Another redesign, another decrease in quality.
We started our son in these in 2019 when they had the Mickey design. They were awesome. Then the first Pooh redesign came and the quality went down but they still worked for the most part. Now with our 1 year old daughter there is another redesign and they are terrible. We’ve had 3 leaks in the past few days of starting them when we never had any before.I compared the new design to the Huggies Plus from Costco and they are essentially THE SAME. Don’t waste money on these. You’ll be spending A LOT more on laundry detergent with all of the leaks.... Show more

Awful
I bought these in size three for my 10 month old who is finally sleeping longer stretches. His Huggies Little Movers and Snug and Dry diapers were working fine on most nights but we’re VERY full when I changed him. I thought having these would give me extra comfort knowing he would be okay sleeping longer stretches. I used them for three nights and two of those night he woke up crying with his sleeper and wearable blanket saturated and the bed sheets wet through to the mattress pad. I am so disappointed. I ordered these special because my local store doesn’t carry them. What a waste. Im using them as regular day time diapers now and can’t wait until they are gone.... Show more

BEDWETTING CITY
Bought a package of the Huggies overnights because although my son is potty trained, we are still working on him learning to get up during the night to use the bathroom. I figured since these were for overnight these would be a safe bet to prevent any overnight leaks/accidents. We just bought this pack and have had two wet bed incidents in the span of 5 days!!!! These diapers leak so bad! We never had issues before with the regular version. DO NOT BUY unless you enjoy doing laundry at 3am. I still have a sleeve and a half of these left and am so frustrated!!!!... Show more

Best Option Available for us
I want to start this review by saying anyone that thinks any diaper is going to last 8hrs + has to high of expectations. Though occasionally depending on the child and intake but just because there called overnights it's not set it & forget it! Most regular diapers have some outrageous marketing things on packaging but you still need to have common sense. Though when our child was younger these did hold up longer than day diapers & maybe some need to compare day vs night, like if you change every 3-4hrs & these last over that it's a win, also no matter their age I wouldn't leave anyone in a diaper over 4-5hrs w/o checking. This being said we have a special needs child that we do use sz 7's & have used various brands for day time. But we have been using Huggies Overnight diapers the longest though we do add booster pads we still check on our child throughout the night or if one of us gets up early. Recently we tried Pampers Overnights though the were softer we couldn't get past the overwhelming baby powder scent they use on their diapers. Are only complaint is usually we can only find these in stock at Walmart in size 7 though we can order them from Sam's & other places which we do but in case of emergency it's nice to know where to get locally. Though our child can also fit in medical diapers but the ones insurance providers are no match to Huggies so we do pay out of pocket for these because they are still best option though there are few better but they are like $1+ per diaper vs HO @ $0.69.We highly recommend these diapers though do recommend common sense if your child is older or has fluids before bed you should still check on them and potentially use a booster pads if needed.... Beyond disappointed!
My baby is one those babies who likes his drinks! Besides a full bottle at bed he loves water, but our normal Huggies(we buy little movers) can’t keep up with how hydrated he is, so I went and purchased the overnight diapers because I am waking up 1-2 a night to change him or he leaks through, our first 2 nights with the overnight Huggies and he’s peed through! And not a little bit, these overnight diapers leak more than normal Huggies. I am on day 2 of waking and and having to wash my bedding because everything is soaked. He peed through his overnight diaper in a hour and 45 minutes, and that was in the middle of the night he was changed. Not only were these diapers pricey but they don’t work even close to as good as I would have thought for overnight diapers.... Show more

I tried to like them
I tried my hardest to like these diapers, because they are not cheap for starters; I was not about to throw a whole pack away just because of the absorbent issue. All I saw was “5 stars” - “Try these diapers!” And I’m a first time mom, I’m comparing Huggies, Honest, and Target overnight diapers. So I try Huggies overnight diapers (first). My son is 8 months and weighs 19lbs. Now I did read in the reviews that the diaper runs smaller and for the amount of money I was paying, I wasn’t taken that risk of having a small diaper. They were right. If you want these, go up a size. (I got size 4). Now! The diaper right out of the package feels like cardboard in the crotch area. I’m no expert in diapers and don’t claim to be, but all I kept saying to myself is, “why does this diaper feel like cardboard in the crotch area?” Even my son did not like the feeling of it against his skin. He kept pulling at it and trying to remove it. But! I spent money on it, so I said, “let’s push through.” Does not work. I don’t care what the reviews have to say, if you have a baby who pee’s a lot during the night, you need to change your babies diapers at least ONE time during the night. I tried the overnight claim and every single time I would wake up to find pee going all the way up his back and his sleep sack stained. His sleep schedule is: 8:30PM - 6:30AM. He wakes up around (the window of) 12AM - 2AM to be fed. When he wakes up at that time, I have to change his diaper because it’s already full. Beats the point of even having an overnight diaper at this point. Overview: not soft, cardboard feeling in the crotch (I’m guessing for absorbency), not truly an “overnight” diaper if I still have to change it during the night. I’m finally finished with the pack and will not be buying again. I just wish someone would have left a review like this, especially for a first time mom trying to navigate baby waters.... Show more

