect for light, on-the-go adventure. Well done!
I bought this for bicycling and long walks. The size is perfect for me and it is quite comfortable to wear — most of the time. Size-wise, I was able to carry a rain jacket and a zippered sweater along with some pocket items on a 60 mile ride that prompted my purchase. The fit was great on my bike, however, it slipped around quite a bit even. The grippy texture on the bag’s back slides on my bike jersey and rain jacket’s smooth materials. This left me frequently adjusting it back in place. The grip was fine against my sweatshirt. I will try adding a strap to keep it in place when I use it on long rides while dressed like that. I can easily fit my U-lock and cable into it and still have room for a sweatshirt. the pockets are well thought out, giving me a place to secure pocket items that might otherwise get easily lost. It almost closes around my 9” iPad — just enough to secure it but not enough to get the zipper around it. That was a pleasant surprise as I left for a longish morning walk today. The bag gripped my canvas jacket and felt like I wasn’t carrying a thing.My 5* rating is because the bag is imperfect for some things and perfect for others. That’s exactly how gear should be.
I was shopping for a sling bag/pouch that was functional yet portable. This bag was the one to get out of all the other bags. It was more affordable than some other brands, durable, plenty of space (with a mesh zipper inside one of the pockets, and the sling strap attachment is interchangeable to either side, so you can wear it on either shoulder you prefer. It’s comfy for all day use and easy to access your belongings. I recommend this osprey sling to anyone who is still deciding.
