Very linear fragrance and I think every man should have a bottle like that in his collection. The scent itself is beautiful and unique. It is still relevant in so much as it attracts compliments galore when I wear it. It is an honest and enduring formula that remains close to the original. Longevity and projection is moderate and not a powerhouse like it was before. The vintage version 70's till around the mid 80's was probably one of the best juices produced in the history of perfumery and I will try to hunt a bottle in the near future.

This is really similar to Ralph Lauren Polo green. A typical barbershop scent. The opening is much more soapy and the opening is quite metallic. The opening is just dreadful but the dry down you get this beautiful dark green style depth to it. The atomizer is quite nice on this as well. It's not the easiest fragrance to wear, average longevity and projection, if you can get this for 20$ in a drug store for 50ml and are a fan of polo but want something to wear for those times where it's not a special occasion this is for you. This is for the older generation 40 or 50+

A soapy ever-so-green classic, and close to the original version...

This is the 4th edition of the fragrance, produced, roughly, from 1996 to 2002. Its run seems to have predated the significant reformulation that occurred with the 5th edition (it's been in the 6th edition for a few years now, in the 2010s. Since the turn-of-the-millennium reformulation (just after this 4th edition), its reputation has sloped downward, with more and more complaints about that reformulation and the other significant one since then. I can't speak to that myself, as this 4th edition is the latest version I have. I also have a few examples of the 1st (1973 to c.1984) and 2nd (c.1984 to 1992). Judging solely from my samples, the 1st and 2nd editions are virtually indistinguishable from one another. My 4th editions are pretty close to my 2nd editions, but opening even a little more brightly, with a little more citrus and lavender. This isn't really surprising, as older versions of anything generally have lost more top notes. For most of the drydown, the 4ths and 2nds are close, though the 4ths have a somewhat synthetic quality in a side-by-side comparison. After about 10 hours, a dirtier base of vetiver and tobacco emerges in the 4ths, and this (along with the more-present top notes and likelylower price tag) is the reason to get this version. After a few more hours, the 4ths have faded away, but that's a heckuva long-lasting fragrance. (For what it's worth, my 2nds remain a detectable skin scent for about 36 hours. I have nothing else that comes even close to that sort of longevity.) What I haven't said yet is that the 4th edition is still an amazingly beautiful soapy, almost buttery green fragrance. Full disclosure, I've never heard a single compliment when wearing this, but what do I care? I don't need compliments to make me happy. Paco does that for me by itself. In my top 10 (with my 1st and 2nd editions in my top 5). If you find a good deal on it, just buy it already.

A valentines gift

There is almost no scent. Very strange. I can feel the product being sprayed. I can feel the alcohol on my skin but almost no fragrance. A bit disappointing. I would not buy again. I would not recommend.

I love this smell

I didn't know if I would like this classic scent, but reviews are overwhelmingly good. It is awesome!! Most of the current stuff is citrus, ocean, floral. I like these, but this one is so manly, but in a pleasant way. It reminds me of POLO but without the douchee gold chains and hairy chests.

My #1 choice most alluring perfume

preferential use for evenings out with my wife and special our occasions. for setting the right tone for romance and lovemaking. Also for special business events. Has a great scent that immediately noticeable resulting in pleasant looks some provocative and comments. There is absolutely nothing that is displeasing or negative to be said of this perfume. It is my #1 choice

One of the best 70s classic!

Decided to grab this 1973 classic from PB as it reminds me of my dad as he use to wear the aftershave of the Pour Homme in the 70s. I love barbershop scents and this definitely has that barbershop vibe! I've always liked this one from PB. I can say that this is pretty much my favorite from this house. This is a very green scent with that rosemary and clary sage. I do get some rosewood along with lavender and geranium. As it dries down the oakmoss and musk become more noticeable. Performance is very decent as I got 8 hours + with a couple of hours of projection. Smells great

This is such a lovely aftershave. It was bought as a Christmas present. great price too. So easy to buy from John Lewis on-line and have it delivered to my nearest Waitrose. Fantastic service. Definitely takes the hassle out of shopping. I now have a very happy chap, who smells terrific!

Yes

First purchased this in the 80's but it was a splash on cologne.. I wish I had purchased one with an atomizer at the time.. I Loved the scent then and haven't included it in my collection since. thought I'd give it another try! Got an atomizer this time and I must say it seems a bit different than my first bottle.. I Do like it and use it primarily when I'm being active throughout the day.. Outdoor events, grocery shopping etc! Just looking for something clean & fresh with a bit of a kick! My Wife likes it so my hunch was right! Sorry that I haven't gone back to it sooner!