Leaks
Purchased these on the recommendation of like every "boy mom" I know. I tried his normal size diapers, a size up, folding the front in, triple checking the flaps around the legs and the velcro, last bottle earlier/less full, basically everything I could think of or was recommeneded to me and these leaked every other night, at minimum. Most days he would be wet from his nipples to his knees. I just figured this was a boy thing and I had to deal with it as I didn't have success with the Up & Up overnight diapers either. Was I ever wrong. Switched to Pampers overnights...NO LEAKS EVER! Noting - I'm a mom of b/g twins who are currently sleeping 12 hours overnight (he's the only one that leaks and we need 12 hour protection). These may work for you but if they don't, ... Pooh ver is ok, but why so ROUGH, and..
I've been buying Overnites for YEARS, and i've gone through many ups and downs with all of the "re-designs" over the years, and what completely baffles me is WHY is it that every time KC makes an "improvement" to this diaper they take one step forward, but then they completely ruin it by making a bunch of other unnecessary changes that set them 2 steps back!Case in point, the latest diaper has unmatched absorbency. Far better than any of the previous generations. But then for SOME strange reason they decided to ditch the silky-smooth outer cover for a much rougher, horribly cheap feeling material that is NOT nice to the touch! But then for SOME strange reason they decided to ditch the silky-smooth outer cover for a much rougher, horribly cheap feeling material that is NOT nice to the touch! It truly reminds me of how the old, economy generics used to feel. But even those brands figured out that Mom's and Dad's don't want their child's diapers to feel hard/stiff, thin, lumpy, and rough to the touch. The previous Mickey version was FAR softer and felt like pure silk compared to the newest diaper's outer covering material.Another serious gripe that I have about this diaper is WHY do they continue to make them narrower and narrower? It seems like every time they "improve" them, we get less and less diaper for our money. They'll claim that the newer versions are "more trim" and "cut to fit your baby's body better" or some other marketing mumbo jumbo, but the bottom line is they keep getting narrower and narrower in the center/crotch area, and ask ANY mother on here if they actually prefer this, and they'll tell you that they'd MUCH rather have their child's diaper actually COVER their LO's little cheeks, instead these slim cut diapers end up bunching up and leaving poor baby exposed, and it obviously affects how well it protects against leaks and wicking as well! When a diaper is so narrow in the crotch, it tends to wad up down the center, and this increases the chances of the leg cuffs getting turned either inwards, or outwards, exposing the diaper's padding to the elastic on their onesie and once that happens half the liquid inside of the diaper ends up wicking up the entire front/back of the onesie or PJ's!Speaking of the elastic leg gathers. That's another feature of the "new and improved" versions that seems to keep getting shorter, thinner, and less "sought" with each re-design.I have some of the OLD Winnie the Pooh Overnites, from 2017 or so, and when I open them up next to the previous Mickey design, and the current Pooh design, it's CLEAR to see that the leg elastics just keep getting shorter and shorter with each redesign, and that's another common-sense feature that ANY parent will gladly tell you that that's one feature they'd rather not compromise (for obvious reasons!) Yet here we are.. KC keeps making them shorter!Like, as if ANY parent ever used this diaper and told KC, "You know what? I just kinda wish that you'd make them a LOT less soft! And while you're at it.. why don't you shorten up the elastic leak guards too! It's not like we're trying to trap anything INSIDE the diaper or anything! Oh and also.. would you please stop making your diapers so wide and supple in the crotch area? It would be GREAT if you could cut them much more narrow in the center, so that me or my child is constantly picking the back of their diaper out of their butt, or tugging at the elastics in the back to get the back of the diaper to cover them up properly, that'd be GREAT! "My point is, no parent EVER wished for these things.. so WHY does KC introduce them into their diapers? My only assumption is COST. But I know one thing, I'm ALREADY paying more, so I can get a more premium diaper. If you keep taking away all of the things that made them better than all the cheaper diapers, then why wouldn't I just buy the cheap diapers in the first place?... Show more

