The Osram Antibacterial AShape light globe uses photocatalytic layer technology which provides an invisible nano coating applied to the globe. The nano coating is activated when the light is switched on. Natural air circulation brings germs and odours in contact with the coating, where they are decomposed and neutralized. The coating fights airborne germs including Escherichi coli (E coli), H1N1 (Flu) and Staphylococcus aureus. The more light bulbs used in a room, the greater the effectiveness or percentage of germs killed.
