Setting up the mixer from the box was easy enoughI purchased the mixer for doing small jobs in the gardenRetaining wall, letterbox and a bit of concretingWhen setting up just lift up the mixer by placing onto some bricks or blocks so you can tip into a wheelbarrowFor $299, yes it’s not the best, but it’s easier than mixing in a wheelbarrowI would recommend to others

Faulty manufacture - going back.

Bought mine yesterday (25/05/2023). Takes about 40 minutes to assemble. Mine is faulty and going back today (not fit for purpose). Fault is extreme noise for about 1/3 of each rotation. I have greased the gears to reduce friction, but no improvement. Ring gear on outside of drum (crown wheel) is not level on the drum. With each rotation, it appears that the teeth on the motor (pinion) are bottoming out and forcing the motor driven gear off centre. This creates unbearable noise - hands over ears. 2/3 of rotation, the noise is fine. I think it will destroy the bearing in the motor before long. Drum seal also leaks.

Good but could be improved.

Does the job and the price is good. The tipping wheel needs to be larger. The single leg should be more rigid – needs crossbars in the channel, the leg has little torque strength.Grease the drive ring as it makes enough noise t wake the dead.

Good mixer BUT...
23 March 2022

This is a great cement mixer for the price. Easy to assemble, although the mixing blades are a bit goofy. Generous bowl capacity and the 550 watt motor seems to handle a full load without much trouble.BUT...be aware that the bowl height is char too low. It is impossible to pour mix into a standard wheelbarrow. We used blocks to raise the mixer 200mm in order to pour into a standard plastic wheelbarrow.Every other aspect of this mixer is good.

Good unit - no problems
28 October 2022

Solid unit, gave it some greece and put about 60 bags through it in an hour laying a 2mx2m slab with no problems. Only advice is make sure you test the angel of the barrel with your mix, I needed mine more upright than the manual suggested which was simple to try and fixCould use some more hight so make sure you put it up high on some bricks if you plan to drop into a wheel barrow.I put mine on the corner of my pour and dropped the load down and spread from there.

I should have known better
10 November 2022

I said to myself "don't buy ozito, you will regret it" but I saw the price and read the reviews and said to myself "but it's so cheap"... so I bought it.... put it together, turned it on and it sounded like an old commodore with the muffler ripped ff... so loud. I said a few expletives, took it back got a refund and told myself how stupid I was. Do yourself a favour, spend a bit more money

It works for me, with one minor gripe.
6 April 2023

It works very well with the only criticism being that it doesn't fit a concrete style wheelbarrow under it when tipping out.It has enough power and in typical noisy concrete mixer style, and it mixes well.It could do with a basic user manual - for instance with an item of "Put the water in first or the mix will stick to the bottom". LOL I wonder how I found that out ?Otherwise, this is a well designed and effective concrete mixer if you put it together properly (read the instructions).

Perfect for me

I have long, narrow areas that we are doing several projects with my newest favourite product - cement! Custom pathways European style, rendering the house (inside and out), and fishpond. I needed a lightweight machine that could be shifted about easily, didnt cost too much (although once my concrete faze is over i will sell it anyway). This machine is small enough to get close to the source so i dont need to lug a wheelbarrow around (no room for one anyways), and it is low enough to the ground (like its owner!) to put a 20L bucket on a block to pour into it without splashing everywhere. I did read in other peoples reviews that wheelbarrows don’t fit under it so you need to raise the height on bessars etc - personally, I’m glad it is low because i can pour the ... MoreI have long, narrow areas that we are doing several projects with my newest favourite product - cement! Anyways - super happy with the ozito. It’s unreal for small jobs and saving me from my former method of hand mixing in the bucket which was exhausting! Hope that info is helpful to someone

Each time i turned it on i said some profanity and said to mysepf you should have spent more, and then some more profanity, and this went on repeat each time.the on button was clicked during the 17mixes of mortar. The turning wheel sucks, comes with small metal plate to go under spring, that pops out and makes it not the most stable mechanism. The height. Which l new buying height was issue, stacked two solid surface pallets, still not enough clearance.. By the end of it it was easier to mix and dump on the floor.. I did over 1.5m2 square of sand and 17 bags of concrete. Mortar came out great but for the sake of 300 more i would buy something elseIts also quite noisey but who cares really. This is the ozito product you dont want to buy, yes its cheap but with ... MoreEach time i turned it on i said some profanity and said to mysepf you should have spent more, and then some more profanity, and this went on repeat each time.the on button was clicked during the 17mixes of mortar. The turning wheel sucks, comes with small metal plate to go under spring, that pops out and makes it not the most stable mechanism. The height. This product deserves no starsAssembled easy enough from a flat packBought the unit and had read reviews so went in with eyes open with respect to height and placing on steps as the unit is not tall enough to deposit into a wheelbarrow!I placed the unit on Besser Blocks.Did a mix with 2 bags - and with the small load of 2 bags - the unit is not stable and shook around with very loud noise from cogged wheel that drove the drum. The drum locking mechanism - to place at angle to mix - is not fit for purpose and with weight of cement inside the drum it kept jumping out which made the drum revert back to horizontal. On the 4th or 5th time doing this it moved so much that it swung back violently and then fell off the steps onto the floor.I did 3 mixes in mixer of ... MoreThis product deserves no starsAssembled easy enough from a flat packBought the unit and had read reviews so went in with eyes open with respect to height and placing on steps as the unit is not tall enough to deposit into a wheelbarrow!I placed the unit on Besser Blocks.Did a mix with 2 bags - and with the small load of 2 bags - the unit is not stable and shook around with very loud noise from cogged wheel that drove the drum. The drum locking mechanism - to place at angle to mix - is not fit for purpose and with weight of cement inside the drum it kept jumping out which made the drum revert back to horizontal. On the 4th or 5th time doing this it moved so much that it swung back violently and then fell off the steps onto the floor.I did 3 mixes in mixer of 2 bagsI had 30 bags to mix nd I gave uo and mixed with side through a wheelbarrow insteadCredit to Bunnings with respect to my complaintsThey refunded my money - no questions asked.Makes you wonder how many other issues with this product they have had?!!!!Do yourself a favour. - don't buy this product and spend a little more before wasting as much time and effort as I did