Two VERY different versions of the "new" design!
I'm not sure if this goes for all sizes or what, but I recently figured out that Huggies has two VERY different versions of the "new" resigned style of Overnites! There is a variant of the new version that has the new look of the current design of the diaper and packaging, but it's got all of the features of the previous version! (See photos)Here are the differences I've found between the two variants:1. The cut:. The vairant diapers are straight cut, and the stand version of the new diapers have a contoured, hourglass shape when laid out open and pulled flat.2. The tabs: The variant of the new version have the older style tabs with the squared off corners, whereas the standard current version have the newer, rounded off tabs.3. The width: The padding of ... The width: The padding of the variant version are over an inch wider than the standard current version, which are narrower to accommodate the newer style contour cut.4. The elastic leg gathers: The variant version diapers have much taller sides to them. The material used in the leg gathers are wider, resulting in a leg gather that stands up much higher when the diaper is on your child's body.5. The performance characteristics: We tested several packs of each of the standard new version, and the variant new version diapers, and my practical-use experience has been that the insides/padding of the variant diaper absorbs a tiny bit slower than the standard version, but overall, it swells up more, and when it is heavily saturated, the diaper feels more squishy/mushy, whereas the standard new version felt much harder when swollen. The standard new version was less likely to release liquid when pressure was applied (it locked away moisture better) but it held LESS overall urine before leaking than the variant. My conclusion is that this odd variant of the newest design of Huggies Overnite diaper is MUCH better in my opinion, the wider padding and straight cut to the diaper along with the taller leg gathers resulting in a diaper that was definitely more "girthy" and baggy in the crotch area of my child, but that extra bagginess and wider padding definitely contributed to the diaper working MUCH better, with ZERO LEAKS (just like the old/previous generation of this diaper!) And the taller leg gathers are great, because it allows the diaper to tuck up into the crevasses of the child's legs. The taller elastics on the variant diaper encompass external parts on boys better, helping prevent leaks, and they wrap around the child's bum a lot better than the standard new version diaper, which is so narrow that it bunches together in the back leaving the sides of their little bums hanging out.. requiring us to constantly have to reach a finger into both sides to snag the elastic and tug it outward again (in both the front AND back), otherwise it would surely leak! After testing multiple packs side by side, these wider, straight-cut, square tabbed variant are hands-down, a much better diaper! They have all of the same great features that everyone missed about the old (previous) version, but with the improved performance they introduced with this latest version! It's almost like Huggies LISTENED to us, and merged the old and new diaper together, bringing back the features we all miss, and eliminating the flaws that they introduced with this latest design that a lot of us have been complaining about!I'd love to hear from KC what the official word is regarding two VERY different versions of this newest diaper that they're currently producing. In the meantime, I strongly urge you to pay attention to the details that I listed next time you open a pack of the new style of overnites, and compare the two diapers for yourself! (Remember, the easiest way to recognize which you have is by looking at the shape of the hook and loop tabs, if they have squared off corners, then you've got the variant version that has the features of the previous generation.. the one that I believe works better, and is what we want them to make! If it's got more rounded off corners and the tabs themselves are tapered so they're a bit narrower at the ends, then you have what I'm calling the "standard" new version, that has the contoured/hourglass shape to them, narrower padding, shallower leg gather/cuffs, and they're terrible because they LEAK!If this IS some sort of A/B testing that KC is doing.where they ship two very different variants of a product out to stores, then track which one gets more negative feedback.. then it's even MORE important for us to report that diapers particular LOT number back to KC along with what we think about it, and they'll be able to look up which version we're complaining about and hopefully kill-off that version and settle on the variant that works best! One final word.. both variants are currently available and can be purchased at the same store at the same time, as the different packs appear to be randomly distributed. The different variants won't be mixed up within a single pack, each pack will ONLY contain all of one variant, or all of the other.Unfortunately I haven't (yet) been able to figure out any unique identifiable marker on the packaging or in the lot number which would make it easy to identify WHICH of the two variants is contained within the particular pack I'm purchasing.. so it's random! But I CAN verify they're both available, and you could easily buy 2 identical packs at the same time, and end up getting one pack of each variant! But.. you could also very likely end up buying 5 of the same variant before finally getting one pack of the other variant.Pay close attention next time you open a pack, and you'll see for yourself!Love and Hugs my fellow Huggies Mama's and Daddies!and if you agree that the PA diaper is better, then LET THEM KNOW that you love them! Here are some photos proving that I'm not making this up!Cheers to all my fellow Huggies Mama's and Daddies!... Went from 5 stars to 2
Another item that made changes for the worst. I’ve been using these diapers for my 2 year old since she was 6M. They’ve always been perfect. The last pack I bought in December was great….Just bought a new box last week and the new ones are awful. They feel like paper and they have leaked every night. I had one more good diaper left and I can tell by the touch how much cheaper the new ones are. Super disappointed so I guess I’ll be searching for new overnight diapers. 2 stars only because they still have the purple pieces and let’s be honest those are life savers.... Show more
