I am a huge fan of Osprey bags for camping/hiking/etc. This one is no different. It is a great bag that is really well designed and really well constructed. It is a great hiking backpack but can definitely be used on a day to day. The only word of warning I would give (which is actually a compliment), is that you have to be careful to find the right fit. It is amazing that they make this backpack in multiple sizes, and make a women's version in multiple sizes too. Once you find the right one for you it will fit perfectly. Not many backpacks make different sizes to find the perfect fit. Bravo Osprey!

This backpack is exactly what I was looking for. I use it as my everyday back to and from work and there is more than enough space for that. When my family and I go on excursions it holds all the necessities and some. I have two young boys and it keeps all their stuff (Diaper's, bottles and toys) and mine with ease. I was surprised to see that the outer flexible sleeve will hold my 64oz hydro flask as well. The pack is extremely comfortable and the build in back support makes all the difference in the world. I anticipated having a sore back from carrying a heavy back but the back support and straps do all the work for me. I have used the ice pick holder as a fishing pole holder and it fits like a dream. Highly recommend this pack!!

So I looked at this pack side by side with my current Talon 22 (a couple years old model), last years model, and this new one. The newest version doesn't feel as solid or as quality, maybe it's the recycled material. The new pack's shoulder padding feels flimsy compared to last years. Additionally the top accessory pocket and the interior accessory pocket feel like they are either smaller or sewn tighter. After looking more closely the top panel zippered slash pocket is definitely smaller than previous year versions. In the older version the internal pocket was sewn onto the larger top panel packet. Now the top panel is just as small as the internal pocket. The two pockets are essentially two sides of the same pouch with a divider. Just got back from a 12 day road trip with aggressive hiking in many state and national parks. This pack just doesn't hold up like the old one. I had great difficulty inserting a filled 1.5 liter, 2 Liter or 3 liter hydration bladder in the sleeve. My old pack has no problems, but this was a battle every time. Once the bladder is in, the weight of it collapsed and bent the support across the top so that it was very difficult to access the top zipper pocket. The top zip pocket (where you keep keys and small items) is way smaller in the newer model to my disappointment. I when I slide in a standard 14" laptop, the new bag is just barely able to span for this while the old bag it few well. The new bag does have larger side mesh pockets for wider water bottles and now fits a Nalgene, the old one did not. The left shoulder stretchy pocket is now a folded over pocket with a button to snap it closed. I keep my wireless headphones in it. It is really comfortable on my back and the waist and chest straps really help to make it extra cozy. The back part is adjustable so you can really customize it for your body. I'm 5'4" with short legs so I got the S/M size and it's fine.I can fit a thin hat in one of the waist pockets and cowl in the other so it's nice to have those things handy. I want to get an ice axe just now just so I can attach it even though I don't think I would get much use here in San Francisco. I think it also has a lifetime warranty.
Make sure you carefully measure yourself based on the size chart instructions and order the right size backpack. This is my first non-Amazon backpack, and the reason they're so comfortable is that they're fitted. I previously got a womens large of a different model and went with a L/XL here.This pack stands out for the variety of pockets available. There's a stretchy pocket out the back and another stretchy pocket on the shoulder strap (if you want to stow a snack, small bottle, etc. Not sure this would fit a phone). There's a zippered pocket on the inside with a key ring. And finally there's a zippered top pocket, similar to a goggle pocket on a ski touring pack. Finally, I'm really stoked there's two side hip strap pockets.
