Osprey did it again with Hikelite 18L Daypack! Perfect backpack to hit a trail or go around in the city. Do not be fooled by 18L - it can fit more stuff than other backpacks claiming more than 20L! Side pockets are holding even big and tall bottle very secure. Top pocket has enough space to fit a wallet, glasses case, keys and a granola bar. Water bladder compartment could be used for storing smaller items as well, if not used for water. The frame and the belt keep the weight off the shoulders and the mesh allow air to cool your back. It opens wide to allow for easy packing. I think it has all the day hiker can wish for.

This bag is amazing can't believe it's only 32l went on four days hiking with it (accommodation). But am going to take it next summer Hiking/camping. Pockets on waist strap excellent one zipped great for phone. Big top opening allowed excellent viability of items inside so didn't have to empty bag out to find stuff. Good secure poket in top with key clip. Stuffed my coat in stuff straps at front for convenience quick in and out for changing weather. All in all fantastic 😁

I am very happy with backback. It is an excellent choice for day hikes and outdoor adventures. Its lightweight design, durable materials, and well-ventilated back panel make it comfortable to wear for extended periods. This is the first higher end pack I have ever had. I purchased it right before a trip to Iceland. It has plenty of room for all of the layers, food and other gear needed for longer day expeditions. The included rain fly works great too! I love the simple frame for a bit of rigidity and how the pack sits with a just enough gap to not rest against your back, providing nice air flow. I can't wait to take it on some 14er hikes and other adventures this summer! I will certainly look to Osprey for future pack purchases.
The Hikelite 32 is a great pack overall , it is my everyday bag and also my weekend backpacking bag . The main compartment is large and spacious , and I quite like the hydration sleeve for my water bladder . There are some smaller pockets to keep different items such as the top lid , the under side of the lid and a zippered compartment on the front of the bag .My only issue with the bag is that there are not much compartment for storing smaller items , I love to keep different category items together and separate them with the rest , but i cant do it with this bag. I need to store all personal items such as headlamp , wallet phone powerbank etc on the top lid , the front compartment is too small to store a jacket or other clothing. And i wish there are more compartments such as adding another layer on the top lid and maybe a small compartment in the front of the bag.Overall , its a versatile bag that can suit all of my needs and it gets the job done. If there are more smaller compartment for storing items and more choice for colors then it woulld be perfect.
I have been using this pack a few times a week for about a month. I love the mesh pockets on the sides, and the small pockets on the lid. The straps fit nicely so they don't rub or cut into my neck. The only feature I don't love is the resistance on the drawstring that closes the top of the pack. It is a bit hard/annoying to open and close. If you need to access the main part of the bag frequently you might get tired of the opening/closing process. Or, maybe it will get easier with more use...?
Great new bag from Osprey, very pleased with it, lots of useful compartments, good size for day trips and possibly weekend. Padded waist strap with pockets for snacks was well received and comfortable to wear. Breathable section worked well , tested on extremely showery day , contents completely dry and bright rain cover added bonus for finding daughter in crowded air show! Very pleased with build quality and materials would definitely recommend, thank you 😊
This pack is well made and Osprey has a lifetime warranty if your pack fails in any way. The back ventilation feature keeps the pack from sitting directly on your back causing moisture build up. It acts like a breezeway. There are plenty of pockets for storage. The stretchy flap on the outside of the pack is a bonus feature for wet gear. I was u decided between the 26L and the 28L. I found this pack a bit to tall (because of the frame) forMy intended use. I returned this one and bought the 26L. Very happy with my choice.
This is a very light pack for it's capacity, and between the resources on Altitude Sports webpage and Osprey's pack-fitting video, it fit me well. I was looking for a light pack for a Camino, consistent with International airline carry-on sizing. One point docked as the hip-belt is a 1" strap, not as ergonomically comfortable as a broader belt (perhaps unless you have chiselled abs) , but this is part of weight saving and would not be an issue for day hikes - this pack has plenty of capacity for shoulder -season hikes where bringing clothing layers and extra safety supplies is important.
Bought this pack for long day hikes, with the added capacity for the 3L bladder, its made itself indispensable for a go bag in my car. Usually carry 2 camp knives, tarp, folding saw, bank line, compass, poncho, extra jacket, water filtration, days worth of food, and other do-dads. I've taken it out several times in mid-TN during a dry season and I like that it covers all the bases with hydration via bladder, has a separate pocket for the rain cover, two top pockets with the exterior being for the poncho, interior for keys. front pocket for everything like maps etc...Adjust-ability is limited against other packs but is sufficient enough to be more than comfortable. For what it is and getting it on-sale, it is definitely a pack that has more than enough space. Would ... However it is executed very well, so don't expect hip pouches or tie downs for hiking poles. It's rather slim for a pack too, so I'd avoid it if you're portlier than a twig. Side pouches for water bottles are awkward as they only load from the top and require taking off the pack to grab them as they tend to ride high. The waist strap is minimal without much material to grip onto the sides so most of the pack is supported by the shoulders and the chest strap which does require periodic re-tightening.Overall best bag for the volume for price. I do plan on buying another Osprey bag for overnight trips and will keep using this bag on future trips.
