I often make gazpacho soup in the summer and sometimes chili in the winter. I make each in quantities which require me to store the leftovers. Traditionally, I kept the leftovers in tall Bell-style jars. This made it difficult to scoop out leftover servings with a ladle due to the relatively narrow size of the jar opening. These sealable bowls solved this.

It's big enough for a good "hungry-man" sized soup or stew and locks tight as anything else in OXO's rectangular Good Grips model line. Basically perfection -- 99% anyway; I do wish it was a bit more like a bowl with a "portruding lip" for sipping out of!

Oxo has outstanding customer service. They replaced my second OXO measuring cup due to use with abrasive liquid. My first latest for 12 years with daily use. Lightweight and well balanced this cup’s overall weight and measuring (visible from inside) make it my daily go to for water and any cooking liquids .

Perfect sturdy glass set. We only use glass in our home as we try to avoid plastic for health and environmental reasons. The seal is excellent and although they are plastic the lids are easy to clean and don’t stain! Nice and thick glass! Best I’ve bought so far.
I’m very pleased with the oxo company. I asked for replacement lids for my set that was missing two lids. They set me two full replacement pieces with lids. Which I’m grateful for, but I still have two bottom containers without lids. I guess I could recycle them . Very happy with their response.
I replaced a deep glass tub with this 7 cup bowl. It's easier to use chopsticks for grains & noodles. It's great for soups, large,with enough depth to keep from spilling. I also will use for shaved ice desserts. I like having the option of a lid to place over food to retain heat, or even just for ease in carrying.the Lid can be really useful placed over bowl, without engaging the smart seal tabs. I purchased a 7 cup round bowl months ago, so I am delighted to snag several more bowls during the current excellent sale.
I ordered three of these storage containers. Two out of three are defective and the lids simply pop off. They do not latch at all. I should note that I did order a larger storage container of this type, in a rectangle shape, and do not have issues with that one. These are really great containers - if they work, that is. Two stars because of poor quality control.
This is just what I needed to store a batch of soup in the fridge.The lids seem sturdier than other brands, and my experience with Oxo quality is good , but I hope Oxo will consider offering replacement lids for this line of glass storage containers. That would definitely make them the top choice.
These will be useful for freezing and thawing, but not for my intention as a soup container for both storage and microwave reheating. The lid is not happy in the microwave at all and I did not see this in small writing on the label until after purchase. The damaged small container was quickly replaced at no charge.
Bought this to experiment with microwaving egg scrambles in the morning. I don't like using plastic stuff in the microwave, especially in day-to-day usage. Trying to come up with glass, all-in- one "vessel" breakfast without the frying pan. Keep some diced peppers, tomatoes, onions, ham, shredded cheese, etc., on hand, and it's easy to throw them and a couple of scrambled raw eggs into this bowl. You can do them all together at once, or do the diced stuff first for thirty seconds, then add the eggs. Experiment with the total time (not long), salt & pepper to taste, make some toast, and you'll be rewarded with a tasty, quick, easy to heat, serve, eat and clean-up breakfast. It works great.
