OXO Good Grips - Complete Grate Slice Set

Decided to buy at a four and one set easy meal prep by OXO Such an easy, easy tool to have and use in the kitchen great for vegetables, cheese, and Julianne, course, slicer, or medium grater. Love how easily it fits all together for storage , It’s definitely a big help in the kitchen to have this tool .

Super happy with this grater/slicer. I find it easier on my hands/wrists than vertical "box" style graters, its convenient how the lid becomes a container for the food to be grated into, and how it all packs up nicely into a container itself for storage so I always know where the pieces are that I'm looking for.

Great Tool for Those Who Avoid Kitchen Gadgets!

I am not a kitchen gadget collector simply because of space constraints and not liking clutter, but I am so glad I found this item. This tool is amazing for fast food prep, compact and self-contained, safe and easy to use, and has proven itself a hard worker in my tiny kitchen. It shreds and slices cheese and veggies beautifully! It is also a breeze to clean up, which is huge for me. The only things that are mildly annoying are that the measurements marked on the sides of the container are coming off after a week of use and that sometimes the slicing plate slips from its holder if not held correctly. Overall, these are minor issues and I still highly recommend this tool!

Great for what it is.

I needed this for potato slices. It worked great. Since then, I have sliced carrots and grated Parmesan cheese. If you are looking for a fancy mandolin, this isn't it. But if you are in need of the occasional even slice or julienne, or something that will help capture large or small gratings, then I recommend this product. It comes with a finger protector, so you will not slice off the tips of your fingers. This is not for the professional chef. It is handy, though, and I had nothing like it in my armature kitchen that would do the job. It was totally worth the price.

Not as Pictured but similar

I previously owned the identical grater as shown. However, I received I similar, horrible version of this from OXO. My previous item broke, so I wanted to replace it with this identical grater, as shown in picture. I received, what I assume is a horrible, updated version. The item in the picture works amazingly. The item I received is similar by the same brand and not functional. The plastic is more flimsy and makes it more way more difficult to grate up. It’s a huge fail. The grate pieces slide all the way back and forth and don’t snap into place like the pictured item. Then, when I slightly push down cheese to grate, the clear plastic cups container is flimsy and bends open shoving the grater inside. It’s a hassle to hold it just right to grate. Not designed well for grating.

The main reason I bought this was to protect my fingers when grating so that I can get every bit of food grated. Sadly, I had to return this because the food holder which protects your fingers is poorly designed. The sharp pointed grips on the underside, used to hold cheese in place while grating, tears through the top of the cheese rather than hold it securely in place. It does grate cheese but leaves a considerable amount of cheese jammed into the food holder along with cheese that cannot be grated. Also, this grater takes more work to clean than the metal four-sided standing grater that I have been using. For these reasons I cannot recommend it.

Product not what is pictured

I would give this grater 5 stars if it was the one pictured. The one pictured is the old model, what was shipped to me is the new model. It works fine, it is self contained so that is lovely, the storage container lid is the receptacle for whatever you are grating. I liked the angled container, I will not like this new one as well. I purchased from this site because I expected to get the older model.

So easy and great storage!

This was a gift I bought myself, splurging a little for a grater- but it is worth it! I love the ease of storage, and that the blades are tucked inside for safety. The hand guard works very well. I love it for prepping salads, stir fry, and grating cheese. The shredded vegetables fall into the top that doubles as a container. I saw the same product at a large department store, and they priced this product almost twice as much as I paid for it at Crate and Barrell. Love this product, it’s worth e splurge!

Thinking of "Rachael Ray" on TV !

I just got this in the last few days - I used it to slice up onions for "French Onion Soup" for the Crockpot. It was able to do half of a Large onion in 1 min. and the next half after that & got BOTH of the 2 Large onions done and into the Butter 1st and into the Crockpot and cooking in less than 6 min. Excellent easy to use sips over the container and slices quickly ! Nice No Mess anywhere on the countertop and easily cleans in the top rack of the dishwasher after OR in your sink.

There isnt any choice of thickness, but it was perfect for my purposes. After using, I easily cleaned it in the dishwasher. I did not have any problems with the plate slipping. It snapped into place easily, prior to use. I hope, when the time comes, that I can remember that I have other plates that may become useful.
