Affordable, Easy to Pitch & Compact

This is a good tent for single person Motor Cycle or small car camping being all of the above and more. If the weather looks to be coming in bad it will take strong winds and an Oztrail Camper Fly added over the top will ensure no water leaks in heavy rains. This is one of many, many tents I use for compact camping trips. Some Basic dome tents, like those of the Oztrail range, don't get the credit they are due unfortunately. This one is worth having for use as a home away from home. I own a 3P Oztrail tent that is also a good unit. "Old Camper"

I am only five feet tall. This classic lightweight dome tent is a dream to set up and pack down quickly. for one person. It is lightweight, yet sturdy in strong winds. Its internal dimensions are very roomy, with good airflow. I have struggled to erect the so called easy up style tents on my own, especially when it comes to getting the fly on and actually getting the tent up and stable enough to peg down securely. No such problems with this gem of a tent! Better still it is so much ligter and easy to pack in the car. Thrilled with my purchase!

I have had the Wild Country version of this tent for 12 years( Wild Country was previously who OZtrail is today). Currently been living in the tent permanently, for the last 3 months. Have it set up like a small studio flat, at a local free camping spot, that has toilets and water. It has gone thru some mighty big storms, heavy heavy rain. Expect it to last atleast another 6 months, depending on how much hail I get. I do have an polyester nylon 6 m X 3 m tarp over the top, but it doesn't cover all sides , leaving one side exposed to the north. When this tents dies will buy another, an Oztrail version.

If you need a tent for 3 adults, go to the 4 man
16 October 2022

Easy, simple little mozzie dome and fly. Great for me as a single camper but there is no way 3 adults could fit in this tent (which is the use I was testing it for.) I am only 5 foot 6 but found that I had to lie diagonally and there was just room for me, a bag of clothes and other belongings. In terms of quality - it's first outing was a couple of nights on the very windy Albany WA coast where winds blew hard all night long and this little tent held up very well.

Lovely tent
20 April 2021

It pays to read the on-line instructions! I put my new tent up to see how it went for size and ease of erecting. Would have been a heap quicker if I read the instructions first! Once up, I was delighted with it. Had front and back awnings extended - plenty of under-cover outside space for gear and camp table for cooking. Packing it up took 4 shots to get it into it's bag,, but this will also be much quicker next time, now I have worked out a way that works. Very much looking forward to my first camping trip with this tent. And for the price it is terrific. I bought longer, stronger pegs - they are the only downside to the tent. Had 3 days of pretty solid rain and wind, and not a sign of a leak. Money very well spent!

OZtrail Tasman 4V Plus Dome Tent
27 December 2022

I bought this tent so that I could take my young son camping by myself. Our main family tent is the Coleman Northstar 10p which is awesome but not something I want to put up solo. The Oztrail Tasman 4v plus dome is a great little tent, easy to assemble, light seems durable enough. I'm 170cm and had no trouble getting it up. For the extended porch I put down some mesh flooring which made it seem more spacious as you can use that section as a living area if needed. I'd probably not want to use this tent in any extreme weather but for some basic weekend camping it's great. Extremely affordable.

Appears to be a great product. Description says one person can put it up - I reckon if you dont have tent experience one person might struggle. I have plenty of experience, and it took me 20 minutes. Because its tall, too, (so you can walk around in it) and I'm not, i couldnt tie the poles at the peak. Also the fitting of pole on vestibule was a bit challenging, take it easy and slowly, and you will get it fitted.Height great. Two entries wonderful. Windows wonderful. Vestibule useful.Erevted it as tester before going away, as you should, checking you have everything, and that you know what you are doing. And left it up in rain. Appears to be able to handle good rainfall, no pooling (remember to put all doors and window covers down!).Vestibule good size. And good ... MoreAppears to be a great product. Happy.Easy to take down. Repacks into bag well, bag may not last forever so dont be too rough. You could add to ur kit a few extra pegs and ropes to peg out the window flaps.Otherwise, it appears to be pretty good, specially for people who are talker and not flexible to get in and out of tents! So far pretty happy.

Regretting purchase
11 February 2022

Ok, so I went for a bargain. I knew it was at the lower-priced end, but for a little dome tent it seemed to offer a lot. It is tall and admittedly it held up in the rain (one day and night) and was still dry inside. The wind is the main problem with this tent. It is very high with few anchor points and with the two poles of the main dome just not really stabile enough for windy conditions. It just gets warped and flattened. In addition, the small pegs kept coming out of the wet ground and I had to double and cross peg them with spares. The vestibule is a great idea which is why I bought it over just a plain dome tent. Just worried it will get flattened by a gust. Will be very cold in winter as inner tent is all mesh. So, it survived a stormy night (with a trailer ... MoreOk, so I went for a bargain. So, it survived a stormy night (with a trailer parked next to it to take the brunt) though its inhabitant decamped early on and squeezed into the family Black Wolf as they were too scared to get squashed and soaked.

Haven’t actually used it yet, but I have put it up in my lounge room. The instructions were easy to read and I put it up all by myself, with no outside help - so it must have been easy! Once up, was really pleased with how airy and spacious it was. Can’t wait to try it out for real ! 😃

Update on my Review
12 March 2020

Had to put up the OZtrail Tasman 4 Dome tent in high winds at Kangaroo Island recently and was glad of help, as alone I struggled to keep it from blowing away. Indeed so strong was the wind that four of us all struggled to get it up and pegged down, but once pegged it stood up to near gale force winds, as solid as a rock and with minimum rattling or blowing noises at night; fantastic! It stood up, as well to heavy rain, without even the slightest leak, and its net inner and resultant fantastic ventilation meant no condensation in humid or cold conditions as the weather was so variable during our stay!Others were battling water in their tents or dealing with repeated partial collapses under these testing conditions!
