Paco Rabanne Olympea Solar Intense Eau De Parfum 50ml

The Olympea perfume is still being talked about and I like the original quite a bit, but don’t own it (yet). I found a sample of the Intense flanker in my fragrance horde, and it’s ok. I do like it, it’s exactly the type of perfume I wore years ago. Strong Amber base, with some vanilla …and toss in some salt too? Sounds good to me. I love salt in my perfume, but with this one it doesn’t tickle my fancy like the original. Maybe it’s bc there’s also a hint of pepper and some citrus going on. Wood too. But as it dries down and some time wearing, I mostly smell the amber, vanilla and woodiness. I enjoy it, but would probably buy the original over this one.

Beautiful fragrance

I have been using a small sample of the Paco Rabanne Olympea Solar and I LOVE it.The perfume has a scent of orange citrus and floral and it’s a beautiful fragrance for all day wear. It lasts all day long and makes me feel happy and feminine when wearing it.The sample came in a cute smaller bottle that’s gold and luxurious looking. I have seen the larger bottle and it looks so pretty. I think it is a perfume where I need to splurge on the large bottle ASAP.I was gifted a sample to trial and review.

Extremely floral

This was a blind buy. I decided to give it a try after reading positive reviews. Unfortunately, the scent is very unappealing to me. Extremely floral and cloying. It is long lasting but as it gives me a headache, this isn't a good thing in this instance. I got it on offer but I certainly wouldn't pay full price. It reminded me of the cheap stuff you get from bargain stores. I tried to give it away to a couple of other people but they didn't like it either. You know it's bad when you can't give it away.

Florally Scented

This fragrance is instantly appealing to the eye with the gold foil leaves on the box which translates to the gold design on the clear glass bottle.The scent is very pretty and feminine and I love the floral notes in it. I found it long lasting and easy to apply. I like to apply this fragrance to the insides of my wrists as well as a little through my hair, mainly on the ends which gives a nice whoosh of scented air as I go about my busy day!I recommend this perfume to anyone who enjoys a floral scent. I feel like you can never go wrong with Paco! He always is a winner with the fragrances and colognes.A floral, sweet fruity and fresh scent, but yet has warmth to the fragrance. Olympea Solar is the more intense scent from the ‘Olympea’ line and is more my style as I like depth to the fragrance and something long lasting.The bottle is appealing also with the elements of gold giving it a real luxury look.This one will definitely be an addition I love in my collection and a fragrance for either weather being warmer months or summer days.I was gifted a sample to trial and review.

Ive actually had the sample for a bit, but its mostly just sat there, waiting while I reviewed other, more likely candidates. The folks over at Paco Rabanne have done a great job of keeping the brand relevant with the youth market, but have not shown much interest, so far, with the notyouth market, which of course includes me, and partly explains why the lack of interest is pretty much mutual. As is so often the case with these big designer launches, it took a team of big name perfumers Loc Dong, Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion to put it together. Its advertised as a fresh oriental and as a a unique fusion between a sensual salted vanilla accord and refreshing floral notes,2 and thats all reasonably accurate. Olympa starts with a very juicy, very green citrus overlaid with a decent lashing of ginger. It announces its fresh orientation right out of the gate, with vague allusions to Glade and LEau dIssey, but its otherwise a nice enough start. It sweetens up as the top notes fade, with candied but watery floral notes and then creamy vanilla over a woody musk with salty solar undertones. It has a summery, almostbeachy feel neither caramel popcorn nor coconut are listed in the notes, but there are faint strains of either or both, and theres just enough powder to lend a velvety finish to the far dry down. Verdict Its just fine. Its reasonably wearable and reasonably pleasant if applied in moderation despite the fresh and watery notes, it is not really a sheer scent. Not surprisingly, I found it both too sweet and too synthetically fresh for my taste, and in general, it called up modern youth on spring break more than Cleopatra. Still, not bad, and a far cry better than Invictus. If you want something along the same lines, but maybe a little more sophisticated, you might try Calvin Klein Reveal. If you want more fruit and less fresh, you might try Thierry Mugler Womanity. Paco Rabanne Olympa is available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum and in matching body products. I think there was originally an Extrait as well, but perhaps it is already sold out The notes include mandarin, ginger lily, aquatic accord, jasmine, vanilla, cashmere wood, sandalwood and ambergris.
