The original pig is without question a tonne of fun…..but not that practical…… the Big Pig is a big step up. While still retaining the fun element it just gives you so many practical cooking options and chucks a remarkable amount of heat out too. Love everything about it….. a truly great product.

The original pig is without question a tonne of fun…..but not that practical…… the Big Pig is a big step up. While still retaining the fun element it just gives you so many practical cooking options and chucks a remarkable amount of heat out too. Love everything about it….. a truly great product.
Love it, great fire for warmth and cooking
This piece of kit will last me a long long time. It's easy to use, cool on and stand beside for warmth. But not to close. Excellent quality the welds and finish are top quality. Buy one for home you won't regret it if you look after it.
Solid beast, definitely recommend
Positives: OzPig Big Pig is excellent and does the job of cooking and keeping me and family warm. It throws a brilliant amount of heat and accommodates a minimum of 4 people around it easily. The flue draws smoke well. I love using the warming plates and purchased the separate flat grill plate for direct heat cooking. Having a contained fire cooker that can accommodate cooking for a large crew is a winner. Make sure you have a hatchet to cut smaller size wood.Negatives: It really needs an offset flue component as when at home I like cooking undercover...without an offset my Big Pig is currently out in the rain as it doesn’t fit in my undercover area. The Lifing Tool needs some refinement and could do with some additional length. Moving plates is clunky as the nib ... With the lifter being small and black you can lose it easily amongst the wood, ground, leaves etc and when the Big Pig is roaring hot with lots of fame the Lifter is wayyyyyy too short....it could do with a designated spot on the unit and perhaps a piece of leather through a hole on the end of a longer one for it to be hung up. A cover and 2 x carry bag would be a positive too.My Verdict: I am really stoked about the Big Pig and all of the things you can use it for. It’s like having a little bit of homesteading happening in the middle of the bush.

I originally thought the the product was too small for my purpose but on reading reviews on the internet I changed my mind and went for a second look. The product is well made and functions as a fire place extremely well. It was easy to assemble and It is easy to light and capable of burning low grade fire wood. I use it as an outdoor camp fire place in my backyard and am very satisfied with it. I haven't used it to cook a meal so I can't comment on that but I suspect that it also does this well.
Great upgrade from the original OzPig!
After owning a pig for 16 odd years it was time to step up to the new model big pig, fire control is the key to great cooking on the pig you will not regret spending the dollars to get this wonderful campfire and cooker.
