Osprey Transporter 65 Duffel Bag [Colour:Venturi Blue]
The mid-sized Osprey Transporter 65 duffel can serve as your everyday gear bag or as a checked travel duffel for far-ranging excursions. It is constructed of tough, water-resistant recycled fabric that repurposes plastic bottles that would otherwise go to waste. An integrated harness with an adjustable sternum strap that doubles as a safety whistle allows you to carry the duffel like a backpack and it safely stows away when not needed or when you're checking the bag or stowing it in an overhead. Four padded handles allow you to grab the duffel however you find most convenient. The 3900+ cubic inch weather-protected main compartment is accessed through a large, lockable U-shaped zipper (lock not included). There is also an internal zippered mesh pocket and a zippered end pocket for items you want to put hands on quickly. Multiple attachment points allow you to lash gear externally. The main body of the duffel utilizes bluesign-approved 900D PFC-free DWR TPU-coated recycled polyester with 600D versions of that same material utilized on the bottom and as accents. This grants the duffel excellent weather-resistance and long-lived durability. The Osprey Transporter 65 duffel is available in your choice of colors.

I bought this bag for a 3 week trip through Scandinavia and couldn't be happier with it. Between my wife and I, we also own a 60L Patagonia Blackhole and a 95L TNF Basecamp Duffel. I like different things about each, but my favorite is the Osprey and if we ever need another duffel bag for hauling gear I'd grab the Osprey Transporter over the other 2. The biggest plus to the Transporter is the backpack straps. They are by far more comfortable and well thought out on how they carry, especially for heavier loads. We both like how they tuck into the top of the bag when not in use and how they attached slightly down from the top which is what helps the bag carry so much better and more like a backpack than just a duffel with straps thrown on to it as an afterthought. One thing we did like more on the Patagonia was the divided lid zipper on the top flap, and we both just love Patagonia as a company usually makes me want to buy from them when I can. All 3 bags held up great to the travel and snow, no real rain to test with on this last trip but from what I've noticed so far I would expect it to hold up the same as the Patagonia but still might give a slight edge to the TNF until I have more real-world experience with it.

I never knew a duffel bag could be so nice! Gone are the days of gym membership bags with holes in the corners and thread coming loose everywhere. This bag is the real deal, as expected from Osprey. I needed a better duffel and given the consistent quality & thoughtfulness that go in their products, and the unbelievably good warranty service, I just had to go with Osprey again. The harness stows away, there's a shoulder strap, 4 sturdy handles, it even comes inside of a zip pouch that doubles as a packing cube for use inside the duffel. Some have said that it's not as sturdy as other high end alternatives... it looks incredibly sturdy to me, and if there's any issue Osprey will replace it anyway.I got the red so I could spot it more easily in a pile of luggage/on a ... MoreI never knew a duffel bag could be so nice! This bag is SOOO much bigger on the inside than it looks! Bought for my daughter who is going on a 3 week boat trip. It looks a little small after unpacking it so as a test she dumped her entire laundry hamper, which looked 3x bigger, into this bag & still had room left over! Very sturdy construction & very comfortable shoulder straps. We also looked at North Face, Patagonia, Helly Hansen & Mystery Ranch soft collapsible duffels. I'm really glad we went with the Osprey Transporter 95!

There are many places where a rolling bag doesn't make sense, bumpy pavement, cobble stone streets, no streets to roll a bag. This is very helpful. Used it for my Italy trip from the airport to the hotel locations. Used a smaller backpack for my day trips. If you need to haul alot of stuff to/from your transportation facility to your hotel, this is great.
Bought this for a trip to europe in a couple months. I would like to take my RTIC duffle but needed something with wheels. The construction of this duffle is decent - the seams are sown, not welded and the material seems much less durable than the RTIC. That might be because osprey is using recycled materials. Great in theory but will it last? My 10 year old RTICs have survived blizzards, rain, dust, sand and haboobs in the back of my truck, while keeping everything clean and dry inside. we'll see how this does. At least it has a good warranty.
The backpack straps on this duffle are really outstanding and much more comfortable than Patagonia, Eagle Creek and the others. The fabric is heavy duty and it is very sleek especially for airport travel. It does have tie down loops that are flat sewn so it still gives the option to lash the bag down while maintaining a sleek profile. The exterior end pocket is hard to get into and only suitable for very small/flat items. This is a good bag, but it is also expensive for a duffle. I ended up returning it, but it is worthy of serious consideration.
I was surprised at how well made and robust this bag actually is. The only exception to what is stated in the description is that the bag doesn't actually include a shoulder strap, I don't even need one since backpack harnesses can do the job instead. 65 L gives you plenty of room for longer trips and I plan to use it to carry my complete climbing gear to the climbing wall, with room left over for some extra stuff. I would recommend this bag to anyone.
This duffel is great for travel where you want a minimalist bag offering just a couple pockets (one internal and one external) and one giant compartment for you to dump everything. This allows you to maximize space usage by minimizing how much space and weight the bag itself takes up. The way the bag is not rigid also allows it to be squished and shaped to fit into plane compartments, assuming you don't pack it too full. Since the body of the bag is almost entirely TPU laminated polyester, it is weatherproof and also easy to clean. The easy conversion to a backpack greatly eases the effort for carrying. One thing to keep in mind is that the current version of the duffel is different from what you see in many reviews/videos online and changed sometime in the past 1-2 ... MoreThis duffel is great for travel where you want a minimalist bag offering just a couple pockets (one internal and one external) and one giant compartment for you to dump everything. Since the body of the bag is almost entirely TPU laminated polyester, it is weatherproof and also easy to clean. The easy conversion to a backpack greatly eases the effort for carrying. One thing to keep in mind is that the current version of the duffel is different from what you see in many reviews/videos online and changed sometime in the past 1-2 yrs (I have the older version too). The current one has a softer outer material which is both thicker/heavier feeling but also much more prone to showing scratches/scuffs. It is more glossy than the previous one which was very matte and also more rigid. The current material is uniform throughout the body whereas the previous version had a ballistic nylon for the bottom half which is much more rugged and less prone to scratches. The current one also has more prominent logos whereas the previous, especially for the black one, had a much more subtle look where the logos were darker and blended in. The current version also lacks the shoulder strap and associated attachment points, but the backpack straps are beefier which is generally good but does make them use more space and slightly more difficult to set up and tuck away. Overall I like the previous version better, mostly b/c of the look/feel of materials used, but the current one is still very good and it's hard to find an alternative that offers almost the same things as this bag.
Bought the Transporter 65 for long haul travel. Love this pack, it is so versatile and can be used as a carry style or converted to a ruck sack. Has carry handles on every side and the handles are very comfortable. You can fit a lot into it including some longer items too due to the length. Great robust and quality materials, including the zip. Would highly recommend.
I will say osprey bettered Patagonia Blackhole with 2 aspects. Size and depth, thoughtful design of internal pouch over shoulder straps. There is always a trade off with each feature. Osprey knew which aspect will please most of its customers.Got 65L for my 11 year old son for his scout trips. He loves it. Gave me a feedback about a water bottle pouch. Hmmm
