OXO Good Grips - Precision Batter Dispenser

Works great to drop muffin or cupcake batter into my tins. Also very easy to clean and making clean up time even easier and less time. Bought a cheaper one that only lasted one day before handle broke off of main gate. This one has held up perfect over several busy days of using.

Awesome!

This thing is awesome!! Fitting four cups of batter seems like the perfect amount so far. I made a full batch of pancakes, about 16 1/4 cup size, and all of the batter fit in the dispenser no problem. This makes things SO much easier and less messy for dispensing. I’m excited to make cupcakes with this and not get the batter all over the place. Clean up was pretty easy. I initially let hot water soak in it as some of the batter had hardened on. I had a lot of water spots so I put it in the dishwasher. I’ll have to remember to put this on its side next time as it completely fill out with water even though I had taken off the part that closes the rubber.

Love the concept. Normally love OXO. Amazing for upright waffle maker. Handle cracked off of one after a couple of months. Bought another. Same thing happened. Cannot recommend. :(

Doesn't work for thick batter

I wanted to love this product, but it has some design flaws. I used this product to make waffles and pancakes, and both recipes had thick batters. The silicone valve doesn't open up enough to allow thick batter to flow through. If you squeeze the handle too hard the shut off mechanism pops apart. It is easy to get back together, but not when it's full off batter. I liked that it was dishwasher safe, and that the silicone valve detached for cleaning. I also liked that the lid doubled as a drip tray. It is lightweight and comfortable to use.

Garbage. Don't buy this.

I bought this item in the store without readling any reviews on it because I have so many OXO products that I have been completely satisfied with. Not so with this item. I put the batter in it and it leaked all over the kitchen. I tried to push the rubber stopper closed and it would not seal. I carefully closed turned it upside down and it leaked from the top. What a mess. I wish I would have thought to take a picture of the mess I had in my kitchen. Into the garbage it went. Save your money and your sanity and don't purchase this dispenser.

It works?

The lid serves as a plate when dispensing…yes it drips.When it is full it dispenses well. Once 1/2 empty it dispenses s l o w l y. Good luck getting the last of it before the pan burns.If grip strength is fair, it would be a nice adaptive tool for someone with mobility issues. It would also be good for someone learning.Must be cleaned immediately.

Nifty Little Gadget

The OXO Good Grips Precision Batter Dispenser is pretty awesome. We tried it out by making pancakes! Very easy to use and clean. So easy my kids (8,7,5,4) were even able to operate it to make their own pancake! They were so pumped! The reservoir held almost our whole bowl of batter. I like that it’s slanted inside to get all of the batter out and it did pretty much that! The handle is comfortable and easy to operate, even for little hands! My only issue was my 7 year old was a little too excited and squeezed the handle too hard and the mechanism that keeps the batter from leaking out popped off. It was easy to pop back in, but not so easy when the dispenser is full of batter! I was also surprised by how very little mess was made. Smaller than expected

A lot smaller than I expected. It's a decent batter dispenser as long as the batter is very runny. Thick batter (e.g. for hotcakes) won't work because the opening for the batter to come out is very small. If you're making something like crepes, this would work well. Not so great for heavier types of batter.

Versatile and mess free baking

I was in two minds whether to buy the Oxo Good Grips Precision Batter Dispenser. I ammed and arrrred for quite some time. My last attempt at making madeleines was a disaster (as other attempts were). I went ahead and ordered it. Yesterday's attempt using the batter dispenser was great. No mess and perfectly sized biscuits. Very happy - will get alot of use for this - especially with my waffles.

Works Well for Me

I have used this 3 times now, twice for chocolate cupcakes and once for gluten free pancakes. It worked well all 3 times. The pancake batter was pretty thick but it did flow fine, although slowly. The cupcake batter flowed more quickly. I like that I don’t make a mess of the pan or the counter when dispensing batter. I do put it on the lid or a plate between batches to catch any drips and I haven’t had more than a few drops of batter on the plate. I can see that if your batter is very thick or has a lot of big lumps it wouldn’t work well but it’s fine for what I use it for.
