The ‘V’ shaped groove on the base plate allows you to easily create chamfers on workpieces, while the rebate guide attachment allows you to make precise rebate cuts in your projects. Use the parallel guide to make straight guided cuts along surfaces. The safety lock-off button prevents accidental starts for a safer experience, whilst the automatic base park shoe protects your workpieces from damage when you set down the tool.

This was one of those things where I needed it for one job - so I went with the ozito. I needed to plane down a door. Couldn’t even finish the job because I couldn’t work out how to get the door off it’s hinges. Oops. But the planer worked fine. Assembly was a bit annoying. Next time I can get instore I’ll need to have a look at what it looks like set up in shop.So - 5 stars with the strong emphasis that this is “considering what it cost”. I’m not any sort of expert on planers to comment beyond that.

I could not make this planer work. It just wouldn't plane into the surface of the timber. At best, if I approached the edge of the timber at an angle, it would cut into the timber for about 5cm before riding on top of the timber. I swapped it for a Makita which worked much better (it it actually planned). In this case I found the Ozito saving was not worth it.

All seems to work fine only used it twice but I’m defiantly gonna need some practice with it. I’ve gouged out some timber which obviously cannot be undone but I’ve fixed with sanding.
My 1983 B&D plane gave up after 37 years halfway through current project! Got this Ozito and very happy. Its dial up depth setting is great, gives a nice finish and guides and rebate attachments come standard. Ozito make good stuff, I have a few of their products.
Good for quick jobs but not trade quality.Blade wear was faster than expected. Job proceeded on trimming down an old door by 2mm. Set blade at 0.5mm, it barely skimmed the surface. Set at 1.0 finally cutting. Motion was a nice pace without working the mc too hard. After 2 passes, you can feel the blade wearing. I used the Guide plate to offset blade wear, to get the best use. Also, beware cautious as the Guide plate will scuff the painted vertical surface ( I didnt but use masking tape to protect)Finally after about 8 passes, job was done but with significant blade wear. Took out about 2.5-3mm material. Blade dial depth was inaccurate about 50% less than actual cut depth. This also a good thing not to over-plane.Point to note. Door is an old 50+yrs with about ... Door is an old 50+yrs with about 1mm of paint to remove before hitting wood. Perhaps a combination of old hardened paint & old wood did make this mc worked harder.Possibly need better quality blades/ tungsten carbide to overcome this situation.
Plane does a great job, But blades were not set up correctly, Al ittle adjustment, and good to go
These things are a piece of rubbish very poor quality blades that do not last very long and are difficult to change they are just a waste of good money.
Covid has thrown hurdles at everyone, bunnings have made lockdown simple. Order online drive through and pick up in the hour tone frame you choose. I can now fit my door that needed a small amount taken off.
I bought this because it was cheap and thought it'd be more efficient than just grinding away with a sander, but I'm so glad i did buy it. Obviously it's useful for planing surfaces and it does that well but it's a great problem solving tool. Cutting a chamfer because you dropped a board and it's all munted on the edge? Quicker than setting up a fence for the router. Need to cut a taper on a post? Freehand a few passes on a downwards angle. Discover that you've glued up your table wrong and have braces on both sides? 10-15 passes with the planer and no one will be able to tell. The vacuum socket works really well and the blades were correctly aligned. Just be aware that the parallel guide is made of aluminium and is easy to bend. Check it for square if you ... Check it for square if you regularly set it on the ground with the guide still on.This is the cheapest legit brand I can find and the 3 year warranty is great for peace of mind.
