OXO Y Peeler Good Grips

Up to now, I had preferred peeling fruit with my curvedblade paring knife rather than my OXO swivel peeler. Then I saw a Ypeeler used online in a howto video and ordered this one in a twopack. I tested it on peeling a kiwi fruit and promptly decided it was an essential tool. Dont know why it took me so long to find it Like all OXO tools, it is comfortable to hold, and also very sharp. When not in use, the blade is protected with a snapon plastic shield, which should help keep it sharp and my fingers safe. Now Im actually looking forward to peeling the kiwi in the morning it removes just the skin and leaves the delicious flesh for the breakfast bowl. The second Ypeeler is now part of my travel toolkit that just grew from four to five musthave tools.

Comfortable grip, ergonomically designed, extremely fast and easy to use. Even handles thick skinned fruit and veg with ease. If youve never used a Yshaped peeler before, get one, theyre a huge time saver theres a reason why professional chefs refer to them as speed peelers.Also, in response to other reviewers. It goes without saying that cutting utensils are sharp and care with their use is required. Im not sure its necessary for people to point this out by showing pictures of cut fingers. Knives are sharp, ovens get hot, fire can burn, probably dont put metal in microwaves, butter knives in the toaster, or boil an empty kettle... welcome to the world of not dying in the kitchen.

After using cheap peelers for the longest time, I decided to pop into Target to get a peeler. I'm so glad I did. This made peeling potatoes so easy and fast. I had my potatoes peeled in record time. It felt great in my small hands and was easy to grip. I highly recommend it

Could not peel without it

A fabulous bit of kitchen kit. Peels everything like a dream, does not slip and catch fingers or thumbs like some makes do.This is the second Oxo good grips peeler I have purchased and I also purchased one for my Daughter who loves it.I have some arthritis in my hands and peeling with a knife is difficult and painful but good grips does the jobs perfectly and painlessly. Nothing not to like.

Elegant peeler why settle for less

Elegant peeler at a good price. Needed a new one bc our cheap one brokeBeen using it for 3 weeks and cannot believe we didn't get this sooner. Nice handle that is comfortable to grip. Effortless peeling

Good grip, good peeler

Peelers can be hit or miss. I've bought a number over the years that aren't even as good as the old blunt one I'm trying to replace, then one or two that work brilliantly and we keep for years. This one is looking like being one of the latter. Super sharp and easy to use.

Household essential for the kitchen

Had to buy another one because our first one was stolen by a relative. Clearly this proves we can't live without it.Does the job, safely and is dishwasher safe.We are used to this model for its precise size and shape.Will probably buy a spare on our next visit.

Multitasker that really delivers

Super sharp and very sturdy. Peeled 12 apples for apple pie like a breeze! Carefully peeled the zest off a lemon for a cocktail. They Y shape really does make a huge difference when you can see exactly what you're doing, and the control is MUCH better compared to the old school peelers we grew up with.

Excellent peeler. Feels substantial to hold and sharp enough to do a good job. Prefer this type to ceramic which stain easily and blunt over time. Not especially cheap for what it is but I'm confident it is sturdy enough to last.

Repeat purchase

This is the third OXO YPeeler I've owned. The first one disappeared during a Thanksgiving family celebration (hmmm...) Its replacement is now showing some wear (after many years of perfect service). #3 is taking it's place. This peeler is great. Good heft and very sharp blade.
