I wish I had these when I hiked the Grand Canyon's Rim to Rim. These gloves are the most cool and comfortable I've had. They feel like wearing nothing. They fit tighter than other brands. I have two pairs: Small and Medium. I wear the Medium on longer hikes, as my hands swell because I hike in the heat. As a reference, I have thin hands, I wear a 4.5 size engagement ring. I need more colors!

Hands down (or up) the best sun glove on the planet. I bought a second pair immediately after finding these and am seriously glad I did as OR decided to stop making them in field green directly thereafter. I'm an avid birder and after gifting friends and family a few pairs of these, I did a series of experiments wearing the light gray and the green, noting at what range birds were spooked when I brought up my binoculars. The results surprised me. I expected some difference but found that I could get twice as close up to ~15 feet vs 30 feet or more when birds were clearly scared by a moderately fast raising of the hands with the binocs. OR, please bring back a good field green for those of us who use these for animal research/observation. I also use these when doing ... MoreHands down (or up) the best sun glove on the planet. Brilliant.

I used my titanium grey gloves for the first time on a 4 day backpacking trip recently and could not believe how quickly they became stained from normal use. I hand-washed the gloves when I got home and the stains are permanent.Previously I owned a pair of these gloves in black and obviously never had this same staining issue. I got these titanium grey gloves as a replacement from OR since the black pair had a defect on the thumb, which I'm very appreciative of, but these are not the same. I recommend only buying this product in a dark color.

I love these gloves. The fabric is soft and light, and the color is subtle and very pretty. The price was reasonable. Putting on these gloves is so so much better than greasy sunscreen, which comes off anyway if you need to wash your hands. I keep these gloves in my purse, so I always have them easily accessible.
I purchased two pairs of these gloves this year. I do not recommend if you are using these day after day. I needed these for high desert and high altitude hiking. They are soft & comfortable. However, both pairs immediately formed a hole in the space between the thumbs and index fingers at least 2 days after first use. I wish they were more durable. Would not recommend if you are using them for a long trip.
I've been paddling in these for a year now. They protect my hands from the sun and help grip the paddle. Great for hiking also. If the get wet they dry in minutes. Recently I went for a drive in my sports car on a sunny day and wore them. Worked great. Protected from the sun and gripped the wheel. Easy washing too.
I love these sun gloves. I have two pairs: Small and Medium. The Small fits just fine, but I purchased a 2nd pair in a Size Medium for longer day hikes in the heat. I mostly hike at the Dry Forest in Puerto Rico and it gets HOT, so my hands and feet swell. As a reference, I wear a size Small in REI and Sunday Afternoons Sun Gloves, both brands run larger than OR. My wrist measures 5 1/2 inches and I wear a 4.5 US engagement ring.
I used a pair of these gloves during my Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hike in September and they were perfect when the sun came up during the long one-day 27-mile trip. I used hiking poles and the use of the thin fingerless gloves was perfect to provide some protection while holding the poles and the sun as temperatures closed in on close to 100 degrees at the bottom. I just bought a second pair with a different color for more adventures.
l've been using the "Sun Gloves" since 2020. To me, they are a must. I used them while crossing Scotland from bottom to top (and other hikes like the CWT, WHW, AKW) or doing multiple thru-hikes in Scandinavia (Kungslden, Nordkalottleden, Nordlandsruta). They do provide a bit or warmth even when wet. They offer some scratch protection if you were to fall (don't ask me why l know). In bags season, the extra layer keeps those nasty 'suckers' (pan intended) busy trying to bite you through the fabric (= you get less bites). They are 'as midges proof as they can be' (nothing is midge proof, mind you).If you want to see them in action check out my YouTube channel "Always Forward"!
I have been using OR products for 30 years including their gloves. I am a size L as their gloves tend to run a little big. These sun gloves are excellent for thru hiking. I now do 1000 mile hikes every year. OR has a manufacturing spec problem. I bought the same gloves 2 years ago and they are proper sized. The ones I bought last week are effective a size small. They fit my wife who is petite. OR said I could return them at my expense. Maybe next time I order the gloves they will be made for smurfs?
