OXO Steel Y Peeler

Somehow I tend to be tough on vegetable peelers... or they tend to be tough on me. Yet a peeler is a necessary kitchen staple, a lot safer than using a paring knife, given my modicum of coordination.This OXO peeler hints at being the exception to my previous peeler woes. No wimpy plastic construction here. Super solid grip. Sturdy metal blade mounting. Cleans easily. And seems to peel smoothly in fine even strips without removing more than just peel. Lumpy bumpy sweet potatoes proved slightly challenging but a huge plus is the wide, sturdy metal end that carves out potato-eyes especially well

This peeler is easy and comfortable to hold, important as I have arthritis in my handsIt removes peel easily and accurately, would recommend it without hesitation to anyone having difficulties peeling their vegetables.Will buying a couple more for people I know in a similar situation to myself

This is unlike other peelers in that it requires no pressure to use. Just draw it gently over the surface of whatever you're peeling. It is amazingly sharp, and if you use it like other peelers by applying a little pressure you risk a cut thumb or finger.. Just run it over the top of the potato or apple or whatever and it is really good.
