I bought this to replace a previous Ozito drill I had for many years and "Lost," during a house move.My old model did not have the hammer drill capability that this offered. This function has been extremely useful in many jobs around the house and in the garden.Overall, very happy with the all-round functionality and, not to mention that the price was extremely good compared to the competition from Ryobi, Makita etc.

This little drill kit cost $45.What would you expect for $45 where you get a drill, battery & charger right?Well, I did quite a bit of testing with this drill today, and I was blown away. This 10mm chuck size drill punches well above its weight, and well above who this kit is aimed at.Basic drill/driving jobs, is probably the type of DIY'er this kit will be purchased by..No it does not have a 2 speed box, but that does not matter as it has a variable speed trigger. The chuck requires 2 hands to tighten it, where the next skin up in the range (the $49 13mm chuck size hammer drill) has a 2 speed box and a one handed chuck operation.Using the supplied 1.5ah battery, I used a multitude of screws (please see images) during this test from 14g (6mm) x 100mm gal ... MoreThis little drill kit cost $45.What would you expect for $45 where you get a drill, battery & charger right?Well, I did quite a bit of testing with this drill today, and I was blown away. This 10mm chuck size drill punches well above its weight, and well above who this kit is aimed at.Basic drill/driving jobs, is probably the type of DIY'er this kit will be purchased by..No it does not have a 2 speed box, but that does not matter as it has a variable speed trigger. The chuck requires 2 hands to tighten it, where the next skin up in the range (the $49 13mm chuck size hammer drill) has a 2 speed box and a one handed chuck operation.Using the supplied 1.5ah battery, I used a multitude of screws (please see images) during this test from 14g (6mm) x 100mm gal hex head screws to 14g (6mm) x 40mm gal hex head screws to 6g (50mm) Philips head wood or gyprock screws. The gyprock screws were a piece of cake, and the driver just wanted to keep driving them deeper and deeper below the surface of the timber (I was using a pallet frame) no problems.I did this with 10 screws in and out over 50 times, no issues)This driver drove the 40mm hex head 14g gal screw all the way home no issues without using any pilot holes, so this was great. Did this operation 10 times no issues. We found our limit on the 14g 100mm gal screw, and half way, she just stopped.I could keep getting another couple of mm each time I pressed the trigger, but the cut out works great, and she does not wind down to a stall speed, once its over loaded she just cuts out. Something my Bosch did not do.So this is very safe for the drill, its cuts out when it has had enough. All of this operation, which lasted over 35 minutes, depleted the battery to 1 bar out of 3, so the baby battery also punches well above its weight.I tried the 4ah battery that came with my PXC 2 x 18v telescopic handle mower, and it was no different at doing the job, it would simply last longer. All in all a really great result, from one of the best value, but very well built drills on the market.

Bought this drill quite a while ago, but only tried using it recently.Drill struggled drilling relatively small diameter holes in timber. And drill bit often stuck in timber with drill chuck still rotating! On inspection of the drill bits, found that the drill chuck gouged a couple of marks into the drill bits!Appears the drill chuck has rough/sharp finishes which seems to prevent the chuck from gripping drill bits properly, and also causing gouge marks on the drill bits whenever drill bits seize up in material being drilled into!I would have liked to have returned this drill for a replacement or a refund, but I've misplaced the sales receipt so I can't return this drill!Practically a near to useless drill now!!

Great Value for Brushless power tools
2 December 2021

Recently saw this Kit advertised at $149 and since I was looking for a new drill it was too good to pass up with 13mm metal chuck and brushless motors plus a 4AH battery.I have used a number of Ozito products over the years and they are generally quite good for home use with an excellent warranty to cover those times when things aren't 100%.These tools have great torque and a 4AH battery is more than enough. I also have other PCX 18V batteries to use with them from other Ozito products so the fact that there was only one battery was no problem.

Great bang for buck
2 April 2022

Used for DIY projects. Brushless drill great battery life and quality features 13mm bit, Metal chuck and nice positive torque settings. The only place id down score is the triger/ motor connection is discongruent ie a slight disconnect between the pressure and the speed at which the motor reads the trigger travel. This has resulted in over driving the screws occasionally, where i rarely would with my old drill. With care its not an issue but with repetitive tasks the odd one catches me out or the torque would not kick in predictably. Id give it 4 stars and the hammer drill 5 stars, no option for a 4.5 combined score.

Great combo.
18 July 2022

I wanted a new drill after my 8 year old Ozito drill finally gave up. After a LOT of research i settled on going with Ozito brand once again and came across this combo pack. I never really saw the need for the impact driver, but i have to be honest and say ive used that more than i have the new drill, and I love it. The drill itself could do with a better chuck. Its quite hard to tighten on the drill bit and then loosen. But it does the job and does it well. I am going to buy the next level up of the drill

Last in NSW Bellambi. 3hr each way by public transport. Grip is very clunky & uncomfortable for ladies's hands compared to Makita. Ozito Brushless is waay heavier than even brushed Makita. But at the promotion price of $149 incl a 5Ah battery -bargain.

OK. Not too bad/good
2 June 2022

Bought this to drill 12 x 7mm holes into cedar block. Using the concrete drill bits. A bit hard for this machine. I had to use smaller drill bits to start it, then use the right size drill bit to finish. It won't be like cutting through butter/wood. Need a lot of man-power to push. If you want to drill bigger hole, i would suggest getting one that is more powerful.

One of the worst ozito PXC tools i own
27 January 2022

I have the 5 piece kit and the drill driver which failed 2 months after purchase trying to drill a 30mm hole into melamine unit started to smoke. As I was tight on budget at the time and wanted a cordless circular saw the kit price was appealing at $299 at the time. Bunnings replaced the unit however I have since get myself a brushless milwaukee combo kit and only use the ozito as a back up. Tried to drill a 5mm hole in hard wood and it begins to overheat 25mm in. I would have to say it is one of the worst pxc tool I have at home followed by the angle grinder as the on toggle disengages under a bit of vibration. The other pxc tools I own work great. My favourite would be the cordless shop vacuum cleaner, and the cordless blower, followed by the led light, impact ... MoreI have the 5 piece kit and the drill driver which failed 2 months after purchase trying to drill a 30mm hole into melamine unit started to smoke. I just purchased the brushless mower so will do a review once I have used it.

Ex carpenter builder for 24yrs I have had all the brands - Metabo, Makita, Festool, AEG, Panasonic, Dewalt etc etc. this cordless drill combined with a 4.0ah battery does more than my $500 to $1100 previous drills ever did. Fits well in my hands, has the same power as the old corded ones that I am throwing out now. Battery life is amazing!Weight seems fine, but if you need a lighter drill then whack a 2.0ah in it and it will become smaller as well. It has a light to show where the pointy end faces (where have you been all my life). The only thing I haven’t tested is dropping it on concrete but I’ll write back here when it happens.I have no problems at all recommending this drill. Forget the well known names, you can’t go wrong with this one unless you manage to ... MoreEx carpenter builder for 24yrs I have had all the brands - Metabo, Makita, Festool, AEG, Panasonic, Dewalt etc etc. this cordless drill combined with a 4.0ah battery does more than my $500 to $1100 previous drills ever did.
