Falling apart after less than a year.

I purchased this in May of 2020 from the Apple store, after determining that Apple’s own folio case would not offer appropriate protection for my iPad. After less than a year, this case is already falling apart. The gray color is peeling from it, the flap is staring to come away from the rest of the case, and even the frame is peeling where the USB-C cable plugs in. My iPad Pro has spent its entire life on my nightstand as my e-reader and entertainment device, so it’s not like I’m subjecting it to an especially-harsh environment. Garbage, truly.I paid almost $100 after tax for this case, and I’m just astounded that this is what I get for that kind of money. The backside is made of plastic, and the rest is falling apart, so where is the value in this case? Good, but not exactly worthy of the price tag

Having read many good reviews of this product, I purchased it with so much hope. this case feels sturdy, and is able to give my iPad all around protection. However, there are a few minor flaws of the case upon arrival. The soft wrapping around the volume button gapes noticeably, and there are a few scratches on the back of the case when it came. While these flaws are not significant enough that I want to go through the trouble to returning or exchanging the product, it sure is disappointing.

Great Case

Overall it's a great case. I mainly used my Ipad to take notes for my college courses so it gets thrown in a bag and used alot. I love the design and it feels great in the hand. The front leather is alittle delicate and I've scuffed it in a few places. The flap to cover the pencil is great, but when I'm using the case as a stand it always ends up flopping around. While it is a bit pricey, I really enjoy this case. If I had to purchase another case for my iPad, this would be it.

Great case
30 May 2020

I’ve been using this case for over a month now. Fits my iPad Pro 11 perfect. Trifold works great. My only complaint is the angle of the iPad when using the stand is more than I wish it had mainly when FaceTiming from the coffee table while I’m on the couch. I have to put something under it to prop it up more. But if your at your desk the angle is great. An improvement for this case would be two options. One with the pencil securing flap and one without as I don’t use a pencil.

Great slim case
2 July 2020

This is a thin, comfortable, and sturdy case. It's also a nice color! Maroon but somewhat understated so it doesn't stick out. Haven't dropped the iPad (...yet) so I can't speak to drop protection but it does feel like it will provide adequate protection.

It's ok if you don't want actually use your pencil
22 May 2021

The spring loaded mechanism that grabs on to the pencil probably seemed like a good a idea. But I get the feeling that the people that designed it didn't bother to try it to see how well it works. It holds onto the pencil too firmly , you won't accidently lose your pencil unless it goes flying when you try to pry from its clutches . I decided to return it to Apple and buy the previous version.

Just what I was hoping for
11 June 2020

Ordered this online and the process was very simple. When it arrived, it was exactly as described and it fit perfectly. No hassle or struggle. Using it has been as described in reviews and the high rating has been validated. Overall, a very good purchase and well worth the wait. Otterbox was one of immediate go tos since my iPhone and my previous iPad both had otterbox cases. I also used an otterbox as a small tool box in my car. Good product and worth the premium.

Not up to the Otterbox Standard
12 July 2020

I bought this as I’ve have symmetry cases on all of my apple products for atleast the last 5 years, they have done well protecting them. This case just isn’t it. The securing flap is awkward, the front cover is flimsy, and the actual hard case does not secure the tablet at all. I have to be careful when setting it up as the iPad pops out of it very easily. I’m kinda of stuck with it at the moment as they’re aren’t many cases without the keyboard. But I will be looking to replace it. This is an expensive case to have this level of quality issues, it’s almost like it wasn’t tested.

Wears Out Quickly
11 August 2021

I’ve had my iPad Pro 11 for three years and am on my third Symmetry Case. I use the iPad extensively, more than my PC on most days. Over time , once a year for me, the material on the cover starts fraying from using your finger or nail to open the cover so much I’ve had to replace the cover. If it wears out within the one year warranty period, you are forced to return the case ( and go without a case) until Otterbox evaluates your claim and replaces it (if they decide to do so). Not a great range of options.Although I’ve been a devoted Defender Case for my iPhones, I find that it’s just too heavy and overkill based on how and where I use my ipad.I recommend the case only if you want a light weight option, it caveat emptor, if you are opening and closing this ... MoreI’ve had my iPad Pro 11 for three years and am on my third Symmetry Case. Well constructed with minor flaws
19 November 2020

Overall the case is quite nice—it fits well, protects the device, and is well made. I take off a star because the case makes the buttons on the iPad rather difficult to press and with the cover open the rear camera is covered and unusable. It also adds considerably bulk and weight to the device. Ultimately I’d buy again, but I’d be much happier if the buttons weren’t so stiff with the case on.
