I was previously feeding Oxbow Young Rabbit already, but when this popped up I decided to give it a try. The very first thing I noticed? It smells different than the regular pellets I was feeding. It smells GREEN. The previous pellets just kind of smelled like hay. These really kind of smell like a garden. I know this sounds really weird, but I swear they're greener and they smell like vegetables. My bun went for these immediately. I tried to switch her over gently by mixing the foods, but she went right for it. I don't know if she loves them, because honestly she eats everything pretty enthusiastically. We're having a little problem with weight. She's a little under where I would like her to be, but we're working on it. I've noticed she has gained some weight since ... Too soon to tell if there are any changes in her fur. I should note, we're feeding the Young Rabbit pellets as she is under a year but there wasn't a separate listing for that. I definitely expect to continue with these into the adult version.

I have tried several different rabbit foods which is very tedious because you have to slowly transition them into eating a different pellet. I simply wasn't happy with any of the other brands I bought on top of the fact that I have a picky eater on my hands. I immediately noticed a big difference in the color and freshness of the the #oxbow compared to competitors brands. I had both bags open next to each other because I would alternate handfuls to ensure even mixing of the old and new pellets in her dish and it was hard to ignore how the #oxbowgardenselect was a much higher quality rabbit 🐇 pellets. I had to show everyone in my home the difference. Then I noticed how much her droppings changed. They were bigger and much more healthy looking. She doesn't seem to ... She doesn't seem to have any issues with the taste either. Only thing I would like to see is more carriers of the larger sized bags. I bought this one from Amazon and they are already out of stock from the place I purchased this bag. Other sellers are outrageously priced. 4 pounds isn't a lot and you tend to end up rushing to get more at the last minute, and if you have to substitute with a different food your bunnies tummy will suffer for it. I did see 3 different options on chewy. 4 pounds, 8 pounds, and a 25 pound bag. I highly recommend trying this food for your bunny. Its the best I've found and I've tried between 8-10 different foods from Walmart, tractor supply, ace hardware, Amazon, and others.

I have had 3 rabbits now and fostered another one and I refuse to give my buns any pellets that aren't Oxbow. This is the kind they prefer the most. Oxbow is a trustworthy brand for rabbits. Rabbits have sensitive digestive tracks and I learned from experience that the smallest change in their diets can lead to GI Stasis or a blockage. They deserve the best because they are the best. They are digging for pellets in the basket in this video!

This particular bunny for has no soy filler and no molasses. It's a perfect pellet. Rabbits don't need to be eating soy, and Molasses! Rabbits shouldn't have sugar. If you want your bun to reach 10 years old, feed them 80% hay 15%fresh leafy greens and veggies, and 5%pellets. And don't cage/hutch your rabbit that shortens their life too. Always spay and neuter.
I recently changed Bunny Foo Foo's food from that which has pieces of fruit and other things to one that doesn't. My vet said all the "extra" stuff has lots of sugar, which caused a weight gain. I wasn't sure that BFF would be happy with the plain stuff. The first dish she nibbled as she kept looking around for the sugar. The second dish was gone in a flash. From then on it was down the hatch. I like the smell of the food, too. Smells green.
Although the kind Chewy representative in FL ~ definitely ordered per our request ~ the beloved Oxbow Garden Select Adult Guinea Pig food & our confirmation stated this! Not once ~ but TWICE! We have been sent Oxbow Rabbit food! Chewy is wonderful ~ but this is simply horrendously terrible service! Especially when we sooo count on receiving the food for our precious lil guinea pig! So we can not review the rabbit food as we have a guinea pig! But the Oxbow adult guinea pig food is a treasure! Maybe next time we'll surely receive what we ordered for the correct little animal!
My rabbit has been eating this food but it has been difficult to find it in bags larger than 4lbs which wouldn’t last me more than a a week. I purchased the 25 lb bag and expect it to last at least several months. The bag comes with a ziplock closure so no need to worry about it going bad or getting bugs inside. And they delivered very quickly right to my door!
It looks like Oxbow is discontinuing Garden Select to introduce a new line, “Forage Wise”. I like Garden Select for the inclusion of a variety of grasses. If discontinued, I won’t be buying oxbow anymore. The new product is already being sold at my local pet store. They added soy and increased the amount of canola meal.
After buying a smaller bag, it seemed like my rabbits liked it andwould be eating it. I ordered a big bag and they don't seem to like it as much. I'm wondering if they are made and packaged at two different plants. They are not eating as quickly and leaving some in their dish. Same as the 1st bag, they only get one handful each.
Being Maizie's second owner, I immediately did some bunny research and discovered that she was not on a good diet. As her pellets were mixed with grains and treats it wasn't easy convincing her to try something new but Oxbow saved the day. With a little coaxing and just being plain "sneaky" she finally decided the new pellets were actually pretty good. Four + year later I have a happy and healthy bunny! Thanks Oxbow!
