I put an embarrassing amount of time into trying to pick my daypack. I wanted to be able to do huge, full day hikes or something light. One pack to work for all situations. The 30l size cinches down enough to work on half day hikes to make this work for me. Where it excels is the back suspension system and the materials, as well as the open top brain and pack access. It is a bit between a cross between the Talon and Stratos systems of suspension and air flow. The *only* downside— for me— is that it does not have the stow and go pole feature. Your poles will store but you’ll need to take the pack off to do it. I bought this pack to carry a little extra when doing day hikes with scouts. I choose this one over the basic pack because of the little extras. You will not be disappointed! It is worth going for the pro! Everything I wanted and then some!
I’ve tried a number of small lightweight backpacks for day hiking or ultralight overnight trips, this one is far and away the best I have ever used. Super light super comfortable to wear. Great features, pockets, pouches and strapping without getting excessive and heavy. Wish I could give it more than five stars!
