The best guinea pig food on the market!Oxbow Garden Selects is hands-down the best small animal food you can buy in stores. It has a moderate calcium content (no Calcium Bicarbonate!), no extra sugar from molasses, and appropriate amounts of FORTIFIED vitamin C. All the ingredients are also non-GMO!Compare this with something like and you can see the difference. Oxbow's first 3 ingredients are Timothy Grass, Oat Grass and Orchard Grass. Kaytee's first 3 are Sun-Cured Alfalfa Hay, Ground Corn, and Dehulled Soybean Meal... umm yuck! Alfalfa's high calcium content may even cause stones as they get older. All three of my boys took to this food instantly. It also requires feeding a lot less (1/8 cup compared to 1/4 - 1/2 cup for other brands), so the price difference ...Ā MoreThe best guinea pig food on the market!Oxbow Garden Selects is hands-down the best small animal food you can buy in stores. My three adult males go through roughly 1 bag every month. I try to buy it on sale (usually ~$12), so it works out to $4/month for an individual pig. I'm sold!

I was previously feeding Oxbow Young Rabbit already, but when this popped up I decided to give it a try. The very first thing I noticed? It smells different than the regular pellets I was feeding. It smells GREEN. The previous pellets just kind of smelled like hay. These really kind of smell like a garden. I know this sounds really weird, but I swear they're greener and they smell like vegetables. My bun went for these immediately. I tried to switch her over gently by mixing the foods, but she went right for it. I don't know if she loves them, because honestly she eats everything pretty enthusiastically. We're having a little problem with weight. She's a little under where I would like her to be, but we're working on it. Too soon to tell if there are any changes in her fur. I should note, we're feeding the Young Rabbit pellets as she is under a year but there wasn't a separate listing for that. I definitely expect to continue with these into the adult version.

We use it as tricks or reward her (not as a entirely meal) and when she heards the bag goes crazy and eats them like a vacuum 🤭🤭. It's much better this kind of pellet because is made of entirely Timothy grass not seeds or dried fruts which are not good at all for bunnys.. As you can see how lazy she is after playing and jumping all day šŸ™„

I have tried several different rabbit foods which is very tedious because you have to slowly transition them into eating a different pellet. I simply wasn't happy with any of the other brands I bought on top of the fact that I have a picky eater on my hands. I immediately noticed a big difference in the color and freshness of the the #oxbow compared to competitors brands. I had both bags open next to each other because I would alternate handfuls to ensure even mixing of the old and new pellets in her dish and it was hard to ignore how the #oxbowgardenselect was a much higher quality rabbit šŸ‡ pellets. I had to show everyone in my home the difference. Then I noticed how much her droppings changed. They were bigger and much more healthy looking. She doesn't seem to have any issues with the taste either. Only thing I would like to see is more carriers of the larger sized bags. I bought this one from Amazon and they are already out of stock from the place I purchased this bag. Other sellers are outrageously priced. 4 pounds isn't a lot and you tend to end up rushing to get more at the last minute, and if you have to substitute with a different food your bunnies tummy will suffer for it. I did see 3 different options on chewy. 4 pounds, 8 pounds, and a 25 pound bag. I highly recommend trying this food for your bunny. Its the best I've found and I've tried between 8-10 different foods from Walmart, tractor supply, ace hardware, Amazon, and others.

Complete Nutrition for Rabbits
26 November 2022

When we first got our bunny I used to buy the young rabbit food but she has now graduated to the adult food. She loves the taste and I found Oxbow makes quality products. Her vet also recommends Oxbow products. It provides complete nutrition when combined with hay, fresh fruit and vegetables and occasional treats.

Delicious for my bunny
27 March 2020

Third time buying this product. It has a very fresh vegetable smell and my bunny loves it. It smells better than other pellets I tried to give him. The size of the pellets are not very big but not super thin either. He tends to like all kinds of pellets but this one seem more natural and it’s timonthy hay based. I never tried the organic garden select on my bunny but figured this is just as good. Apparently it comes in a large size (8pounds), but it is always not in stock. My bunny only gets 1/4 cup of this pellet a day now that he is a year old. The bags are designed to be re sealable. One bag will last him about three months and he weighs about four pounds.

Great Quality Food
14 August 2018

My bunnies ate the Oxbow Young Adult rabbit food. One of them had a calcium stone and the vet recommended I switch them over to Adult Rabbit Food a bit early (as it contains less calcium since it's made with Timothy Hay, not Alfalfa Hay). I went with the Garden Select formula and at first my bunnies wouldn't eat it because I think they were intimidated on the size of the pellets from the much smaller size they were eating previously. However, once they tried one pellet they realized how delicious it was and gobbled it up quickly. They used to nibble at their bunny food throughout the day. This food must be much tastier because it's gone in minutes and when I walk by the jump up begging for more. My bunnies will not eat this.
11 August 2020

I normally get my bunnies Oxbow Essentials Adult rabbit food. After reading the ingredients of their Garden Select Adult Rabbit food, I thought this is made of better products that are more natural like they would eat in nature. I mixed the 2 foods in a small batch so they could get use to it. It's been about a week and they still refuse to eat the Garden Select food. They leave the Garden Select (the pellets are just a little bigger). So I wasted $38 on this "more natural food". Now I have to go back and buy the Essentials Adult Rabbit food. Live and learn I guess.

The right food for the buns!

I have to admit, I was one of those people that bought the ā€œfunnestā€ looking food and filled up there bowls. After I got older and more experienced I researched more into rabbits. The ā€œfunā€ food is NOT good for bunnies and should only make up 20% of their diet. I bought this food in particular because a lot of people said it was great for picky eaters. With the ā€œfunā€ food a lot was wasted and it was mostly pellets. There are directions on the back of the bag on how much you should give your rabbit and directions on weaning them off of the old food onto this one. My rabbits were not having it at first but I kept diluting there old food every week just like the directions say and they fully transitioned to this food. This is by far the best guinea pig food there is. My piggies are in excellent health, partly due to using this pellet food. They also receive daily timothy hay and fresh veggies. Great price too!
