Bonnie’s surprise gift!
12 November 2021Teddy

After remodeling our kitchen designer Bonnie stop over with a few finishing touches and saw me in action using my Oxo chopper. She was so impressed with the flexibility and accuracy of chopping as I was finely chopping onions and cilantro for my real famous guacamole. Bonnie was taken-aback on how easy it was to rinse and clean she just needed one before the holidays. Two weeks later she stopped by with our new throw pillows and I gifted her a new chopper of her own!!! She was delighted and so grateful for her very own chopper. She text me and said how easy it was to use and thanked me again! Love my chopper!!

I often wish it had more capacity because you must chop on small increments or it jams. That said, I wouldn’t be without it. Use it all the time. The base part is basically useless. I just chop directly on the cutting board. In fact I tossed the base bottom. Too much trouble getting it on or off without making a mess. Totally unnecessary. It’s well worth buying. Would replace in a heartbeat if I needed.

Disappoined - Not even worth one star

You can not use it without the cup as stated in the description. The lip for the "blade holder" won't allow it. This is not very easy to assemble or disassemble. I had to practice a few times. Needed my sister to help me read the instructions and do. Once I got that down I was excited to use only to have the blades get stuck at every "chop". The packaging was not one you could save when opening as you had to cut it out of the plastic wrap.. can I return this loser of a gadget?

Disappointing for OXO
2 September 2020

Had to replace my old Pampered Chef chopper and found the OXO Good Grips Chopper. I have at least 10 OXO kitchen products in my home and typically love all of them... EXCEPT this chopper! Sorry, but despite my careful heeding the warnings of the sharp blades, I cut myself twice trying to get the blade assembly out to clean. Last cut was deep and painful! I found it cumbersome to manage to get the chopper to work on a separate cutting board surface instead of in the cup, and once I did, I was not satisfied with the results. The fresh pistachios I was aiming to chop kept sticking to the blades of the chopper, and so were not getting cut! I ended up chopping with a knife for better control of the consistency. Don't buy without a dishwasher
12 January 2023

This is a great tool and very useful for chopping foods, HOWEVER it is physically impossible to hand-wash! All the parts are dishwasher-safe, but if you don't have a dishwasher you are out of luck. Food particles get lodged deep between the blades, and you cut up your hands trying to scrub it out, and it still isn't clean. I'm keeping it and saving it for when I get my own dishwasher. So besides that, if you do have a dishwasher I highly recommend. It's very easy to use. If you have a kid this can be a good safe way to get them involved in meal prep and add more vegetables.

I love Oxo but not this item.
5 May 2018

I have been a proponent of Oxo products over the years. I think they come up with some quality/innovative products, unfortunately this is not one of them.I bought one a couple of years ago. I don't use it daily but use it often enough. After reading previous reviews, I didn't experience problems that other people had like food sticking between the blades or the scraper falling off. The one thing I can say about it is that you do have to exert a lot of force to chop it. My main problem though is a quality issue. After using it for close to a year, all of a sudden one day the plunger popped off the unit. I tried putting it back on but the piece broke. It is held in place by 4 pressure tabs and one had snapped off.So I called Oxo, got a very nice service rep and ... MoreI have been a proponent of Oxo products over the years. She said no but since it broke she would send me out as a courtesy a brand new one. I thanked her and got my new one within a week. Unfortunately the same thing has happened to the new one I got. I think this breaks because since the spring is hard it takes a lot of force to chop the vegetables.I will not invest in another one of these. Sorry Oxo.

Impossible to Cut Peppers, I Do Not Recommend This Chopper
7 November 2021

The design of this chopper looked really cool. I was very excited to see it in the new OXO product line because we eat garden salads every evening with dinner and I thought this would be an excellent gadget to chop new things into our salads for a change rather than having to hand dice everything with a sharp knife. My one an only experience with this chopper was attempting to chop up a fresh organic red pepper. So the pepper would fit into this chopper I cut the pepper in four parts. I inserted the first quarter section and the chopper obliterated into pulpy mush. The blades were not sharp enough to cut through the skin of the pepper. I ended up having to throw away the mashed quarter section and I finished cubing the rest of the pepper with my usual sharp kitchen ... MoreThe design of this chopper looked really cool. This gadget should be renamed the pulverizer rather than a chopper. Buyer beware.

Not really faster than chopping by hand
25 February 2023

This was sadly a waste of money. I use lots of veggies but always hate chopping them, so I had been coveting this little gizmo for a while. Finally bought it and….I’m super disappointed :( You still have to cut the stuff up to fit in the little container, so like a pepper or an onion you’re already halfway done before it will even fit in the container. And then if it’s a semi-soft item like a pepper, it just smushes it around and makes a juicy mess. It worked best for chopping up baby carrots bc they were already small and are very hard. So, I guess if you chop baby carrots all the time, maybe it’s worth it? Two stars bc it was easy to disassemble and put in the dishwasher.

I can easily and quickly chop nuts with a French knife andf cutting board, but I'm always afraid that the knife will slip and I'll so I purchased this OXO chopper for safety. What a waste of money! First of all, the instructions are so tiny that I needed a magnifying glass to read them. Also, the chopper did a very poor job of chopping. The knob kept sticking and I would have to pull the black knob into the up position just like the instructions indicated. What a pain. When the nuts were finally chopped, the pieces were not even close to being uniform. More than half of them were pulverized. I wasn't able to properly clean the chopper. I removed the stripper and locked the black knob in the down position, but then Step 4 of the cleaning disassembly instructions ... MoreI can easily and quickly chop nuts with a French knife andf cutting board, but I'm always afraid that the knife will slip and I'll so I purchased this OXO chopper for safety. I removed the stripper and locked the black knob in the down position, but then Step 4 of the cleaning disassembly instructions tells the user to hold the chopper body in one hand while carefully turning the BLADE counterclockwise with the other hand. This is not an easy task considering that the blade is sharp. I was not able to remove the blade cartridge. Using a knife and cutting board to chop nuts is much safer, much faster, and the pieces are uniform.. I'm typically happy with OXO products, but this chopper is a dud.
