Mostly good design and materials, but poor execution. The elastic that holds the gaiters up is too thin and needs to be so tight that it cuts of circulation and leaves an irritating, somewhat painful dent around the leg. A webbing strap would work much better. The clip that holds the gaiters to the shoe laces is too small for most laces and is very difficult to put on and take off. I will have to change the laces in my hiking shoes and I will attempt to replace the shock cord with webbing. I'm usually very happy with OR products, so this is rather disappointing.

I bought these to use over my trail runners and approach shoes. They are light, comfortable and keep things out of my shoes very nicely on trips where a full gaiter is too much. I didn't notice until a little further along and wasn't able to find it. This also pulled the elastic cording out of the stitching and the lace hook was gone. I was able to very easily re-route the elastic back in and stitch it. I reinforced the stitching on the other gaiter, assuming it would also tear out. I bought new foot straps, but unfortunately OR does *not* make the lace hook available for purchase or to mail out as a warranty item. That's frustrating, as I had to make my own lace loop out of some velcro. A less crafty person would just be out the gaiters at this point.

Was in the hunt for a pair of gaiters that were light and packable, and versatile enough to keep the snow out of my boots on early season hikes, and the rocks out on later summer ones. These fit the bill! I've had them out on two hikes so far, and am very pleased. They fit well over my hiking boots. I'm a size 7 (women's) and the medium gaiters were the right pairing. If I were wearing them with runners, I would need the small. The fabric - while light and somewhat flexible - seems to stand-up well to rocks and brush. I think the shorter height of these gaiters will be great once we hit the summer heat. Super pleased!

Great for wind!
3 December 2023

I've used these for covering the trail runners I use for walking/running the dog, and biking on cool days (-5C and windy) and I was impressed at how well they worked considering how thin the fabric is. Didn't feel the wind at all! I plan to wear them all winter, but I can't yet speak to how they hold up in proper winter weather (but I'm optimistic based on what I've seen). They're easy to put on, quick to take off, and simple to adjust. I'm really excited to not have salt stains all over my pants this winter lol

Lasted Two Whole Days!
9 August 2023

These may be a cute accessory for a shopping trip and a latte but they are clearly not up to actual hiking. The second day I had them on the elastic thread (yes - it is THREAD) holding the entire thing together broke. I would have repaired them but the hook for the shoelace was lost in the vegetation. They are now garbage - actually they were quite clearly garbage to begin with - unfortunately garbage that someone paid decent money for (was a gift) I strongly suggest OR test stuff like this before selling it for a purpose it is not at all suited for. You do know that trails are not sidewalks, right? I mean - there are sticks that get caught in things like ELASTIC THREAD and can break it.

Looking forward to Winter hiking!
7 November 2023

I bought these gaiters to keep the snow out of my boots, and to keep the mud off my pant cuffs - just need some snow to test them out! I bought a size L but after strapping them over my boots, I feel that the straps are stretched tight, maybe too tight, and would like to try the size XL for comparison. My boot size is mens 10W. To be fair, having the gaiter fit close to the boot without room for snow to ingress may be the fit I want. The pull cord around the calf does not need to be adjusted closed as it is a good fit already. I’m going to say that these are ‘true to size’ - your milage may vary.

Nice, light, functional
13 November 2023

Finally a pair of gaiters where you can take the strap off - there are little hooks that attach to your shoes. Keeps dirt mud sticks rocks whatever out of your trail runners. Light enough that you don't get sweaty ankles. I would switch to taller waterproof gaiters for snow, but for shoulder season hikes these work nicely.

Perfect for the Job

I purchased these gaiters to do two things while doing biological work in sagebrush country:1. Keep ticks out of my pants2. Keep cheatgrass out of my shoelacesI am glad to report that they have performed very well in regards to the list. I am worried that the dense sagebrush and fencing will eventually rip a hole into the material. However, it has a nice stretch that has resisted getting caught on any shrubs/barbed wire so far. The strap on the bottom is starting to wear a bit (~ 1 month of heavy use) and some stitching is getting pulled, but that's to be expected in rocky terrain. Overall I like these gaiters a lot. Terrific lightweight low rise gaiters
8 January 2024

These are perfect for trail running or walking to keep the gravel and other debris out of your shoes!! The OR Ferrosi model is super lightweight so won't take up space in your pack. The detailed description of the under foot strap, laces hook and cinch at the top are accurate. Both my husband and I are able to wear the size L - my shoes are Women's 10-11 and his are Men's 11.

great 3-season gaiter for light hikers/sneakers!
8 January 2024

I really like the fabric and versatility of this gaiter. however, the front hooking mechanism is plastic and quite small that it will not fit on the metal ring that comes on my hiking books especially for connecting to gaiters. the gaiter hook will certainly connect to the shoelace itself but would be more versatile if the hook was just a millimeter wider..
