Nice pack. Carries well skiing, doesn't weigh much, well organized. Fairly true to 32 liter size as advertised, just big enough for me for cold and long day tours. Enough pockets (1 exterior top good-sized zipper pocket, 1 exterior zippered belt pocket for incidentals, 1 easily accessed interior zipper pocket, 2 internal drop pockets, plus the whole avy-tools section, and the exterior velcro-closure helmet net stash pocket if you want to count that. Some concern about long term durability (more than a few years) of the external avy-tools and top-pocket zippers, they are pretty lightweight items, but that's sort of standard nowadays.... The main compartment zipper is massive, which is good.Have only skied with it a few times, no ski carrying yet, really liking it ... MoreNice pack. This pack is nearly perfect. I have been using this pack for three seasons now as my everyday resort pack and the pack I take most often for short tours or sidecountry work. At 22L it is the perfect size for the essentials, has a well thought out and laid out pocket system, is very durable and has a bunch of nice ski specific details. The only problem I have had with this pack is the helmet holder. The holder is attached to the pack via dowels threaded through nylon loops, it is pretty easy for the dowels to come out of the loops and it is a super pain to thread them back through. Once you have owned the pack for a while you will get the hang of resolving this, but it is a bit annoying and fiddly. Other than that though, this thing is great, fit is spot on, 6'2", ... MoreThis pack is nearly perfect. Highly recommend!

Ordered two packs, returned this one - so review is just based on inspecting the two in hand and reviewing features and organization. I did not use this pack in the field. I'm an Osprey fanboi so leaned towards this one, and have only ever had great experiences with their products. I found the Ortovox Cross Rider 22 to have basically the same features and setup with a few things I preferred. Both had back panel main access, a-frame and diagonal carry, ice axe loops, and a stashed helmet net. The Ortovox though had a cleaner and simpler implementations especially the diagonal carry - the Osprey seemed oriented towards snowboards - AND it had a hip pocket and access to the main panel from the front via a hybrid emergency pocket setup. Went with the Orto and hope it lives up to quality and durability expectations.

Great pack. Well thought out details. This is replacing my osprey kode 30 from 10 years ago (still going strong, btw). Excellent back and tool pocket access. Comfortable carry, very lightweight. Straps are comfortable. Only improvements for me would be waist pockets on both sides, and a wider waist strap/buckle.
Although I haven't used it yet, it fits great (compact and snug), the construction quality looks good, and storage compartments and harnesses are as expected from description. I ordered it for preseason prep, cycling, and day hikes. Seems like a very good value. I anticipate 5 stars after first use.
This is a good pack overall, but it's missing a few things to make it great. It has intelligent design and organization, and great quality, comfort, and fit that you've come to expect and appreciate from Osprey. For the most part this pack is very functional and comfortable when fully loaded. However, it needs a bit of refinement. The helmet carry is frustrating. Nearly every time it's stowed for the downhill, the next time I pull it out for skinning one of the sides is detached. This happens regardless of top or back carry orientation. I appreciate the flexibility but it's a pain to fiddle with threading the barrel through the tiny tucked away loop to connect it again with or without gloves, and not something I want to do every time I use it.The hydration tube ... MoreThis is a good pack overall, but it's missing a few things to make it great. I appreciate the flexibility but it's a pain to fiddle with threading the barrel through the tiny tucked away loop to connect it again with or without gloves, and not something I want to do every time I use it.The hydration tube sleeve is not insulated, which doesn't make sense for a snow-specific pack. Finally, it's not ideal for splitboarders as the only carry methods are with the board fully assembled. The ski carry loops on the side of the pack are reinforced and look awesome. However, they're about an inch too narrow to be useful to carry a board when it's split into skis. The vertical board carry is fine for short distances but it puts the board too far away from your body and therefore more work to carry for long periods. Horizontal behind the backpack straps works of course but takes up a lot of horizontal space so not ideal for narrow passages. With these things fixed I would use this pack all the time! As it stands, I regrettably have to look elsewhere.
Just bought this for a trek to Tuckerman's. All in all a good pack, does what I need it to do and comfortable. My only concern is that after only a single outing I can see some slight wear on the sides from where my ski edges were. I would think that this parts would be constructed of a more durable material than the rest of the pack. Will have to see how it holds up over time, but at least I have the Osprey warranty to fall back on if needed.
Bought this pack for backcountry skiing and it has been working great. Solidly constructed with all sorts of organizational pieces specific to backcountry skiing - proper place for shovel/transceiver/probe, back opening to keep your back dry when setting it down in snow for transitions, goggle pouch, helmet holder, ski/board straps etc. Really engineered to support skiing and adjustable in natural ways for a good fit. One of those purchases that you will feel good about and appreciate all the thought that has been put into it!
I bought the Osprey Soelden pack to get some additional volume over my Stratos 24 for winter use when I carry more gear. Surprisingly, the 32-liter Soelden has less volume than the Stratos 24, so it's not usable for its intended purpose. This packs more like a 22-liter pack and lacks any side pockets, so the useable volume is even less.
Got it as a small pack for both outdoors and urban use.Compartments- Big space between your back to the back of the bagpack, can easily fit shoes, clothes, water, etc.- Flat compartment in the front, suitable for even a laptop. (have used it to shove 2 laptops and an iPad.)Fit- Nestles very snugly and you can definitely run with it and it still feels secure.- Back panel is firm but not uncomfortable- Pretty breathable even for use in high humidity climate. (based in Asia). Can be abit heavy given its material and paddings.Overall, pretty versatile and definitely valued for money.
